Chapter 11

Willowleaf and Skypaw stayed silent as they padded through the forest. It had started to mist, leaving the she-cats' pelts damp and uncomfortable.

Skypaw's paws itched to go back to camp, but she knew they would be discovered there. By the amount of distance Willowleaf was taking her from camp told Skypaw the ThunderClan medicine cat was paranoid, too.

Skypaw almost tripped over Willowleaf when she came to a sudden stop. Skidding in the mud for a few moments, she was finally able to recover her balance and she stared at the medicine cat expectantly.

"Let's go to the old Thunderpath," Willowleaf meowed, Skypaw suspected Willowleaf wasn't talking to her, but to herself. But just to be sure, Skypaw gave a slight nod of acknowledgement and followed Willowleaf when she set off again, towards the abandoned Thunderpath.

When the two damp she-cats arrived, Willowleaf sat down on the edge. Even though this old path was usually inactive, ThunderClan was always sure to check all senses and signs for any Twoleg activity. Sitting on the abandoned Thunderpath would not be a wise move and they would surely be punished if they were found. Skypaw sat down next to her.

"StarClan showed you the prophecy," Willowleaf meowed. Skypaw wondered how she had known.

"So it was StarClan, then?" Skypaw asked, excitement tingling in her paws.

"No, it was an army of talking squirrels," Willowleaf meowed humorously. Skypaw stared at her paws. How could she have suspected it wasn't StarClan in the first place?

"Sorry," She muttered.

"It's okay." Willowleaf meowed. "What did they share with you, exactly?"

"'The sky will fall on the sun to save our Clan,'" Skypaw repeated the same words her warrior ancestors had shared with her.

"That's the one," Willowleaf replied.

"Why me?" Skypaw asked, continuing to stare at her paws. She felt Willowleaf turn her head and look at her.

"Why you what?" She meowed, surprised. "How much do you know?"

Skypaw stared at the medicine cat. She didn't think there was more. "Why they chose me to trust with the prophecy," Skypaw eyed her suspiciously. "What do you mean, 'how much do I know'? Don't I know everything?"

Willowleaf changed the subject quickly and ignored Skypaw's question. "You play a part in the prophecy," Willowleaf meowed carefully.

"But why me?" Skypaw pawed a pebble onto the Thunderpath. Willowleaf jumped, not expecting the movement on the old path. Skypaw muttered an apology.

"You're the cat StarClan chose, Skypaw," Skypaw could tell the medicine cat was still watching her words. Her tail lashed with frustration.

"But why?" Her tone came out a little harsh. Willowleaf seemed unaffected, so she didn't bother to apologize.

"Only StarClan knows," Willowleaf explained. "I was just informed about it, just like you were. I didn't make the plans." Willowleaf said her words with certainity, so Skypaw suspected that she had planned them.

"Who knows?" Skypaw asked. Time to put her knowledge into action.

"Your mother and father." Willowleaf lashed her tail. "No other cat."

Skypaw glared at Willowleaf. "Sandstar knew."

Willowleaf leaped to her paws, looking at the ThunderClan apprentice. "How'd you know?"

Skypaw instantly regretted pulling the medicine cat out for her lie. How would she explain herself?

Skypaw opened her mouth to reply, but suddenly, something rattled in the bushes.

Willowleaf had heard it too, because she slapped her tail over Skypaw's mouth to stop any words from flowing out. Both she-cats had ears perked, mouths opened and lashing tails. Skypaw froze when she heard forces, stretching her ears even further to try to hear.

"Shut up, Hawkpaw," Skypaw narrowed her eyes. This was a scent and a voice that was unfamiliar to her.

"Sorry, Nightflare," A tom's voice, who Skypaw assumed was Hawkpaw, replied. Willowleaf's eyes widened.

"ShadowClan," The medicine cat whispered. "They must be in trouble."

