I was hatched in a pit of dark water
My mother abandoned her sons and this daughter
I swam before I could fly
A few days submerged, then I touched the sky
My brothers were lured to sweet flowers
But seeking a darker treat, I scour
Until I smell my dear lovely host
Who carries what I need most
But I have been detected in this place
And so my flight becomes chase
I am a nuisance, I will get what I desire
For my children, a bloody meal I must acquire
Suddenly, a sparking racket appears in my path
Really, did I deserve this wrath
I was simply hungry, needed to eat
A touch of the wire, then chase ends in defeat
