"Thanks," she scoffed, "Then what do you want me to do next?"

"Just keep observing him. By the way, what about the healing girl in the video? Have you managed to find out who she is?"

"No, not yet," she flatly said, "But don't worry, captain! It's not gonna take long."

"It shouldn't, of course!" the man laughed, "Do it as fast as you can. Identify all the kids who have superpowers in that school, capture them and bring them to North Korea, understand?"

"Copied that," she said, "But what about the adults?"

"Good question," the man let out a malignant chuckle. He then scanned through the documents on his table, which contained information about the South Korean agents involved in the president assassination operation, "Just kill all of them."

After the incident, Sung Ho and Hae Won started to become closer. They had already been friends for a long time, but they bantered and talked to each other even more since the day he helped her. It was about eleven when the recess time started for class 3.01 and Sung Ho asked Hae Won out for lunch.

"Here, have this," Sung Ho handed Hae Won a big piece of braised pork.

"Oh... thanks," she cheerfully grinned.

"It means a lot when I share my food to someone, you know?" he chuckled and suddenly held her hand, "I've got something to tell you."

"Huh?" she looked at him in confusion, "What is it? It seems serious, right?"

"I like you, Hae Won," he took a deep breath and looked straight into her eyes, "Please be my girlfriend."

"What? Out of a sudden like this?" she quizzically inclined her head, "Are you kidding?"

"No, I'm not," he retorted, "I really like you. If I really don't, why do you think I risked my life to save you?"

"Ah... I see," she slowly nodded her head.

"Can you... give me a chance, please?" he held her hand even tighter.

"I don't really wanna date right now but... I'll give you a chance because you saved me," she giggled. "One month, is that enough for you to impress me?" she patted his shoulder.

"Sure, it is," he grinned and nodded his head.

Meanwhile, Jae Hyun was listening to the talk from afar. He had never thought that he had any special feelings for her before, neither her nor any other girl. However, that notion of him seemed to be tarnished when he witnessed her being so close to another guy. He was rendered speechless. His hands became stiffened and reddened as he unconsciously clenched the food tray.

If he was not hindered by the stupid ankle weights that his mother made him wear, he would have been the one who saved her. The one sitting with her and talking to her now might not be Sung Ho, but him. That was a beautiful scenario, but it could never be the case.

"Hey Jae Hyun, you're OK?" Ji Woo inquired.

"Ah... I'm... fine... don't mind it," Jae Hyun awkwardly smiled.

"You sure?" Yoon Ah peered at him.

"Sure... I'm fine... so don't worry," he stammered as he retreated to a table and had a seat.

"Nope, you're definitely not fine," Ji Woo sat down besides him.

"You like Hae Won, don't ya?" Yoon Ah looked at him with her chin on her hand.

"Huh? No, why would I?" he defensively denied.

"You do. You definitely do. Don't worry and just tell us. Perhaps, we can help you," Ji Woo insisted.

"Well... I'm not sure if... I like her or not but..." he slowly forced out the words while scratching his head.

"Do you feel frustrated when Hae Won seems to be so close to another guy, such as Sung Ho?" Yoon Ah queried.

"Yes... I guess... Does that mean I like her?" he looked at the girls in bewilderment.

"Yes, it does," Ji Woo slapped his back, "Finally! Don't worry, we're gonna support you at our best."

"Wait a bit," Yoon Ah stood up and took out from her pocket a tube of ointment. "I'll help you," she winked her eyes and then left for Hae Won's table.

As Yoon Ah left, Jae Hyun began to be emotionally overwhelmed again. His feet left the ground while cold beads of sweat trickled down his spine. He tried to restrain his feelings while retrieving his bag to put it on his lap so that he would not fly.

"Hey Hae Won," Yoon Ah approached Hae Won's table.

"Hi Yoon Ah," Hae Won and Sung Ho said in unison.

"This is for your wound yesterday," Yoon Ah gave Hae Won the ointment tube.

"Oh, thanks," Hae Won took the tube while scratching the plaster on her forehead.

"Don't thank me. It's from Jae Hyun so thank him later on when you see him in class."

"Oh sure! That's so nice of him," she cheerfully smiled.

After finishing her task, Yoon Ah came back to her table.

"Daebak!" Ji Woo gaped at Yoon Ah and gave her a thumb-up, "Amazing, girl!"

"That's all I can do for you," she patted Jae Hyun back, "The rest, you gotta do it yourself."

"What? It heals so fast," Hae Won mumbled as she looked at the restroom mirror. Opening the plaster to check up on her wound, she realised that it had vanished, leaving no traces at all, "It's been just one day."

"What are you doing?" Yoon Ah entered the restroom right at the moment Hae Won removed her plaster.

"Oh shoot," Hae Won startled and quickly grabbed the plaster and the tube of ointment near the sink, "Phew... it's you."

"Your forehead, it already heals?" Yoon Ah inquired and stared at Hae Won.

"Ah... yeah... It's just a small scratch so I guess it can heal pretty fast," Hae Won awkwardly said and left the restroom, "See you later."

