START.
temptation was what started it all.
it was during summer when everything started to change.
jimin had been invited to sit together with some jocks at his new school, and after one look at a certain someone he had known when to say no. but on that day he didn't, he had nodded at them.
after he sat down, he felt his nerves acting up again. he didn't know if it was from the heat, or from the proximity of having so many people wanting to talk to him so soon. in his old school, no, in his old school, no one had ever invited him anywhere.
perhaps it was because of his natural, awkwardly self. if he had a penny for everytime he had been told about how undeniably boring he was, he'd most definitely be rich by now.
he wondered why these jock-like guys seemed to note him as confident the first time they saw him. but jimin should've known. his appearance never seemed to cooperate with his inner self anyway.
so when he sat down, jimin didn't open his mouth to talk. didn't even try to make eye contact.
"hey, man. are you mute or something?"
"he asked you a question." someone laughed a high-pitched laugh then, and jimin couldn't help but gulp. he steadily averted his eyes upwards, though he was unready to face cunning, amused eyes. on him.
"who did?" he said. but jimin thought that his voice sounded anything but confident. in fact, he probably sounded like a mouse. a small notification ding. a squeak.
someone laughed again, and jimin turned. "i did."
jimin felt his lips twitch upon seeing this fellow's face. huge, baby-like eyes, yet a tanned, handsome face. "i'm minho. i asked for your name." he grinned.
"oh, uh." jimin's cheeks went warm. "minho."
he said.
jimin wanted to slap himself right then and there. why the hell did he say minho? "your name is minho, too?" minho laughed, eyebrows raising high. "nice!"
"hey, minho!"
"yooo, minho! what's your surname, man?"
"choi minho? lee minho?"
"where you from, dude? you are one handsome fella."
the questions kept on coming, and jimin was appalled at the amount of it being directed at him. had never experienced this kind of situation before. had never experienced anything like this before.
he was probably a sore loser.
he cleared his throat loudly, and the questions slowly stopped coming. then he pursed his lips, blinking, "my name is park jimin. not minho."
"oh? park jimin?" another guy said, then he grinned. he had a really pretty face for a guy, jimin thought. "yah, then why did you say your name was minho? i'm baekhyun by the way!"
jimin hadn't been given enough time to reply before someone else butted in. "jiminie!"
his head turned to the hyper voice that had called him.
now, this guy had a blue headband around his head. had tanned-like skin, and a funny, rectangular smile on his face right now. he simply looked like he craved fun.
"can i call you that?"
jimin started, but even after he nodded and felt himself grinning so widely, the guy had already stood up and went to sit on the space beside him. and all jimin could think about the whole time he took his time to come was how absolutely skinny this guy looked.
he'd wanted to do one of those funny things he saw in the books, the main character having to hold in a laugh and bite back a nasty remark about someone's personality or appearance. then again, jimin knew he didn't have to do even that. he felt no nasty remark from himself.
he suddenly felt an arm around his shoulders then, comfortably pulling him closer to the headband dude, and jimin half-reluctantly gives in. "i'm taehyung! great to meet you." taehyung beamed widely, seeming vibrant.
jimin tried to turn his head to look at him, despite the messy amount of sweat that had probably formed on his already perspiring face. when he succeeded, jimin realized that he was still smiling, but he really couldn't stop even if he wanted to.
he didn't want to know why he was smiling so hard.
"yah, kim taehyung! stop scaring him!" baekhyun said, "five minutes into this and you're already hugging him like he's your new best friend or something."
taehyung giggled, shrugging, before crushing jimin closer to his face. jimin blushed at the small contact of his face and his, but tried to hide it by coughing.
"i do this all the time." taehyung replied to his friend, hanging there for a few more seconds before eventually letting go.
"no you don't." someone scoffed, and jimin looked up to see another guy with a tray in his hands. he had a huge scowl on his face and dark hair that looked like it had been pasted temporarily onto his forehead. although jimin thought he looked kind of cutesy despite the fact that he was scowling, he finally felt himself bite back a remark.
