I walk into school with a big smile on my face. No one's going to be changing my mind. My mind is set on what I want. Nothings going to change that.

Today is Halloween. Everyone will just assume it was a prank. No one will suspect a thing.

I stand in the bathroom looking at myself in the mirror. Dang I'm ugly. I have a handful of pills already in my hand. I've never been more sure about something.

I look at myself in the mirror once more. I close my eyes. A tear falls down my face. "Goodbye world," I whisper.

I bring the pills up to my face. I'm just taking up oxygen. No one needs me here.

My phone starts buzzing. I look at the pills and back at my phone. I close the pills in my hand and answer my phone.

"Hello?" I say trying to keep my voice steady.

"OMG!" Rachel says on the other line. "Emmie! I'm texting Blaine and I asked him who he likes and he said he likes you!"

I start smiling. I think this is a real smile. But she has to be joking. He wouldn't like me, would he? "Really?"

"Yes!" She says. "He's going to tell you on Sunday. You have to tell him you like him back!"

"Okay, okay I will" I hang up the phone and dump the pills down the drain.

"Let's see where this takes me" I whisper. Maybe it'll end up being something great.
