Contest Entry
ruddergrl here's my entry for the RP contest. I'm also probably going to tag you in the comments because sometimes Wattpad doesn't give me a notification when I'm tagged in books.

I walked towards the fresh-kill pile, hoping to get something to eat. Litheshade, a warrior I'd seen in camp before but never spoken to sat nearby. "Hi!" I meowed.
The she-cat jumped back with a hiss, then started to whisper something about cats being killed.
"What?" I said, my ears pricked in an attempt to hear the words. "I never killed anyone!" I gasped.
Litheshade shrieked. "No! No, you're dead! I was there!"
I stared at her, confused. "I'm not dead!" I whispered, scared. I glanced around and spotted a cat I'd never seen before. "Wh-what's wrong with her?"
The cat stroked my back with her tail. "I don't know. But you are not dead." She said reasuringly.
Litheshade stared at the cat. "You can't be here!" I wasn't sure which of us she was talking to. Then she started muttering again.
The cat tilted her head. "You alright there?"
Litheshade blinked, her eyes clearing. "Thrushst- Thrush!"
I gasped. "The rouge?" Was this really a BrightClan exile? Or was Litheshade just crazy?
"Me? No, I'm not Thrush." Litheshade really was seeing things, then.
"Why are you here? Why is Swan here?" The warrior asked.
"I'm not Swan!" I meowed. "I'm Skykit!" Who is Swan?
"Swan?" The cat questioned, then added, "I'm Storm, not Thrush."
"Come on Skykit, let's leave Litheshade to her mind." The cat pulled me away.
Litheshade continued to mutter even after me and Storm walked away. I flattened my ears so I wouldn't hear.
"It's okay, Skykit." Storm said kindly.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"I don't know." Storm replied, stopping beside the warrior's den.
"Are you a member of BrightClan?" Storm didn't have a warrior name. I wondered why.
She looks a bit like my mother. I realized suddenly. Except she has darker fur and different color eyes. She reminds of her too, even though Storm is nothing like a kittypet.
"I am not a part of BrightClan." Storm admitted. "I did something terrible that I regret. I came back unannounced and uninvited. I want to apologize to the apprentices and the queen who lost her kit." She bent down. "I will always watch over the kits of this Clan whether i am a part of this Clan or not."
I looked up at her. "Even if you aren't a part of BrightClan, you still seem to be loyal to this Clan."
Storm's fur fluffed up a little. "Don't trust too many cats."
"I can trust cats who are part of or friends of BrightClan, though, can't I?" I pointed out.
"I guess. But I'm probably not to trust completely. Featherstar doesn't even know I'm here."
"Featherstar talks about hunting rouges." I shivered.
Storm also shuddered. "I hope he isn't after me. I would be dead if he found me here in camp."
"He's never mentioned a cat named Storm." I told her gladly.
"That's because it's the last part of my name I gave up. I go by Thrush now."
"I haven't heard him mention you, only Pebble." I said, trying to make her feel better.
"How is she?" Thrush asked.
"I don't know. I think he sent another apprentice to find her." I tried to remember. "Ravenpaw. She wanted to prove she was loyal."
"Wait, Pebble doesn't live here anymore?" Then Thrush shook her head. "Nevermind that. I have to leave before Featherstar catches me here. I will be watching you. Once you're an apprentice, you can come see my new home." Thrush nuzzled the kit.
"Goodbye!" I meowed. I would miss Thrush, but she was right. It was safer for her to leave.
Why does that sound familiar? I wondered.
"Nevermind that. You have to leave before the Housefolk come home. Go into the forest. I'll find you again." Misty nuzzled her daughter.
"Mother?" I whispered as Thrush padded away, too quietly to be heard, even though I knew it was impossible.

I sat in the nursery, hungry, but I didn't go out to the prey pile, in case Litheshade was there.

I hope no one sees me! I thought as I ran out of camp. I knew I'd get in trouble, but I wanted to see Thrush.
I was following her scent trail when I heard pawsteps. I jumped into a nearby bush, hoping that however was coming was out for a hunt and not looking for me. Goldenwater padded past sniffing the air. I held my breath, hoping she wouldn't scent me.
"Skykit! Come out! This is dangerous! Kits may not go sneaking out of camp, especially when Thrush is out there!" She called. "Skykit?"
What does she mean, 'especially when Thrush is out there'? I thought angrily. She promised to protect the kits of BrightClan! That should mean it's safe, not dangerous!
Goldenwater began to peer into the bushes. "There you are!" She said, spotting me. "Why'd you sneak out of camp, especially when Thrush is out there?"
Um, because Thrush is out there. I thought, but kept quiet.
Thrush padded towards her. "You don't have to talk as if I am an enemy. My only wish is to serve my Clan until my last breath from the outside. Goldenwater, if Skykit wishes to speak to me, she can. Featherstar did give me permission to watch over the kit, I stayed outside of camp long enough to hear that."
Thrush!
Goldenwater looked up to see her. "But... you have killed cats! I cannot trust you!" She hissed. She backed away, glancing around. The she-cat crouched. "You will not hurt Skykit!"
"Okay, I don't know where the whole thing about me killing multiple cats came around, I killed one because I thought he was interfering with me protecting an apprentice from losing her love of her life. Second of all, did I seem at all aggressive at the meeting? Maybe a little, because you all wouldn't listen. Goldenwater, I get that the Clan still doesn't trust me, but what I said in camp is the truth. What Jasper said was the truth. I came in peace. But Featherstar is clearly going as insane as Witherstar is, maybe even worse." Thrush meowed calmly. "Third, I wont harm any kit. I was actually in camp once, no one seemed to care. I talked to Skykit here a long time. She knows I speak the truth, and knows I wont kill again."
Goldenwater looked up at Thrush. "Alright. I will trust you. I believe you speak the truth." She stood up and padded to thrush. "Skykit? You can come out."
Like I need your permission! You're one of the many warriors in the Clan I've never spoken to once!
I darted out of the bush. "Thrush!" I meowed excitedly. I hurried towards her.
Thrush rolled her eyes at Goldenwater and gave me a quick lick on the head. "I won't. I give you my word. I promise by StarClan I won't." She turned her attention back to the me. "How are you doing?"
"I'm good." I answered.
"When will you be apprenticed?" Thrush asked.
"I'm not sure. I was three moons old when I joined the Clan..."
After mother sent me and Fog into the forest.
Maybe when I'm apprenticed I can look for her.
Thrush purred. "You still have a little while then. My only wish is that you grow up to be the best warrior the clan has ever seen."
"I'll do my best!" I said, determined.
Thrush smiled. "I know you want to spend time with me, but Goldenwater needs to bring yu back to camp, and I must return to my territory. We shall meet again, Skykit." Thrush meowed.
"Goodbye, Thrush." I turned towards Goldenwater.
"Bye, Skykit." Thrush said as she left.
I looked up at Goldenwater. "Before we go back to camp, can I go... visit someone?" I asked hopefully. I doubted she would let me, but it couldn't hurt to ask.
I don't want to make this too long so I'm going to stop here. This is over 1000 words, much longer than I normally write!
