Chapter Nineteen
At the island stood three men but one had their back to us. The two across the island looked up when we came in, causing the third to turn.
If I had been standing I would have fallen so I was glad that I was being carried.
"Dean..!?" I managed to get out.
I couldn't say anything as he stood there smiling sheepishly. "Oh my God, oh, my God. Y-you..."
The shock was too much, if these people were bad -albeit that's be odd considering they stole me from the bad guys, but anyway- that means Dean was involved!
I could feel the anger seeping in as I considered everything. My father being glad that Dean was with me? But Matthew said he was in on it? Ugh! I screamed in my head.
The anger took over completely and I felt my legs again, taking advantage of the man holding me loosely, I jerked from his arms. Landing in a kneeling stance gave me the strength to push off ad start running.
I shoved passed my shocked kidnappers and out the door. My legs carried me across the yard and down the driveway; the helicopter pad came into view and a helicopter was touching down. Aware of the danger but I kept running.
There were screams all around me, coming from the helicopter, coming from the house far behind me, but I didn't stop until I was right next to the helicopter.
The doors flew open and three men in black jumped out followed by Colin. The sight of him made all my anger dissipate and I collapsed. The men in black surrounded me, aiming their guns at my head but I didn't care.
"Coli-" I managed and he pushed through the men and kneeled by me.
"Ace, what's wrong? What's going on?" He asked, anxious and worried.
"I-I... H-h-.." I stammered not able to say what I wished wasn't true.
"What is it Ace? Please, tell me what's wro-" Colin wasn't able to finish his sentence because one of the men jerked him to his feet.

I sat on a large bed in a rather small bedroom. The comforter was a beautiful deep crimson with white flowers on it. The room was in the same color scheme as the red comforter.
There was a desk in the corner of the room; it was white, along with a crimson chair sat in front. A skinny wooden door was on the same wall as the desk but in the opposing corner. It was a sweet room, but currently, I was pissed and the red was not helpful.
They put me in here telling me to just sit tight and wait. They said that lunch would come in thirty minutes, however I had been sitting there for an hour and I hadn't heard a single thing!
After a couple more minutes of fuming there was a knock on the door. I waited expecting them to just let themselves in, but when they didn't I spoke up.
"Come in."
The door opened and Dean walked in carrying a plate of food. "Never mind. Go away." I snapped with as much venom that I could muster. (Which is a lot!)
Dean grimaced and set the plate in from of me. It had crispy chicken strips, macaroni and cheese, and crinkle fries with ranch sauce next to it. I grinned and started to eat the food despite the situation.
He had to bring my favorite food, the cheater! I thought angrily has I dipped the chicken in the ranch.
"What do you want?" I snarled in between bites of mac.
Dean took a deep breath before starting. "I want to explain everything to you. Everything."
"Okay...?" I said confused.
"Well, you know you have powers. Powers that seem magic, yes?" He looked at me expectantly so I nodded. "Well, that's because you're from another realm." He paused and looked at me.
"What?! You're joking right?" I asked.
"No. We are both from another realm. A realm of magic. You, and the others, are the protectors. When you were born it was said that you would be the one to save all the realms. However, your mother decided you needed help. She went to your father and begged him to help you.
"See, your father was very powerful; he agreed to help you. He also agreed to give you companions to help you fulfill you mission, when the time came. Narcissa, your mother, was grateful but she fell ill. She wanted to keep you with her in our realm until she absolutely had to give you up.
"But your father could not take care of you. He attracted too much trouble. So she sent you off to this realm. The only realm with out magic. The others, some who were infants and toddlers when you were born were sent as well. Though, you all didn't end up in the same place as planned, it seems to be working out just fine.
"Your father was questioned at his decision to give an unborn child magic, but he said that she was special. However, by the time your mother fell ill, her mother was half way through her pregnancy." Dean stopped and took a deep breath.
"None of you remember your parents because your father took your memories. He regrets it deeply, he loved you, Ace, don't ever think he didn't. But he could never be around for you. He was dangerous."
"How do you know so much about this? I mean, I know you said that you are from that realm too but, you're not that much older than me. And you're acting like you knew my parents." I stated bleakly, but terrified of what he would answer with.
Dean dropped his head to his hands and sighed. "This is going to be hard to explain. Uhh, I'm not really eighteen. I'm one hundred and seventy two."
I stared at him and the fry in my hand dropped onto my plate. "I-I-I... Y-you...? What?"
"Yes," he said lifting his head up to look me in the eye. "When the prophecy was made about you, there was no immediate threat. However, your father decided that a organization was needed. He started a program for when you were older. I am now in charge of the Defense and Weapons division of your father's organization. I have been waiting forever for this position.
"This way, I can protect you better. You will learn how to harness your powers by the elders. They have ancient magic much like your father's. However, he was the elder so his magic was different." Dean watched me warily as I picked up the fry I dropped and ate it.
"Why was Colin brought here?" I asked the first question that popped into my head.
"We needed someone who could give us inside information and he came willingly." Dean told me with a shrug.
For some reason I suddenly wanted to hurt Dean. "He kissed me. Twice." Dean paled and dropped his gaze from mine. That's right, I looked him straight in the eye and hurt him. Old or not, I knew his feelings for me were genuine.
I turned back to my food and finished it off. "Anything else you would like to tell me while I'm being reasonable and cooperative?"
Dean shook his head and stood, grabbing my empty plate has he did. "I will have a wheelchair sent in for you so you can get around." Then he left.
For a few minutes I just sat there, ashamed of what I had done to him, but I felt like he deserved it. He lied to me. Well, actually, not really, given I had never asked about any of what he just told me. But he did lie to me and tell me he was eighteen, led me to believe he really had a family and everything. Which means he probably also lied about his job.
I flopped back onto my pillows and sighed. It had been a while since I had heard anyone's thoughts but it kicked in all of a sudden.
Their were lots of thoughts swirling around but I tried to find a familiar voice. That's when I heard Lexi's. She's here?! I thought excitedly and sat up.
Her thoughts flowed into mine easily. Apparently, Dean was telling her the story he had just told me.
Wow, I can't believe Ace is so powerful! I can't believe I had a mother! And a different father. I wonder if they're still alive... Lexi thought the last part sadly. I wondered the same about my own dad. However, Dean talked about him in past tense.
I switched from Lexi's thoughts to Sophie who seemed to be next to her. They were the same as Lexi's which surprised me. She seemed more like she would be upset that I was more powerful than she.
A knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts and I hollered for them to come in. The door opened and Emma came in pushing a wheelchair. I was so thankful for that wheelchair in that moment that I actually laughed.
Emma helped me get into the chair and she rolled me out of my room ad to the den where Dean, Aiden, Colin, Lexi, and Sophie were. It seemed that Dean was almost finished with his story so Emma and I waited just outside the entrance until he finished.
When he was done, Emma pushed me in the room. Everyone looked up as we came in and stared at me. I became uncomfortable under their states since they had just heard how I was powerful and my dad was the one who gave them their powers.
Dean cleared his throat, thankfully pulling the attention away from me. "Now that everyone is here we need to discuss strategy."
"Strategy? What are you talking about?" I demanded confused.
Dean looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Have you listened to anything I've said? You all are stronger together, and you need to save the realms. This is not all of you." He gestured to the four of us. "You need to find the other two."
