"Psst! Hey!" a voice whisper-yelled, "You awake??"
I tiredly open my eyes, to be met with a pair of red ones. It's a she-cat, with fluffy white fur, she's larger than me- well, most cats are.
"Oh!" she yelps in surprise, I flinch and look back at my mother. My nerves relax as I see that she hadn't stirred, despite how loud this cat was.
"Acorntumble," the cat beams at me, "Pleasure to meet you!"
I frown, once I study the cat closely. She... she looks like Acornpaw. I decide to shrug it off and I quietly introduce myself, forcing a smile.
"Magpiekit?" Acorntumble repeats my name slowly, it sounding like a question, "Pretty name! I knew a cat with the prefix 'Magpie' once!"
The cat tilts her head. "She looked exactly like you, actually, except the fact that she had a long scar down her face. Not to mention that she was an apprentice."
I flick my ears, this cat was chatty. Even I'm surprised that Mother hadn't woken up yet. One thought crosses my mind, but I didn't ask 'Acorntumble' that- it was quite strange, we had just met after all.
"What's the last thing you remember?" I ask suddenly, and when the cat parted her jaws to respond, I quickly added- "Besides meeting me."
"I remember being torn apart," Acorntumble tilted her head, "A fire running through my body as someone ripped my bottom legs off."
She was so nonchalant, but I frown. I couldn't be seeing a FlightClan cat- I wasn't a medicine cat!
"When that happened, they broke my spine, and I was at all these weird angles," the white cat frowns, her tail twitching, "My bottom jaw was gone- it lying in front of my very eyes and then my ears were slowly pulled off...."
I gag, imaging this very scene. My mind drifts to Kestrelpaw- was he dead too?
But all these cats felt... so alive...
When I looked back up to where Acorntumble was, she had disappeared. Frowning deeper, I decided to go back to sleep- after all, I was going to be an apprentice soon.
