Nico's POV

Long after the war (actually only two years or so) I finally got settled in my own apartment. I was almost 18 and decided to leave the camp. Everyone else was buying homes and starting families anyway. But I didnt do that. I left because I wanted to get away from the thing, the person, that was holding me back. Percy Jackson. I needed to get away from the boy I loved, the boy I knew would never love me back.

*time skip to a few days later*

I was walking around NYC cause thats where I found a decent place. While I was walking, I glanced to the other side of the street I was about to cross. And I saw him. With her. Holding hands. Smiling. Laughing. I was jealous of her, but I was more scared of them seeing me. Percy noticed me standing across the street first. He had a surprised look on his face and waved. Annabitch (no that wont be her nickname for the whole book, im gonna call her Annie) noticed Percy waving and she waved me over too. In response, me being stupid, ran all the way back to my apartment building, terrified. As I stopped at the desk to check in, I saw them walking past the window, obviously looking for me. I ducked into the elevator just as Percy noticed me through the window. As I got into my apartment, I gave a sigh with relief and flopped onto the couch. Literally less that 5 min later, someone was knocking on my door. I froze and looked through the peephole. Of course it was them. why why why did they care so much to follow me? Percy eventually yelled,

"C'mon Neeks we know your in there."

Oh gods he's using my old nickname. Only he called me that. I sighed and opened the door after them banging on it for ten minutes.

"About time man. What was that back there? You looked like you saw Medusa." Percy questioned. Annie stood there trying to read my facial expression. I could tell she failed.

I was stuttering. Great. "I-I uh di-didnt want to uh in-interrupt you guys."

The most confused face washed over Percy.Gods I hated when he made that face. It was like a puppy cocking its head. NO NO NO NO BAD NICO GOD DAMMIT! They both looked confused now.

"Uh Nico are you alright?" Annie asked.

He just realized he must of mad some werid expressions while mentally scolding himself.

"Uh im fine. Oh! Im sorry did you uh, wanna come in?"

He felt so bad now. He had no idea what to do. His crush and his crushes girlfriend were now standing in his apartment.