"Those are ShadowClan cats? On ThunderClan territory?" Skypaw's fur began to rise. She had heard nursery tales about these wicked cats. The cats who wind chilled their hearts and made them bloodthirsty. Not to mention, Russetsky's birth Clan was not friendly to the Clan who took her in as a kit when she should have been raised in the Clan of Shadow.

"Not just any ShadowClan cats," Willowleaf replied. "Their medicine cats."

Suddenly, a she-cat with a black pelt emerged from the bushes, followed by a shadowy gray apprentice. Skypaw's mind went to Russetsky and Shadepaw, for the three of them looked almost identical. Russetsky had brought ShadowClan looks into the ThunderClan forest.

The cats meowed with surprise. Their pelts bushed up and their eyes went wide. Once their eyes settled on Willowleaf, they sighed with relief. "Thank StarClan it's you, Willowleaf." The black she-cat meowed.

"Nightflare," Willowleaf meowed a greeting. "We thought we heard your voices out there."

"I apologize," Nightflare's speckled ears flattened with guilt. Then, the pretty ShadowClan she-cat's eyes focused on Skypaw. "I don't believe I've seen you before. Is this your new apprentice?" Hawkpaw's eyes brightened at the thought of a new ThunderClan medicine cat apprentice friend.

"No," Willowleaf meowed quickly. "This is Skypaw. She's training as a warrior and is the daughter of Bramblefrost and Russet-" Willowleaf cut off her words. Her eyes filled with worry as she watched Nightflare's reaction change.

"Russetsky..." Nightflare trailed off. "How is she doing?" Nightflare's eyes looked troubled.

"She's well," Willowleaf meowed briefly. "Sunstar elected her as deputy." Nightflare's eyes widened.

"Deputy? Of ThunderClan?" Her tone was disbelieving. She hadn't even brought up anything about Sandstar's passing, which had been still unknown to the rest of the Clans around the lake.

"Yes," Willowleaf stared at her paws. Skypaw's ears perked with confusion. Why was Nightflare so surprised? Just because her Clan lost a loyal warrior doesn't mean ThunderClan can't elect Russetsky as deputy!

"I never thought I'd be the littermate of the ThunderClan deputy," Nightflare whispered, something Skypaw suspected it was not supposed to be heard by the ThunderClan cats.

However, Skypaw did hear it. Her fur bristled and her tail lashed. The she-cat in front of her was her mother's ShadowClan sister!

(MWHAHA! Bet you didn't see that coming, Elaina. XD Anyways, I apologize that this chapter is so short. I have a lot to say, so by the time I do, it will fill up the 1.3K words.

First of all, I read your guys' comments on Chapter 10. I was actually quite surprised at the amount of feedback I recieved. Not to mention I almost cried tears of joy at your kind words! It warmed my heart tremedously and I never expected such a positive reaction to Sky Fall. The fact that you guys wanted me to update so quickly and that some of you even dropped what you were doing to read the update just makes me want to curl up in a ball in a corner and cry. I love you guys, and I will never, ever stop playing Minecraft or using Wattpad in my life.

Second of all, 317 reads?! Did I seriously look at that correctly?! There's no way! I can't believe that Sky Fall isn't even a week old and I've already reached 300+ reads. //dies// That goes over the amount of followers I have as well, by...I don't know, a few hundred?

I've been seeing a lot more voting activity go up as well. That makes me so very happy. :D Keep it up guys!

Heh, see, after my speech I've gone over my usual chapter limit and I even cut the chapter short. Told you. XD

But I also want you guys to know that I've been checking out your stories. Whenever someone follows me, I make a point of checking out your profiles. Even if I don't follow you, I add your books to my library, and continously check in..please don't take that as a stalker note. The last thing I need is a restraining order from any of you. XD

However, if any of you guys want me to comment my thoughts or rate your book on a scale of 1-10, I'd be happy to. I enjoy it when people do it to me, I would just like author's permission before I do so because it's not always wanted. :3

Anyways, continue being the best readers and I will hopefully have another update out for you tonight!
