Chapter 1
The first day of school is today, mainly it was the first day of sophomore year in high school. The year of high school where everything is real, where the fun begins with party's and relationships are taken seriously. Although I'm single, I think that relationships will have to wait for me. My study's are is what's most important to me at the moment. My goal is college, I want to make my parents proud. Not that I have boys climbing over each other just try and get me, they just want to get into my pants. Which is not my thing, I'm not a hoe.
I walked into my first hour, which is Math, I get to have my favorite subject as my first hour! Which I'm completely happy about. I take a seat in the back alone and wait for the bell to ring, the kids were talking and putting notes on paper. The teacher walked in with a stack of papers and looking formal. The bell rang and the class got quiet. She looked up and down the rows, her eyes past me quite fast as she began to pass out notebooks.
"Hello everyone! I'm Mrs. Brady. Yes, I am four months pregnant with a little boy. So I may need a little help getting around in a few months." She walked back to the chalkboard when she finished passing out the notebooks. I happily listened to her lecture for the rest of the hour.
----
I walked into my house with a smile and my backpack filled with a few papers. My parents looked at me and smiled, "How was your first day, honey?" My mother sat down with a drink of water, she had a pencil and paper for writing. My mother was a big writer, she had the two of the best-selling books in America. On the other hand, my dad was a doctor and one of the best in America. He cured over 100 people with brain and lung cancer. Now you see why my studies are important to me, I have to be like my mom and dad.
"It was great. I'm going upstairs to do my homework-"
"Emma, wait a second," I stopped and looked at my dad. He looked up from his reading and waved over. "Have you made any friends yet, or at least let in a guy?"
I sighed in annoyance, "You know my studies are more important than making friends."
"Emma, you need to makes friends. I'm proud that you're focusing on your studies, but try to make friends." He said. I starred at him for a moment and nodded then walked upstairs. My parents have always tried to make me make some friends, but I always lost interest in it. This year I'm going to make a friend just so my parent would get off my back about it. I did my homework with breeze and took a shower, the warm water ran down my body quickly as I reached for the shampoo then the conditioner.
After my shower I walked down stairs and ate dinner with my parents, who wouldn't stop talking about their work and me making friends, then went to bed. I just hoped that making friends was easier than it looked.
A few days later I walked into my first hour again. I sat in the first row where my assigned seat was and watched as Mrs. Brady, worriedly, paced around the room. She looked at the seat next to me and cleared it off.
"Emma, come with me please." She waved for me to follow her. I nervously obeyed and followed her out in the hall. She told me to wait there so I did, she paced to the office and came back with a young teenage boy. Many people were surrounding him like he was a part of a high level government agency. The boy had pale brown hair with blonde tips and dark brown eyes, plus his hands were badged carefully. I looked at his face, but then quickly turned away as I saw he was staring at me.
"Emma this is Josh Tanks, he is new here and since he has most classes with you, he will follow you around," She put out her arm to motion him to enter the class and sit. He nodded and kept staring at me as he walked to his seat. She pulled me aside and looked straight into my eyes. "Emma, Josh is a bit crazy. If you have trouble with him, let me know ASAP."
I just nodded, still staring at him as he stared at me. I walked into class and sat next to him, I was the first to break eye contact. I could still sense that he was still staring at me, but I did my best to ignore it. I had a bad feeling about this guy. A really bad feeling.
