Quinn had lazily walked into her dorm at around 8pm that night. She thought that she and the other VK's were going to get expelled after the charade they pulled at Family Day. But Fairy Godmother only gave them a lecture about "not using antomizers on school grounds," and "counting to ten when you're angry."

She had liked it when she walked through the hallways and everyone backed off and cowered in fear, though. Maybe she would use sleep atomizers more often.

No one was in the room when Quinn arrived, making her breathe a sigh of relief. She didn't want to be bombarded with questions from Alison. Quinn plopped onto her bed, almost falling asleep, before deciding that she should at least change and take her makeup off before she went to bed.

So she did that, earning a couple of glares from the other girls in the bathroom, which she didn't really mind. So much for leaving the Isle's evil. Who knew that good girls could be so snobby?

Quinn had almost fallen asleep. The only thing keeping her awake was a bright lamp and a good book. All she wanted to do was keep to herself until the plan was carried out. Though that was going to be hard, considering that she lived with another person.

The Hearts girl jumped as the doorknob unlocked and opened. Quinn quickly shut her book and pretended she was asleep.

Alison smiled and rolled her eyes at her friends poor attempt at fake-sleeping. "Quinn, I know you're not sleeping," she said. Quinn didn't budge, so Alison held up a bag of food, "I brought french fries—"

The blonde's bag was quickly snatched. Quinn brought the fries back to her bed as Alison stayed by the door.

"Hey," Quinn said, shoving fries in her mouth.

Alison smiled. "Hey," she said, "What did Fairy Godmother say?"

"Nothing much," Quinn put her hands down, "Just a long lecture about 'not using sleep potions on school grounds.'" She paused, eating more fries, "Are you mad?"

"Mad?" Alison, "Of course not. It's tiring hearing Audrey and Chad and people like them talk. I get it. Just, don't use sleep potions next time."

The heartbreaker frowned, "That's it?"

Alison nodded.

Quinn shrugged, "If you say so."

The day had finally arrived. The day the VK's had been planning for since a slick back limosine drove them to Auradon.

It was cronation.

Mal was waiting in Evie and her dorm. Evie and Quinn were in the bathroom, applying makeup and doing their hair. Quinn had missed getting ready with Evie.

Evie had made her, Mal, and Quinn's dresses. All in their signature colors. Quinn's was red. She had absolutely loved it when Evie gave it to her. It was a halter floor-length dress, not to poofy but no too straight either. Golden flowers and other nature-related details were swen onto the dress, making it even more unique.

Quinn and Evie had helped each other choose miscellaenous accessories for their dresses. In the spirit of coronation, Quinn decided to rock a tiara, which she concluded that she should do more often to honor her roots.

"I miss this," Evie said, zipping the back of her heels.

"Miss what?" Quinn inquired.

"Spending time with my best friend," Evie answered, "Not plotting. Just having girl time, you know?"

"Yeah, I miss it too, blueberry," Quinn said. She hadn't used a nickname on anyone in ages, "Maybe we can have more girl time when all this is over."

The blue-haired girl hummed. "Speakng of when we get back on the Isle," she started, "What's going to happen with you, Percy, and Harry?"

The question took Quinn by surprise, causing her to move her mascara wand in the wrong direction, resulting in some of it smuging on her cheek. "Ugh," she muttered, "E, do you have—" Evie quickle handed her a makeup wipe, "Oh, thanks."

"So are you going to lead them both on?" Evie asked, now facing Quinn, "I know you like Percy and there's obviously something going on with you and Harry."

Quinn twisted the mascera back on. "Blueberry, I hate Harry," she said, "And nothing can go on between me and Percy, okay? My mom hates me dating people, let alone Peter Pan's son."

"So you do like him?"

"I mean he asked me to be his coronation date, and he's cute and funny," Quinn insisted, "So, I like him as a friend."

Evie shook her head, "Think what you want Q, think what you want."

• • •

"You okay? You seem off."