"Is she the one? Can anybody have such a good healing ability?" Yoon Ah thought to herself. Her eyes followed Hae Won as she walked out, considering the possibility of her being the girl in the video.

That evening, taking advantage of his mother not being home, Jae Hyun sneaked out and managed to make a rebellion he had never done before. He went to a bridge nearby and practised flying.

"Holy crap! Why is it so high?" Jae Hyun grumbled as he looked down at the glittering river, "Never mind, I can swim, right? C'mon Myeong Jae Hyun, you can do it."

He wanted to fly, but he hesitated. The wind howling and the piercingly cold water current beneath him quickly gave him goosebumps. But he dropped himself anyway.

"Arghhhhh," he screamed out loud as the whooshing sounds sprang to his ear, "What the f*cking f*ck!"

His body fell and hit the river surface so hard that he felt as if he was colliding with a concrete wall. Luckily, he did not sink. Just at the moment he touched the water, his flying instinct was triggered. He floated in the air, gliding through the water and screaming out of joy. A kind of joy that he had never experienced before.

"I'm really flying," he cheerfully exclaimed as he drifted through the wind.

From his altitude, he could marvel a large part of the city Namwon. He could see the shiny surface of the river when it reflected the moonlight, and also the glittering light from the houses, adorning the black canvas behind. It was not the modern and flashy landscape like that of Seoul, but it also had a unique beauty of its own.

However, Jae Hyun could not control his power yet and his altitude gradually decreased, until the point that he could touch the traffic signs on the road.

"No, no, no, no..." he grumbled as he saw a sign in front of him. "Wait, I cannot turn? Oh f*ck! How the hell am I gonna t..." his face hit the sign even before he could finish his sentence and the poor boy immediately fell back onto the ground.

"What are you doing?" So Hyun appeared to his horror and angrily asked him.

"M...mom?" he looked at her in confusion, "Why are you here?"

"Does that matter right now? I am asking you, Myeong Jae Hyun, what are you doing?"

"I... I'm... flying... I guess..." he stuttered and heaved out painful moans as he stood up.

"I've told you many times, you need to keep people from knowing that you can fly. Don't you understand that?"

"I don't, mom," he raised his voice.

"What?" she glared at him.

"I don't, can't you hear that," he suddenly shouted out loud, "Mom, I can't understand why you force me to wear ankle weights and have a barbell in my backpack every single day. And I don't want to do that either. Do you know how annoying it is?"

"Hey, don't you dare to talk to me like that!" she furiously scolded him.

"Why am I always so insecure and inflexible like this, mom? I can't run, I can't jump, I can't do many things I want to. I hate this... No, I detest this," he raised his voice as tears started to roll down his cheeks. "I don't want to be weighed down anymore, I wanna fly," he yelled at his mother.

"Then do you wanna be like your father?" she also bursted into tears and shouted at him with such a high volume that her voice nearly cracked.

Hearing So Hyun mentioning his father, Jae Hyun had gone totally dumbfounded. All he could do was just staring his mother in a mix of anger, despair and confusion. His mind was occupied by the memories of him and his beloved father who was killed when he was only five, too young to decipher what was actually going on.

"Jae Hyun, I'm sorry," So Hyun suddenly hugged her son as her sobs became louder, "I know that things have been tough for you, but can you put up with it a little more? I know that I have been harsh, but please... just do what I say. All of those are just for your safety. I don't expect you to understand me, but can you just... listen to me?"

"What... do you... even mean, mom?" he embraced his mother and cried, "Can't you just tell me everything right now?"

"I'll tell you when you grow up, OK?"

"But I've already grown up, mom!"

"No, you haven't. I'll tell you when I feel you're ready, understand?"

It was fortunate for Jae Hyun that things did not escalate after the unprecedented argument with his mother. Everything came back to normal on the next day and he still came to school as usual.

He genuinely wanted to listen to So Hyun. However, the temptation of throwing his ankle weights away was too big that he could not resist it. As soon as he entered his classroom, he took them off. He would soon realise that it might not be a good idea though. An incident happened during recess time, which could put his life in danger.

"Hey Jae Hyun," Hae Won grabbed his wrist when he was about to emerge from the classroom.

"Ne?" he offered her a breezy grin.

"This is for you," she placed in his hand a bottle of grape juice, "Thank you for the ointment yesterday."

"Ah... OK... You're welcome," he smiled at her and stepped back. Knowing that he did not have the ankle weights on his feet, he needed to keep distance from her. Otherwise, he might get too excited and fly off. Although there were currently only him and her in the class, he would still rather be careful.

"Thanks, Jae Hyun, for being such a nice and caring friend," she softly said and suddenly hugged him. It was his first time being hugged by a girl so he was overly hyped up.

As soon as she released him, he flew up in the air. It only took an instant for him to reach the ceiling and he did not know how to land.

But that was not the only problem. Seol Yoon Ah was standing outside the class and she had witnessed every single detail of what had just happened through the window.
