Justin's POV {⛔️🛑remember to vote please and I'll update faster⛔️🛑}
"Can you eat?" I ask as we were sitting down in the dining room, I just made some sandwiches for us to eat.
"I don't know, I haven't tried it yet." He shrugs, picking up the sandwich taking a bit at it. As he did that the piece dropped from his back on the ground.
"I guess you can't." I whisper, picking it up to throw it away.
"Hey, I'm still learning." He grins awkwardly, seeing me throw the piece away. "I can only become invisible, well that's what I'm aware of."
"Well I don't watch much ghost stories to know." I pick up my sandwich, taking a bit at it.
"I know you always got so scared." He giggles, throwing the napkin at me.
"I did not," I declined, swallowing slowly and putting the napkin on my lap.
"The last time we watched it you couldn't even go to the bathroom without me." He gives me a smirk.
"That was one time and the movie was really scary." I whine, pouting. Zayn suddenly started looking behind me like he spotted something. I look behind seeing nothing was there. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," he whispers.
"Anyways my dad is coming here tomorrow well that's what he said." I bit my bottom lip.
"Well he never did like me so I bet he's glad that I'm dead." He rolls his eyes looking at his hands.
"What? No, don't say that he was really sad all about this." I give him a quick glare bitting my sandwich.
"Well we can all act the part can't we?" He says scratching his chin being sarcastic.
"He's the only person that I have left, so please stop this," I sigh, putting my sandwich down.
"Then what am I? A potato?" He asked crossing his arms.
"You're my special potato," I laugh pinching his nose. He gives me a quick smile, rolling his eyes playfully.
"Did my parents come?" I was about to answer him when the door bell rings. "Wait, wait," he stands up waving his hands. "I'm gonna open it." He smiles to lead his footsteps to the door but I stop him.
"No! No!" I grab his arm, shaking my head.
"You stay here, and I'll open it."
"Why can't I do it?"
"J-just stay, okay? Do you really want me to explain this right now?" I scoff hearing the bell again. I pointed my finger at him to stay and he nodded but not before mumbling "I'm not a dog," to me.
I quickly walk to the door opening it to see my dad standing there. "Hey, look it's your dad," I hear Zayn's voice behind me. My heart suddenly went up and down when I heard his voice, I quickly look behind my back seeing him standing waving his hands innocently at me. Something that I learned from him these past years he's nothing close to being innocent. Even when he's dea- I mean a ghost he still doesn't listen to me.
"Son? You okay? What are you looking at?" I was about to open my mouth to talk but closed it not knowing what to answer him.
"He can see me when he's ready, so chill." Zayn whispers in my ear. I quickly give him a light push not to distract me. "Ouch?"
"Son? Hello?" I awkwardly grin, opening the door for him. I can see Zayn smirking like he as some plan in his brain.
"Hey, sorry dad. Um I'm just going through a lot today." I sigh, glancing at him for a second then looking at Zayn.
"What are you looking at?" He asks being confused looking in front of me.
"Huh? Oh nothing. I was just uh thinking what I'm gonna be doing in this all alone now." I swallow, trying not to sound stupid.
"Well, I'm glad you're feeling better. I can see you haven't been crying anymore." He patted my back going to the living room. I nodded, going to glance at Zayn but he wasn't there anymore.
"Your house seems interesting, was it your choice?" He asks taking a seat on the couch.
"Kind of."
"Justin, we need to talk so sit down." I feel a light push on my back, quickly looking it's Zayn doing it.
"Okay, I'm going." I whisper back to him. He quickly pecks my lips going towards the couch also. I rub my forehead walking towards the living room as well.
"Come on sit down." Dad smiles waiting for me. I clear my throat, gently sitting somewhere that Zayn isn't sitting so I don't crush him.
"Weren't you supposed to come tomorrow, dad? Is everything okay?"
"It's not about me, it's about you." He sighs. "You just lost someone very close to you."
"No kidding." Zayn suddenly speaks out. I wondered if he can hear him. I glanced at my dad seeing he's still talking like nothing happened.
"I told you he can't see or hear me." Zayn said as he laid on my lap. I was about to brush my hand on his back but he pushes my hand away. "No, don't it'll look weird. Just listen to your dad."
"Justin?" Dad snaps his fingers in front of my face.
"Yeah?" He sighs shaking his head.
"Did you even listen to me?"
"Yeah, I did." I lied, nodding my head.
"Then you'll do it?" He asks being serious.
"Say yes, it can't be that important." Zayn whispers, running his fingers on my face.
"Yes, whatever you say." I give him a fake smile.
"Okay then, want me to help you out because finding a roommate isn't that easy." My eyes suddenly go wide as Zayn pulls away from lap staring at me.
"Take it back what I said, it's a big 'no' from me!" He whisper, yells.
"Justin, this is important. I can help you with the money but you always say no but you promised last month that you would come and work for me it's a family tradition and-" "yes dad, I know and I'm keeping my promise don't worry." He smiles running his hands through my hair messing it all up.
"Your mom would be proud of you son." He whispers giving me a proud smile. I nodded in return. "How are you feeling?"
"Awful."
"Ask him about the roommate thing, what's that about?" Zayn nudges my shoulder.
"Dad, are we serious about this roommate thing?"
"Didn't we just agree that you would have one? You could rent a room easily, the mortgage of this house is a lot and you can't do it on your own you can use that money for yourself and you won't be lonely." Zayn scoffs suddenly.
"He isn't lonely, old man."
"Can I think about it at least?" He nodded, going towards the kitchen.
"What happened in here?" He looks at the ground.
"Oh shit, I forgot to clean up your mess." Zayn stands up, running to the kitchen.
"I never knew you drink, Justin." Dad said shaking his head.
"I don't, that's why it fell from my hand." He gives me a confused look, I look at Zayn picking up a broom to clean the mess. I suddenly stand up going towards dad grabbing his arm.
"Dad, um I'm so happy that," I look behind him seeing Zayn cleaning the mess up. "You're here, seriously." I pull him into a warm hug. I look behind him, seeing Zayn finished with the cleaning.
"What's that sound?" Dad pulls away from the hug looking behind himself.
"Uh, it's probably the stove. It's kind of broken." I lied, grinning awkwardly.
"But I heard the sound of glass." I clear my throat, pushing his back towards the door.
"Dad, I'm sorry but I'm feeling the axinety coming back again. I need you to leave, please. I don't want to look like a wimp when I'm crying." I frowned knowing that I'm lying to his face.
"Hey, don't say that a real man shows his emotions." He smiles rubbing my shoulder. "But I'll see you tomorrow okay? Don't hurt yourself." He hugs me one more time, leaving through the door. I sigh in relief looking around to spot Zayn.
"So what are we gonna do about this roommate thing? Because it's a big 'no' from me, baby," he smirked, started to kiss my jaw line.