Quinn looked up at her coronation date, than looked at the cathedral that seemed to loom over her. Mal had already walked into the cathedral, her being Ben's date and all. The potion to break the spell was ready, and the limo was ready. Now, the VK's had to play the waiting game.

"I'm fine, just nervous," Quinn said, "You know, first coronation and all."

Meanwhile, back at the Isle, the villians' eyes were all glued to the television. Max and Maxine Hatter appeared on the TV screen.

"And here we have Maxiums and Maxine Hatter," Snow White, the commentator announced. The TV immediatly showed the twins in their red-haired glory.

"OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!" the Queen of Hearts yelled at the TV.

"Oh get a grip," the Evil Queen rolled her eyes.

"You'll be fine," Percy said as the two walked up the steps, "It's kind of boring, actually." The double doors were already open, waiting for guests to pour in before closing.

"You look beautiful, by the way," Percy mentioned.

Quinn went red in the face. She was expecting him to say 'nice' or 'pretty' but instead, he said 'beautiful.' Quinn immediatly started to feel even more nervous. "Thank you," she said, "You look nice too." Her eyes widened, "Um, bathrooms to the left, right?"

Percy nodded.

"Okay, I'll be back," she said, unhooking her arm from his, "Just gonna freshen up. After all, I do seem off."

The two smiled before Quinn walked to the bathroom. She pulled the door opened and placed her arms on the edges of the sink. Her body weight was put against her hands as she looked at her reflection.

"Just brethe," the heartbreaker muttered, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, "You can do this."

A sound echoed in the bathroom, followed by, "Shoot." Quinn's head perked up and turned to find a closed stall door along with a long, purple chiffon skirt below it. With the voice and purple dress, Quinn immediatly knew that Mal was in the bathroom.

"M?" her voice echoed through the bathroom, getting no response, "Mal are you in here? It's Quinn."

"Uh, yeah," Mal said nervously. Nerves and Mal didn't go together. Mal was never really one to be nervous, so Quinn didn't take her shaky voice with a grain of salt.

She walked over to the purple-haired girl's stall, "M, what are you doing here? Coronation is gonna start soon."

"Ben knew about the love spell all along."

The Hearts girl raised her eyebrows in shock, "What do you mean he knew all along?"

"Remember our date at the enchanted lake," Quinn nodded as Mal continued explaining, "Turns out the lake has magic in it. When Ben swam in it, the spell wore off."

"So he's been faking it all along?" Quinn asked.

Quinn heard the lock of the stall door turn. Mal opened it, showing her hand with a golden ring. Quinn recognized it as an Auradon one, for Percy had one just like it. Same lion, same everything.

"He said he loves me," Mal said, "Quinn, you're the master at breaking hearts, what do I do?"

She had no idea. Quinn knew that Mal and Ben had some sort of feelings for each other, and you can't fake emotion. The only reason Quinn was able to lead on so many guys back on the Isle was because she didn't know what love was. But Mal and Ben knew. Mal just didn't know it yet. So Quinn did only what she could do.

"Look, we can talk about this later," Quinn insisted, "Let's just get the wand first and we can talk about this once we get to the Isle. I know us and Jay, Carlos, and Evie are bound to have some sort of chat about everything that went down in Auradon. Just brethe for now, and try to forget about it."

Terriable advice.

"Yeah," Mal softly nodded, "Yeah, okay. I'll see you in there."

The duo shared a breif hug as Quinn internally scolded herself for giving Mal such bad advice. All she knew was that the VK's had to get this wand-stealing charade over with.

"Good luck," Quinn said, watching Mal's retreating figure.

• • •

It didn't take long for the rest of the guests to pour into the cathedral. Quinn, Evie, Jay, and Carlos all stood in the balcony as planned with Mal in the front. Percy had sat with his father with the rest of the Auradon kids, leaving Quinn alone with her friends.

Quinn's breath hastily stopped as the double doors flung open, revealing the soon-to-be-king. The choior began and everyone curtseyed and bowed as Ben passed by them. Quinn shared a worried glance with Evie, who passed it to Carlos, who passed to Jay, eveuntally spreading to Mal.

