Pebble lowered himself into a play-bow, tongue lolling out to one side as he faced Moon, a much older pup. She looked down at him, a frown on her face. "What do you want this time, Pebble?" She growled.

Pebble was only a few days old, but he knew that he enjoyed Moon's company, and was sure she enjoyed his, too. "I want to play!" He cheered, bouncing up and down. Moon's lips drew back in the beginnings of a snarl. "I don't want to play with you, Ecl-Pebble." She corrected quickly, turning away.

Pebble immediately stopped, and stood straight, tail lowering as he heard the beginning of the word, 'Eclipse'. He had heard the comparison of him to the much older, bigger, stronger, eviler wolf. He shook his head. "B-But Moon, I'm really really bored, and the others won't let me eat yet."

Moon whipped around and let out a growl. "I said NO, Pebble. Go away, and pester some other wolf!" She snapped, then whipped around and stalked off, leaving Pebble stunned.

"Okay." He whispered, returning to his bedding. He curled up and was about to fall asleep when he heard a rough paw prod-no, poke-him. 

"What do you think you're doing?" Pine's voice came. "You realize that not only is that /my/ nest, but it's the middle of the day, and you could be preparing for when you're actually useful by getting stronger? I dunno, just some prey for thought."

Pebble lifted his head. "Yes, Pine." He squeaked, and hurried off.
