ーtaehyung had been born an extrovert. he was the type of person who never found many situations awkward. he was the one who brought loudness to each conversation. he got quieter when he grew older, as well as jungkook. although they were both awkward introverts, they still clicked together.
it was strange, really, but taehyung found himself lost in a realm where only he could save himself. maybe he had gotten quieter, but he definitely wanted to take his mind off the guilt and anger building up in his stomach. maybe it was too harsh for him to leave jungkook with his sudden outburst.
did he slam the door too loudly?
taehyung hates himself for still caring about jungkook even after playing with his emotions. he hates how he still wonders if jungkook's okay when he should be the one asking himself that.
the frigid wind make the brunette shiver. it was one of those days. he should've brought his coat. maybe anger comes with carelessness as well. taehyung sighed. the quicker he walked, the quicker he could find somewhere warm to spend the rest of his night.
the first thing that had come to his mind was a bar. although it had been a cold wednesday night, taehyung still found the idea of getting drunk endearing. maybe it'll help. maybe he can finally get his mind off the one thing that has been on his mind the most.

"one more," taehyung pushed, the bartender giving him a strange stare. "this is your fifth glass, sir."
"does it look like I fucking care?" taehyung shot back and the bartender sighed, putting down the small bottle of alcohol. the action made taehyung grumble but he didn't say anything; watching the man give a pitied smile towards him. taehyung hated that.
when others felt bad for him.
"maybe you should go home. you look like you're about to die. did something bad happen recently?"
the words blurred in taehyung's mind yet he still managed to understand them. instead of answering, he hummed before swaying to the side in his large stool. the bartender only smiled at this.
"name is taemin. would you like me to take you home?"
instead of staying silent, taehyung placed his head on the wooden table, murmuring a few words in sadness.
"hm?" taemin hummed back, staring at taehyung with a fond smile.
"please don't. don't wanna be there. jungkook's gonna yell." taemin stood still for a moment.
"jungkook?"
"crush. previous crush. whatever you call him." taehyung's words were slow and slurred.
"i'll take you home. if he is there then we can fight." taehyung didn't respond; his head staying still on the wooden table.
taemin turned around before facing his partner, jonghyun. "i'm going to go. can you take the shift for me? the boss might kill me but it's okay." jonghyun only nodded, giving a slight smile as he watched taemin try to stop taehyung from falling asleep.
-
"fucking hell, why are you so light? do you eat well?" taemin gave a worried glance towards the brunette who was fast asleep on his back. gladly he had still been awake when he gave him his address though, otherwise, he wouldn't have known what to do with him.
"maybe that other boy left," taemin whispered to himself, carefully knocking on the door in front of him. it had been a few minutes and just when taemin was about to leave, the door creaked open. a head peeked out in fear before slightly relaxing, the door opening a bit more.
"are you jungkook?" taemin asked. jungkook only nodded his head in confusion before wandering his eyes towards taehyung who was fast asleep on his back.
"he went to a bar and was in no stage to leave the bar alone. I'm pretty sure he came here alone but he mentioned a few things about you. I came here to drop him off," taemin smiled at jungkook who kept quiet for a few seconds. widening his eyes, he dropped his head in shame.
"i-uhm sorry you had to come all this way. I didn't know where he went but I'm glad you took care of him." jungkook looked up and saw taemin take taehyung off his back and into jungkook's arms instead.
"I don't know who you are and what relationship you have with him, but please don't break him. I don't know your perspective on this relationship, but that boy looked fucking heartbroken when I first saw him in the club. take care of him and have a good night." taemin gave a short wave, leaving jungkook staring at the wall now in front of him. it was only a matter of seconds he took taehyung into his apartment, quickly tucking him into bed.
his movements were slow and jungkook stared at the empty spot beside taehyung.
he slept on the couch that night instead.
it didn't exactly matter whether taehyung was an extrovert or not. the only thing that mattered was that he was heartbroken.
and in jungkook's eyes, did that really matter?