The carpet led Ben to Mal, his parents, and Fairy Godmother who all stood on a staired podium. Fairy Godmother hugged Belle and curtseyed to the previous king. She gingerly removed his crown and placed it on Ben, who was already kneeling in front of the royals.

With one swift motion, Fairy Godmother removed the perriwinkle silk fabric covering the wand's casing. King Beast removed the gilded casing. Mal sent a look of worry to her friends, who softly nodded in reassurance. They had to do this and they had to do it now.

The villians watched the entire coronation with anticipation back on the Isle of the Lost. This was their one chance to be free from the Isle's clutches.

"Do you solemnly swear to govern the peoples of Auradon with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign?" Fairy Godmother asked, carefully holding the wand.

"I do solemnly swear."

Fairy Godmother held her warm smile. "Then it is my honor and my joy," she lightly tapped Ben's left and right shoulders as she blessed Ben with the wand, "to bless our new king—"

A hand quickly snatched the wand. Whoever had taken it clearly didn't have any sort of experience with wands because the wand went in different directions and sparked through the cathedral. The plan was finsihed. A rumble choursed through the cathedral and at that moment Quinn knew.

The barrier was broken.

Quinn squinted, struggiling to see who had the wand. "Who's got the wand?" she asked

"It's Jane," Evie said, a look of shock painted onto her face, "Let's go."

The four quickly rushed off of the balcony, to the main area of the cathedral. They crossed flights of stairs and shoved open the double doors to find Mal with the wand.

"Stand back," Mal threatened as her friends ran to her side.

"It's okay—"

"Ben, I said stand back!"

Ben quickly took a step back as Mal's threatening gaze continued. Audrey pushed her way through the crowd, shouting, "I told you so!" only for Mal to point the wand at her. Audrey backed off.

"Let's go," Carlos whispered, willing to leave before things turned worse.

"Revenge time," Jay reminded her, but Mal didn't budge.

"You really want to do this?" Ben asked. Quinn couldn't wrap her head around the fact that all five of the VK's were clutching a wand, threatening everyone in the room and Ben still thought they were capeable of being good.

"We have no choice, Ben!" Mal cried. Tears began to form, "Our parents—"

"Your parents made their choice," Ben said, "Now you make yours."

A short silence loomed over the entire cathedral. The VK's were faced with a difficult descision. Either fallow their parent's footesteps or stray away from their evil ways. A choice that would take someone years to make only took Mal a couple of seconds.

"I think I want to be good."

The response shocked Quinn. Mal, the wickedest, the evilest of the five, the daughter of Maleficent was the first VK to say that she wanted to be good. Everyone's expression softened.

Quinn knew that when she first arrived to Auradon, everyone was wondering if they were good, or if they wanted to be good. But Quinn never really stopped and thought if she was good or evil. Maybe, now was the time.

"You are good," the new King insisted.

Of course, Mal refused to believe him, "How do you know that?"

"Because . . . " Ben trailed off, "because I'm listening to my heart."

The five's expressions softened at Ben's words. They wanted to listen to their hearts.

Mal lowered the wand. "I want to listen to my heart, too. And my heart is telling me that we are not our parents," Mal let out a watery chuckle as she turned to Jay, "I mean, stealing things doesn't make you happy. Tourney and victory pizza with the team makes you happy." Quinn felt her eyes well up as Mal turned to Carlos. "And you, scratching dude's belly makes you happy. Who would've thought?" Mal turned to Quinn, "And you, hanging out with Alison and Percy and making music makes you happy." She turned to Evie, "And Evie . . . you do not have to play dumb to get a guy. You are so smart." Mal breifly paused as Evie snifled. "And I don't want to take over the world with evil. It doesn't make me happy. I want to go to school. And be with Ben. Because Ben makes me really happy," she pointed to Ben and shared a sweet smile with him as the crowd cooed.

"Us being friends makes me really happy," Mal said, turning back to her dear friends. Her best friends, "Not destroying things," Mal put her hand in the middle, "I choose good, you guys."

