FE shipping Week 3+4

I decided to combine the two days after skipping the second because I'm using Jimin's song Lie as a track for this the song was my inspiration. Reina_de_Naipes the pairing I went with was Robina. I don't ship this as much as Male Robin x Chrom but Robina fits the song better.

You ever think of the concept of soulmates? Two people tied to each other for the rest of their lives where they can live with each other  and love each other? Now let's talk about The red string of fate, the physical evidence of the bond between two people.

Lucina gazed upon the string, the knotless string that has been with her since birth. How she despised the thing, the whole concept actually. For it caused her nothing but anxiety. Her father told of all the stories, how when you first meet you see the knot tie, and you slowly start to fall in love. It happened to him when he was younger. It even happened to her very great grandfather. But that's what they were, stories. A tale of endless fiction, it wasn't until she reached her teen years that she realized the story held a bunch of lies. Especially considering her own love, wasn't even her soulmate.

His name was Robin. He had stolen Lucina's heart right before her, and there wasn't much she could do about it. She met him at the library one time, she didn't even pay attention to the string that time. She just noticed his white hair, and his voice. His voice so smooth, dare she say like silk. He was conversing with some random passerby, she hid behind the shelves. Then she heard his laugh, it made her cheeks warm a bit. Never had anyone had that affect on her that fast. She then observed his appearance, very casual, but then she caught the name tag. Did he work there?

Robin. It read.

She felt the overwhelming urge to talk to the stranger. So she hesitantly went out from the shelves. But a sudden thought came to her, if she talks to him what would she say? Now she became flustered, she really didn't think that one through. Becoming lost in her thoughts, she didn't realize she bumped hard into a person. She yelped, the books she had before tumbling out her arms. She opened her mouth to say something, but a familiar one beat her.

"I-I'm sorry! Are you alright?" They asked with concern. Blue eyes met deep brown and she was face to face with Robin himself. She stood dumbfounded, he looked a lot more....handsome...up close. He bent down to her feet, the move nearly making her form jump, and gathered her fallen books. He smiled once he stood back up, and handed her the novels. "Sorry about that, I should really watch where I'm going." He chuckled while scratching his cheek. She found the courage to speak again, really hoping her cheeks weren't visibly red, "N-No! Don't apologize! It was me who bumped into you so..."

Robin's gazed at one particular book as he handed them back, "The Red String of Fate? You're into that sort of history?" He asked curiously. She paused and then cleared her throat, "I'm not really interested, I'm just trying to research it, to see if the stories my father told me were actually true." She said, somewhat embarrassed, but he only seemed fascinated.

"I've never heard stories. Only about the basic, you meet someone and then you're tied together." Robin admitted while Lucina scoffed at the notion. "Well to me it seems ridiculous, who wants to be tied to someone they have the chance of hating?" She asked while Robin stared at her with a questioning look in his eyes. "What I mean is," she said, "is why should something as complicated as love be defined by this physical appearance?" She then shrugged, meanwhile Robin just chuckled and she could feel her heart jump again.

"You certainly have a lot to say about the Red String of Fate. Hm," He said and closed his eyes in thought, "I still feel bad about bumping into you. How about we get some coffee and we can talk more? After I'm done with my shift of course." He offered with a small grin, the offer almost making Lucina faint. Getting coffee together, an offhand way to say a date. She must be dreaming, never in her 19 years of living did she ever go out with someone. Was this fate? The Gods? The Force? Whatever it was, it certainly must've been amused by Lucina's red face and bewildered expression. She nodded silently and quickly went to a table, once there she covered her face with her hands.

She couldn't believe it. Even when they both went to the coffee shop down the streets. Even when they started hitting off conversations left and right. Even when she started meeting him more often, finally getting something to do besides sitting at home or fencing. She started connecting, and feeling. She started feeling how others felt when they were in love. An endless fluttering within her chest that brought her great joy.

If only her feelings went along with her fate.

It took her within two weeks of meeting Robin to notice the string had not tied.

She denied it. The cruel game fate had been playing with her. And she continued going with her own instincts.

Until fate finally made her lose.

She gazed upon how happy Robin looked, when he saw his own string tied, but not with her. With someone else. It felt like everything he said with that happy smile he had been stabbing her with 100 swords. She could have been selfish, but her father always taught her to put others before her. So she could only plaster a smile, while in her room she wept. True love showing it's true colors in being a Lie.

She had finally met Robin's significant other while meeting him once again in the coffee shop. She really wished she hadn't gone, just seeing him be so happy like he was with her a little while back only brought forth a massive pain. She only remembered how her heart leapt when she saw him smile, but now it brought along a stab in her chest. Once again she could only mask her negative emotions under that big fake smile. And that had been only the start.

And it continued until it felt like she had cut Robin from her life. She tried to forget, therefore the pain would go away. Right? But things kept hitting her left and right, especially the fact that she had not found her significant other yet. It all weighed on her mind heavily. She never told a word to anyone, thinking she could deal with everything herself. And then it started taking a physical toll on her.

One day, she met him again. On a quiet evening near one of the rivers. She didn't bother to call him out; But that didn't stop Robin from calling her out.

"Lucina!" He ran up to her, a huge smile adorning his face. "It's been a while? How have you been?" He asked. She could feel herself internally laugh, how has she been? If only he could understand, she desperately wished.

"I've been fine." Short and blunt she got out her words, if she talked to much she would certainly break. The concern in his brown eyes created further damage.

"You don't seem that way. You've been distant lately." He said as he studied her disheveled appearance. She prayed to the Gods that he would just stop. The feeling of hell was back and crawling upon her. She needed to get away, away from this lie. "I'm fine Robin! Just leave already! Go back to your lover and leave me alone!" She yelled incoherent things, not realizing how her eyes stung badly to the point where tears flowed. Robin looked at her shocked not expecting an outburst, his worry grew. He grabbed her wrist and felt her violent tugging, finally holding her in place.

"What happened?" He asked firm wiping her tears away gently. Lucina closed her eyes relishing his touch, she missed him. The wave of that feeling crashed upon her. She knew she would get in trouble for this, he would hate her. But she couldn't help it, her emotions took over her control. She wordlessly, pressed her lips against his. His eyes widened, his whole frame froze in utter shock. When she separated he stood speechless, confused.

"That's what happened." She uttered before sprinting away, just leaving more confusion.

And that was the last time she saw him.

Ever.

Actually that too is a lie.

Because a week afterwards, but not the way she would want to. Everything seemed like such a lie, first the happiness and now, his body being buried right before her eyes. It happened too fast and too soon, and she could only blame herself for being stupid. Not watching the street for signs of anything when she could perfectly see. He took the hit for her, and paid the price for her mistake. The pain grew worse seeing his significant other in as much pain as she was in. It only made it so much worse. She could only go up into her room and hide, clutching a letter she received from him the day prior.

It took vast amount of strength to not break down again when she finally read it. The words of "I'm sorry" "Soulmate", everything they did up until now.

"I'll always be here if you need me. Even if fate doesn't want us together."

Love, Robin

These words, "What utter lies." She murmured, lying in her bed. She gazed upon the knotless string on her wrist for another painful night.

A/N: Motivation is hard to find these days.
