Chapter One
Mori's POV
I'm Mori Aikau, a 3rd year high school student at the newly built Kushenda Academy for Intelligent Individuals, also known as the KAII.
I walked down the seemingly endless hallway, passing students, who were gossiping and chatting. I wondered what is was like to have friends, and to be able to have a conversation.
I had always been lonely; my only company was my family, which are painfully annoying as it is. From my dimwitted father to my cold and unforgiving younger sister, my family was a mess.
I shrugged it off, walking into my class. My fellow students glanced at me before continuing their delightful chat.
I'd never been popular with the girls. They would whisper about me, words of pure admiration and adoration, but were to afraid to approach me, lest I ignored or rejected their politeness.
As I sat down, I stared out the window. Suddenly the class door burst open.
The interrupter was a short blue haired girl with glittering brown eyes. She was pretty; I had to admit, but I had since gave up on trying to find a girlfriend, or any type of friend for that matter.
"I'm sorry I'm late, teacher," the girl gasped, clearly exhausted from running. "I woke up late."
"That's fine, but be sure to be more punctual from now on," our teacher murmured, pushing her glasses over her face. "You're the new student right? How about you introduce yourself to the class?"
The girl nodded, her long blue hair swishing as she walked to the front of the room.
"Right. My name is Ayano Akagi. I have lived in Japan my whole life. That's pretty much all you need to know," she mumbled, walking to her seat. Which was.. Right beside me...
"Hey there!" She greeted me, her eyes shining brightly.
"Um, hi," I replied, not sure how to respond. Like I mentioned earlier, I had never had a friend.
"What's your name?" She asked, holding out her hand. "Um.. The name's Mori. Mori Aikau," I answered, warily shaking her small hand.
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Mori!" She laughed, smiling brightly.
"Let's be friends!" She added, a pleading look in her eyes.
"Ok," I whispered, secretly about to tell with happiness. I had finally found a true friend.
