Part 9
~Olivia's POV~
Number 1 on Monday morning
What is life? To some it may be a wonderful thing where there are people you can meet and places you can go and things you can do. To some it's a dull, dark place where there's people to judge you, and places that won't matter in 3 years, and things that were stupid in the first place. I was the first one. I was a bright beautiful flower. Then, I got drowned. I had a reality check on life and everything turned upside down. Now I'm underwater, and I can't breathe. There's no one here to save my drowning spirit.
Ding-dong the doorbell rings. Madelyn wanted to go to her dance studio early today. I don't think she's actually there. She keeps eating a lot, and it seems like she's not as skinny as she used to be. Maybe my eyes are just messed up.
I walk down the stairs until I reach the front door. I open it, and there lays a package addressed to me. I pick it up and walk back up to my room. I grab my scissors and open the package. Inside, there's notebooks. 3 notebooks. The notebooks have numbers on them. There's a note on the inside flap. It reads:
Dear Olivia Nobles, I found this in Tyler's room. There was a note on it that strictly said that I couldn't read it and to send it to you and Parker. He felt it'd be best for just you two to know why he died. There were two sets of 3 notebooks. I'm assuming they had the same stuff written in them. Go ahead and read them. It's what he would've wanted. From, Mrs. Wolfe.
Her handwriting is so neat. But, I can tell she was struggling to write it, because it get a bit shaky towards the end.
I pick up a blue composition notebook with the number 1 on it. I take it to my couch and start reading it.
Dear Mom and Dad,
If you did decide to read this, I'm sorry. I really am. But, the pressure of this thing you call "life" was getting at me. I couldn't take it anymore.
This is Tyler Wolfe's handwriting. He wrote this. He was planning on killing himself.
But, you can't read anymore of this. I don't want you to get mad at these people you made me call "friends"
If you're not my mom or dad, please turn the page and start to learn why.
I flip the page. I am interested. Just a bit.
It all started 2 years ago when I moved to this city. It seemed pretty nice. Everyone at the church seemed pretty nice. So, it was good. I didn't want a girlfriend, and besides, my parents wouldn't let me get a girlfriend anyways.
There was this first sign. Alyssa said, "Hey. I'm Alyssa. You are...?"
I told her my name, and she rubbed my back a bit. I didn't notice it at the time, but the way she spoke was so weird. Then, she asked if we want to hang out after church. I said yes thinking she was asking for her brother.
I went over to her house expecting to play video games with her brother. There was no car in the driveway, so I assumed they park their cars in their garage.
I rung the doorbell and I heard Alyssa yell. "It's open!" So, without thinking, I walked in. I heard the water running so I assumed that she had just went to the bathroom and then she's washing her hands. So, I took a seat on the couch.
Knowing Alyssa, this is not going to turn out good. But, I continue reading.
After a while of waiting on the couch a assumed that she wasn't washing her hands and that if she had a sister her sister is taking a shower, or that's just the way their house sounds all the time.
"Crud!" She yelled. I got on my feet hoping she'll show me where her brother's room is. I didn't say anything. "Tyler, can you come here?" She said.
I walked to where the sound of her voice was coming from. The door was closed.
"Can you help me for a sec?" She said.
I walked in without thinking, and found her taking a shower in the bathroom.
Oh gosh. Oh gosh. Alyssa, why? Tyler, no.
I've never seen a female naked before, so yeah, I couldn't take my eyes off her.
I wonder if this was hard for him to write.
Then, next thing I knew I was in the shower with her, but with my clothes on. Then, I realized what I was doing, and I ran out of there. I've never looked at Alyssa the same again.
Is that why Alyssa couldn't try talking to Tyler herself?