"jungkookie!" taehyung yelled as the guy took a seat next to minho, it was where taehyung had sat before he moved.
jimin's ears had perked up at the 'ie' of jungkook's name. he didn't know why he felt a slight disappointment when he heard it, and couldn't help it, anyway. he guessed taehyung wasn't just friendly with the boring, awkward fella.
"don't call me that." jungkook snapped, eyes on the unaffected taehyung.
"i do what i want." taehyung replied, making a satisfied face as he said so. jimin chuckled at his response.
"jeon jungkook." minho began, "when have we ever seen you smile?"
"i'll smile when it's necessary."
"hey, meet jimin. he's new, just moved from.." taehyung trailed off, blinking at jimin.
"daegu." jimin replied, and the mention of his former city causes his heart to falter a little as he remembered the memories behind a simple word.
"daegu! damn," taehyung exclaimed, and jungkook raised his eyebrows at the brown haired jimin. "daegu! damn? welcome."
"that was lame." baekhyun commented, munching on his food.
"shut up, baekhyun."
baekhyun attempted to munch louder. minho smacked the back of his head. "yah!"
"um, are you guys like, jocks? or something like that?" jimin questioned nervously, glancing at all of their faces.
"jocks? oh, no." minho laughed, "we're nothing like jocks. where did you even get that idea?" he laughed again, this time taehyung and baekhyun joining in to laugh. jimin even caught jungkook snickering.
"obviously it was because of my good looks." taehyung rolled his eyes playfully.
"if acting like a five-year-old actually gets you somewhere in the future, taehyung, phone me and tell me your ways then. for now, i stand by my decision and object to your statement." jungkook stated monotonously, half-lidded eyes on taehyung.
"i said good looks! whatever you just said had no-- no-- link whatsoever!"
minho cackled loudly. "i don't really think there are jocks here. right?"
"nah, there aren't. but nerds are present, if you want it that way." taehyung wiggled his eyebrows at jimin, and jimin's eyes widened.
"yah!" baekhyun exclaimed.
jimin just laughed at their interaction, oblivious to the way jungkook had been eyeing him ever since he sat down.
perhaps it was from curiosity. jungkook had noticed the way jimin seemed to shy himself away from several things. like when someone asked him a question, he'd gulp inaudibly before answering, and when taehyung moved even an inch closer, he'd jump and it'd look like his breath had hitched and he'd drop dead immediately.
jungkook didn't know why he bothered to inspect.
"you're in my class, right?" jungkook said, eyes on jimin. "let's go." he stood up from his seat, tray in his hands.
jimin's eyes were wide when they landed on jungkook's. and it's like jungkook suddenly realizes what he was doing.
that was the thing. what was he doing?
jungkook was starting to feel himself blush when jimin stood up slowly, his tray in his hands, too. "uh, yeah, okay." jimin muttered, eyes unsteady.
jungkook frowned, lips pursed. then he nodded, before walking off from the table. jimin was about to follow behind, when he felt someone tugging on his blazer.
he looked down at to see taehyung, hus face serious. "better catch up fast." jimin was worried for a moment, what was he talking about?
and then. "how the hell is he going to catch up when you're holding him back?" baekhyun sounded, and that was when taehyung started grinning.
jimin blushed again, eventually running off when taehyung lets go.
when jimin caught sight of jungkook's familiar back, he breathed in.
he was about to reach out to him, maybe do a little shoulder touch to let jungkook know he was following behind indeed.
but the sudden shriek from jungkook had him jumping from fear.
and before he knew it, jungkook turned to give him a cold, hard stare. jimin's breath stuttered as he started to take unwavering steps toward him.
"..jungkook?"
the students around them had stopped to stare. to witness. jimin felt like throwing up from the sudden attention.
he moved back,
and jungkook's head cracked open. then blood was pouring out of his uneven mouth, and his eyes were coming out of their sockets. his body fell limp onto the hard floor, it now lying in a pool of blood. what the fu
