the yellow tabby felt his tail dragging on the ground as he walked to the front of the clan. he didn't know what outcome it will all have, but it was for the best.

he dragged himself up the large boulder and turned to face the clan.

he spotted his daughter, lyrapaw, in the back with crocuspaw. she looked anxious and confused.

he spotted the yellow tabby pelt and bright red eyes of his only son, aven, eyes wide with suprise.

he closed his eyes for a moment before turning to goldenstar for reassurance. she gave a firm nod, and so he turned to face them yet again.

"as you all know... there's been... many murders among the clan." he started, not meeting anyone's stare.

"many cats have been keeping secrets..." he continued, shuffling his paws as be looked up at the setting sun.

he paused and looked at his clanmates faces. ripplewaves, pure hatred, her lip drawn out in a snarl, betrayal.

acornfang and breezetail. troublesome. worried.

goldenstar. sadness. regret.

duskpaw and hyenapaw. they wouldn't even meet his gaze.

this was for the best, right? what if i get exiled? what if they make me tell them who was all apart of it? what if they just kill me, or kill my family? i can't have anymore of that...

pain filled his head just remembering everything before she joined again.

"i- i was apart of it. i knew everything... but i stayed quiet. i told no one. i'm an idiot."

tears spilled down his cheeks as the clearing was silent for a moment.

he looked up. cats were staring at eachother in bewilderment.

"we called ourselves the mafia." he continued, looking a his paws.
