Chapter 26
We got to Nathan's house a little earlier than usual due to his speeding. I kept telling him off for it. I mean seriously one of these days he'll end up killing us both.
"Hi boys!" I called through the house as I stepped into the hallway. Within a matter of seconds I was bombarded with the two brothers and nearly fell on my butt.
"Hey Gretch!" Kendall beamed.
"Good to see you sis." Mason chimed in.
"Wait...what?" I narrowed my eyes at Mason.
"What?" He chuckled.
"You called me sis."
"And?"
"Why?" I questioned him, as I slid my bag to the floor.
"Well little Gretchen." Mason wrapped his arm round my shoulders and led me into the kitchen. "You're like the little sister I never had so I'm going to call you sis."
"That's so sweet!" I blushed as I pulled him into a bone crushing hug.
"Just adorable." I heard Nathan mumble sarcastically.
"Want some OJ Gretch?" Kendall asked with his head in the fridge.
"Yes please," I smiled and took a seat at the breakfast table.
"Let me do that!" Nathan frowned as he took the orange juice from his brother.
"So what are you guys doing now?" Kendall asked as he came to sit with me.
"Well I think we were-"
"None of your business." Nathan scowled at Kendall. Jeeze.
"Your doing training aren't you?" Mason raised his eyebrows. I quickly nodded in response before Nathan could see. "What is it with you wanting to train Gretch?"
"I don't know...incase I get kidnapped?" I shrugged.
"Kidnapped? Don't be so dramatic!" Kendall laughed, nearly falling off the stall in the process.
"Its true!" I pouted. "Or I could be drawn into a thug group, stabbed, taken hostage, murdered, hit by a car-"
"I think we've got the idea." Mason chuckled.
"You never know!" I laughed.
"Come on Gretch." Nathan tugged at my hand lightly carrying our drinks. I obliged and stood up and headed to the stairs but stopped when I heard footsteps behind me.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"We're coming too." Mason shrugged.
"No your not." Nathan gritted his teeth.
"Yes we are." Kendall argued.
"Can you just fuck off?" Nathan glared.
"No can do brother!" Kendall smirked as he grabbed me away from Nathan and slung me over his shoulder.
"Kendall!" I screamed as I was greeted with his butt. I quickly propped myself up and blew my hair out my face. He walked quickly down the hallway only giving me a glance of Nathan's outraged face. "Kendall you better put me down and run like hell."
"I can handle my brother." I heard him chuckle as he opened the door to the gym.
"Can you put me down now?" I asked. "I'm gonna get head rush."
"Fine." He plopped me down on the floor.
"Gee thanks." I rolled my eyes sarcastically. Nathan stormed in the gym and came to me first to help me up then he went and pushed his brother in the shoulder, hard.
"Its just banter Nathan!" Kendall laughed.
"Whoa whoa whoa!" I leapt in between them both and faced Nathan. "Its fine okay?" I soothed placing my hands on his rising chest. His eyes instantly softened as he looked to me. "Lets just start."
"Ok baby..." Nathan murmured before grabbing the supports for my hands.
"You wuss! Why do you need that!" Mason laughed.
"I have delicate knuckles, dipshit." I shot him a glare which only made him laugh harder. Darn boy.

We had quite a good session today and felt happy with my progress as well as Nathan. Kendall and Mason helped me a little today as well which encouraged me even more. Nathan had told me to take a shower in his bathroom so here I was drying myself with a towel. It smelt like him. I slipped on a silk light grey dress that he left out for me, kindly lent to me by his mother since she returned home about thirty minutes ago. I put my sandals back on and tied my hair up into a high ponytail. This summer night humidity was getting to me.
"Finished." I spoke as I exited the bathroom. "Whoa...." I stood as I took in Nathan's appearance. A crisp white shirt with black trousers and freshly polished shoes.
"Like what you see?" He teased. I had no words, all I could to was nod my head as I walked closer to him. "Not yet! You can't have dessert before your main course!" He warned and I pouted in response.
"We look a littler too fancy to have dinner here." I giggled.
"That's because we're not." He smirked. "I'm taking you out."
"Really?" I gasped.
"Yes. Lets go." He smiled holding out his arm for me.

The restaurant was divine. It was quite a big place, right slap bang in the middle of the high street, so I can't believe that I didn't know about this place.
"How's your chicken?" Nathan asked from across our table for two.
"Its so good!" I replied after taking a sip of my lemonade. "Although Bellamy puts marmite on it when we have chicken."
"Marmite?" He stared at me. Great, now he probably thinks I'm even more crazy.
"Yeah." I shrugged.
"Why are you acting like that's a normal thing?" He asked still staring.
"Because it is!" I laughed. "You'll have to try it sometime, in fact this Sunday! I think we're having roast chicken so you can come and experience it." I beamed at him.
"I might not be able to make it Sunday." Nathan answered.
"Whyyyy?" I groaned.
"Well even you might not be up for Sunday." He smiled. "My parents are out of town this weekend and my brothers have talked me into agreeing to have a party."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" I eyed him warily. All the parties I go too the hosts house always gets completely trashed. I wouldn't want that for the Blake brothers, particularly as their house was amazing and was now like a second home to me.
"I don't but I'm going to keep it under control." He smiled. "Everyone's invited."
"I'll let Grace, Andrew, Taylor and the others know." I smiled as I left the remaining food on my plate.
"Are you all finished?" Nathan asked smiling at the clear satisfied look that crossed my face.
"Very." I smiled. "Thank you. Although your not going to let me pay are you?"
"Your welcome and no, no I'm not. You can make it up to me later." He smirked.
"Deal." I laughed.
"If you see the waiter let me know, I'll call him over and ask for the bill." Nathan glanced round. I followed suit and looked for out waiter who had introduced himself as Arron. I scanned other tables when I saw a familiar face looking back at me. Nervously I looked away. Why the hell was Daniel here!
I mentally slapped myself. 'Pull yourself together Gretchen Rousso!' My subconscious scolded me. I needed to show him I was happy. I reached across the table and took Nathan's hand in my own.
"Your so funny!" I spoke loudly and laughed a girly laugh before looking back at Daniel and catching him watching.
"I uh, didn't say anything..." Nathan gave me a funny look he then followed my gaze to Daniel. Shit.
"Gretchen-"
"May I help you sir?" Our waiter Arron interrupted.
"Just the bill please." Nathan answered not taking his eyes off me. Arron pulled out the card machine and Nathan paid for the meal. We stood up and walked out of the restaurant together.
"Gretchen, what was that?" Nathan asked as he stopped before we got to his car.
"What was what?" I asked innocently.
"You know what."
"I- uh...."
"Who was the blond guy staring?" He cut right to the chase.
"Oh him? He...used to bully me in primary school...yeah!" I was surprised by how quickly I came up with an excuse. "I just wanted to show him that I'm over it and happy." I smiled as I watched Nathan's gaze soften.
"That's my girl." He pulled me to his chest and held me tight.
"Can I have my dessert now?" I asked peering up at him cheekily all I received back was a light chuckle and a kiss on the head.
