Three (draft)

I looked around the room, wide eyed, searching for the source of the voice. I found him in the corner of the room, looking out the window through a gap in the curtain. I blinked, trying to make sense of it. I even went out to the hallway and rechecked the room number for good measure.

When I walked back in, he was standing at the edge of the bed, a suitcase full of various weapons in front of him, while he himself held a gun in his hand, loading bullets into it.

Oh no. I thought, starting to panic now, this hot sexy hunk of a man is going to kill me.

Well it's not a very bad way to go, I mean, there are worse ways of dying, you've learnt that from the countless seasons of Criminal Minds.

I shook my head. What the hell am I doing talking to myself! I should be running for my life!

With that thought in my mind, I took a step back, but being the clumsy me, I managed to drop the vase sitting on the table at the entrance of the room.

The noise that the vase made caused the man to look up at me. I gulped and gave him an awkward smile. He just raised his eyebrow and went back to loading the gun.

"I assume that you've been debriefed about the mission," he said calmly. I blinked and frowned.

"Mission? What mission?" I asked, my frown deepening. Now I'm confused. The man sighed heavily and muttered something under his breath that I couldn't catch. He looked up at me with an exasperated expression donning his beautiful face. I haven't known his guy for even a few minutes and he's already disappointed with me. Damn, I've got some skills.

I was snapped back into reality when I saw a gun held out in front of me like he expected me to take it. I reeled back slightly and looked up at him, horror and confusion clear on my face.

"I know this is your first mission, but you don't have to look like this is the first gun you've seen. Just take it and follow me." He said while shoving the heavy gun in my hand and walking past me.

"Follow you? Why the heck should I follow you?" I asked, following him to the elevator. "I don't even know your name." I continued as we entered the elevator and he pressed the button for the roof.

"Agent Austin Lambert from the FBI, there now you know my name so stop complaining. So, here's what we're going to do-" I cut him off before he could say anything more. "The FBI? You're kidding right? Is this some sort of prank or a practical joke? Because if it is, it's not very funny and you seriously need to work on your sense of humour." I said as I looked around for any hidden cameras, but found none.

"What the hell are you talking about? Why would I joke around with this?" Austin said as he walked out of the elevator, making me follow him, still looking around for cameras.

"Anyways, here's how it will go, the package is somewhere on the top floor, which is closed off to the public, so we go up to the rooftop, where there is a restaurant for couples and pretend to be a couple. Then you distract the guards long enough for me to slip past them and get the package. Meet me at the hotel room when I give you the signal. Do you have any questions?"

I blinked, trying to let all the information sink in and nodded slowly. He sighed again and mumbled an 'of course' under his breath before looking up at me expectantly.

"How do I distract the guards?" I asked and saw him take in a deep breath to contain his anger.

"You look like a smart girl, you'll figure it out." He gritted through his teeth, before snaking his arm around my waist and pulling me to him, making my cheeks heat up. "Now let's get this over with."

We walked out of the hallway and onto the roof where the dim lit restaurant was. I shivered as the cool air hit my skin and instinctively shifted closer to Austin as we walked to the door of the restaurant where two buff bodyguard looking guys stood.

"Sir, Ma'am, can I please have your names?" One of them asked as we reached them, "I need to confirm your reservations." And by the way Austin slightly stiffened beside me, I knew we were in trouble.

"Of course," he said, while smiling stiffly, "Mr. Garner."

As the guy with the list went through the names, the other one looked at me with a frown, because I was sweating buckets.

"Are you alright miss?" He asked me. I glanced between the two men, as they looked at both of us suspiciously, and let out a nervous laugh.

"Of course, I'm just feeling a little-" I cut myself off as I let my body go limp and rolled my eyes back, pretending to faint.

As I was about to hit the ground, I felt two arms circling around me and heard the rush of footsteps in my direction.

"Sweetheart," sweetheart? I mentally cringed but kept up my act and forced my nerves to calm down. "I think she's feeling a little faint." Austin said, most likely to the two bodyguard-looking-dudes. "Is there any place I can lay her down?"

There was a moment of silence before I felt someone lift me up and walk towards the stairs. I could hear one more pair of footsteps who I assumed belong to one of the buff guys and they were hopefully leading us to one of the rooms on the floor below us.

After a while, I heard the click of a door and then felt the soft material of a bed as Austin laid me down on it.

"Thank you for letting us stay here, we'll be out as soon as she feels well." Austin spoke, breaking the silence. My eyes popped open as soon as I heard the door click shut. I let out a breath of relief and looked at Austin who was looking at me with surprise and admiration, a emotion that was only rarely directed towards me.

"What?" I blushed while looking down at my hands that were resting on my lap.

"You were awake all this while?" He whispered in wonder. I nodded, playing with the hem of the blanket that was covering me waist down and looked up at him shyly. He blinked and gained his composure.

"Alright, you got us in, good. Now stay in here and direct me to the package okay?" I blinked and looked at him wide eyed.

"Wait, you actually think that I'm a spy? I'm not a-" I started, getting up from the bed, but he cut me off by handing me a small tablet looking thing.

"I know, you're not a spy. And neither am I. We're just a couple that are here to enjoy the party." He said and gave me a 'that's final' look when I opened my mouth to protest. "Now come on. We need to get to the package and come back before the guards come to check on us." He said, pulling me out the door. We started walking down the hallway when the tablet thing started beeping quietly, making me look down at it.

"Um, it says that the- package is straight ah- what are you doing." I said when he pulled me into a corridor. Be held his index finger to his lips in a 'keep quiet' gesture.

"There are men all over the place here, which means we're getting close." He whispered while I frowned.

"Okay, but why are we hiding? We just have to take the package, whatever that means, and go right?" I whispered back. "Why are we going in like a couple of thieves?"

Austin looked at me like I've grown two heads and shook his head, taking out a gun from his suit. I gasped softly and looked wide eyed at the gun.

"We're not going to be killing people, are we?" I said, looking between the gun and him. He rolled his eyes and shook his head, making me relax slightly.

"Killing is too suspicious. We'll just knock them out." He said in a nonchalant voice and then pushed me back as a guy came around the corner. I watched as Austin covered the guy's mouth and pulled him in the corridor, then he hit his head with the back of his head, effectively knocking him out.

He gave me his gun- which was really heavy - and proceeded to search the now unconscious guy, producing a key card that looked similar to mine, and a walkie talkie. Then he dragged him to a supply closet near us and locked him in.

"Are we doing something illegal? Are we stealing?" I asked, stupidly. "Because stealing is bad, you know. Really really- hey! Stop pushing me around." I exclaimed in a whisper as he once again pulled me into the hallway and started walking down it like he didn't just assault a man and stole from him. His hand around my waist forced me to walk with him, which I did, reluctantly, but stopped when I heard a voice call my name.

"Eleanor? What are you doing up here?" Asked a voice I know all too well, a voice that has known to turn me into a puddle of feels since high school. I turned around slowly and came face to face with the guy who owned the voice.

"Will, hi."
