I tried to smile today.

I failed a couple of times, maybe let a tear leak or two and closed my eyes tight enough to stop seeing every flaw. I broke my heart in the process...but in the end, I finally saw myself smiling in the mirror.

It took a lot to get there, it took a lot to see the girl in my reflection smiling through the shattered pieces of herself.
