Chapter Nineteen
Four days had passed since my uncle had called. I had filled the time with homework, finals are supposed to happen next week, but I don't know how the school is going to work that out. However, I choose not to dwell on that. Instead I focus on the day ahead of me. Axton had something going on with his people, so he and his uncle were going to handle that. During the time that they are gone, Kaid insisted on taking me shopping for an outfit to wear to court in the morning.

The next morning, I woke up at four o'clock, I had barely been able to sleep last night. I sit up in the bed and slide my hands over my face. Across from me, hanging from the closet door is my new outfit Kaid had bought me. It is a sea blue dress that came down to my knee. It has a sweetheart neckline, and tank top straps. Underneath it, lying in a box on the floor are a pair of five inch black heels.
I roll off the bed and sneak down to the kitchen. It's dark, so I fumble a bit getting out of my room, down the stairs and down the long hallway that lead to the kitchen. But I had managed to do it without waking the whole house up.
Though the dark I found the pantry, I trace my hand up the shelves, looking for the cookies I put there. After searching for it in the dark, I could find it. I mutter a curse, irritated that I didn't bring my phone for light. However, I couldn't turn the light on, because that would probably set off some sort alarm that would wake Kaidence up.
I think back to two nights ago when I came down around the same time and turned the lights on. Not ten minutes After that Kaid had come down fussing for me to go back to bed.
Moving back towards the pantry, I begin searching for my cookies.
"Looking for these?" I spin around, heart pounding in my chest to see that Byron Huxley is standing there, holding the pack of cookies I was so desperately looking for. He had turned on a small light over the sink, and was smiling at me.
"S-sorry." I mutter.
"Don't be. I was awake, sitting in the dining room." He gestured to the door to the dining room.
I pressed my hand onto my chest, willing my heart rate to slow. "I'll just go back to bed. Gotta be up in a few hours anyway."
Byron held the pack of cookies out. "Don't worry about later." He tells me as I take the cookies. "Everything will work out exactly as it's supposed to."
I study him for a moment. He's a tall man, strong, as though he had built houses all his life. He didn't look like what singers normally look like. "Do you believe in God, Byron?"
He smiles. "Yes, I do. It's the only way I've made it through everything that has happened."
I nod thoughtfully. "Goodnight, Byron."
"Goodnight, honey."

I held Axton's hand as the driver pulled into the court house parking lot. There were dozens of people, most of them holding large cameras, or phones. The people, who were nonchalantly standing around, looking bored, perked up the minute they saw the fancy car pull into the lot. They all immediately begin to run over, cameras at the ready.
"Isn't it embarrassing to them, being so obsessed with other people?" I mutter to Axton.
He laughs lightly, "who knows?" Axton grabs my other hand in his. "You ready?"
I look out at the hordes of people, through them all though, I see my mother walking up the steps, Jason trailing behind her. As she pulls the large door open, the lawyer smacks her ass. I grit my teeth together. "Yes."
Axton opens the door, helping me out. People are shouting at us, holding microphones up to us. I wrap my arm around Axton and stare straight ahead. We weave through the people, only some physically try to stop us. But we finally make it into the building, where more people stand with cameras. I groan quietly; Axton leans down to whisper in my ear.
"You really shouldn't make noises like that in a public place with so many cameras focused on us. Who knows what I might do." He pulls back and looks straight ahead. His face is blank, but I can see the underlying smirk that resides there.
I look to the ground, trying to hide my blush from the cameras.
"Here we go." Axton tells me, and he leads me inside the court room.

(They are in court here, but I dont know how it would work, so for now, I'm just doing this. This is a rough draft of this book, so I can do this. Please no hate.)

I stand up and begin walking out of the court room. Mrs. Ambrozie steps in front of me, halfway down the isle.
"Today went well for us. Don't worry." She smiles the tiniest of smiles, and I feel a little bit of my worries. subside.
"Thank you." And the lady was off.
I look around the room to see that the cameras were still running. I sigh, I'm tired. I want to sleep, or cry. But the cameras are still on. I lift my head, and walk out of the room, and down the hall to the bathroom sign. The people in the hall came up to me, asking me who I was, how I found Axton, if we were married. But I grit my teeth and brush past them.
When I'm done in the bathroom, I wearily pull the door open, and am met with arms wrapping around my waist. I look up to see Axton smiling down at me.
"Ready?" He asks.
"Beyond ready."

Nearly a thousand words in this chapter.
So, I don't know how a court hearing for a business would go, I am planning on researching that, but right now I'm really busy because I'm doing double classes this year, and I have a job. So like I said, this is a rough draft and I do what I want.
