And even then, you'd never gazed my way.
I was only an option; never a choice.
I'd soliloquize my delusions, even after she was gone,
But you'd never see me as yours,
Even though I'd always wanted to call you mine.
How artless, my heart longs for something unattainable,
Within reach, but never to grasp or hold.