Quinn was surprised, to say the least. But she was more shocked when Jay, of all people, was the second person to put his hand in the middle.

"I choose good, too," Jay smiled.

Quinn felt a sudden surge of happiness, and her being a team player, put her hand in the middle. "I choose good, 'cause why not," the crowd lightly chuckled.

Evie we followed suit, "I choose good."

All eyes were on Carlos, who hadn't put his hand in the middle yet. "So, just to be clear, we don't have to be worried about how really mad our parents will be?" Quinn chuckled. Of course Carlos is going to be the one to question where our parents are, "Because they're gonna be really, really mad."

"Your parents can't reach you here," Ben informed them.

Carlos nodded, putting his hand in the middle, "Okay then. Good."

Mal motioned Ben over, who also stuck his hand in. Mal leaned her head on Ben's shoulder and smiled. This was what they wanted. But the story can't end here, can't it?

Suddenly, thunder boomed above them, and a cloud of green swiftly emerged to the floor. The smoke dissolved, revealing Maleficent with her—now working—scepter.

"I'm back!" she cackled in a sing-songy voice, satisfied with the fear that was now instilled in the people of Auradon.

"Go away, mother," Mal said, seemingly fed up with her mother's evil buisness.

Maleficent started laughing, thinking that her daughter was joking. "She's funny. Oh! I'm so . . . " she trailed off, her laughter covering actual sentence formation, "you're very funny. Here. Wand me. Chop chop."

"No!"

Mal tossed the wand to Fairy Godmother, who had attempted to spell Maleficent away. But Maleficent's staff was more powerful. She reversed Fairy Godmother's spell, causing everyone to freeze except for herself and the VK's.

Maleficent took her sweet time. She messed up Ben's crown, King Beast's glasses, and snatched Fairy Godmother's wand before joking about how Fairy Godmother needed to "pluck her nose hairs" as she had put it.

"Where shall we begin? I know. Why don't we start by getting rid of this?" Maleficent pointed the wand to Mal's hand, which had Ben's ring on it. The ring was quickly taken away and stuck onto the wand with a ping. "Perfect fit!" Maleficent continued poking at the royal family. "Falling in love is weak," she insisted, "and ridiculous. It's not what you want."

"You don't know what I want!" Maleficent looked at Mal in shock at her words, "Mom, have you ever once asked me what I want? I'm not you!"

"Oh, obviously," Maleficent wouldn't budge, "I've had years and years and years and . . . years of practice being evil. You'll get there."

"No, I will not," Mal insisted, her eyes still watering, "And I really wish that you had never gotten there yourself. Love is not weak or ridiculous. It's actually really amazing."

"I know one thing, young lady. You have no room for love in your life!"

"And now I command, wand to my hand!" Mal's hand extended towards the wand, which glowed, struggld against Maleficent's grip, and transfered to Mal's. The purple-haired girl smiled in shock, "It worked!"

Everyone was surely shocked. They all knew Maleficent was very powerful with her magic, and they didn't think that Mal's would be able to overpower Maleficent's.

"I hardly think so. Frankly, this is tedious and very immature," the dark fairy paced back and forth, before demanding the wand, "Give me the wand. Give me the wand!"

"Hold on, Mal," Quinn started, placing a hand on Mal's shoulder.

"Maybe good really is more powerful than evil," Carlos finished Quinn's thought.

"Oh, please! You're killing me," Maleficent told the duo, pretending to bark at Carlos. Dude jumped onto the dark fairy. Maleficnet fought the innocent creature off. Dude padded back to Carlos, a distraction enough for Jay to clasp onto Maleficent's staff.

Her eyes glowed bright green. "Gaston should be jealous," she snarled and flicked Jay in the head, causing him to stumble back. Quinn attempted to charge at the fairy, but she was held back at Carlos.

Maleficent was done with their nonsense, "Enough! You all will regret this!"

Maleficent emerged into a cloud of green smoke. The cloud continued growing bigger and bigger by the second. The VK's backed away in fear when the smoke cleared.

Maleficent had turned into a dragon.
