Winter thaws the heart

And winter freezes the sea,

To me, winter just lets me be. 


She covers the ground with whiteness

Pristine as the snowflakes,

She lowers the temperature around us

Letting us incubate.


She gets those fires burning

In the hearth and our heart, 

She loves to remind us

The chill that chills our bones.
 

She plays with us in the snowstorms

Whipping up our fantasies,

Of castles, princes and rainbows and magic

And all ecstasy.


She makes us debate

In the midst of a haze,

She sweeps the fog around us

Oh...whither do we stay?


 Winter says: I cover the world with white

And make you bide your time

Till you are ready to slay

The opportunities life throws your way
