Five days passed since Sana saw that horrifying and mysterious silhouette through the window, that night. Now both of them were pretty sure that Sana was purely mistaken that day hence  they believed that it was just a fragment of her imagination. Everything seemed to turn back to normal or maybe some new stories were about unveil.

It was one late afternoon when Sana came home early from work. She worked as an architect  for Nisel designs which demanded her to travel across the country as per her job requirement and her passion towards her work. Previously she was posted in Lahore for about five months, recently she was transferred to Islamabad office to work on an important project and lead it as it's head.

Sana and Afzaal got married two years back. Their story was a perfect example of love at first sight, their first encounter was during their early job days when both of them shared the common route to their workplaces. Their love story took spike when one day they missed their bus and walked their way back home.

This way they got a chance to swap phone numbers and a few more unplanned meetings were enough to make them realize that they were head over heels for each other. At that time both of them stayed in Islamabad until Sana got promoted a year after their marriage  and had to follow her ruthless routine which required her to keep switching cities probably for the next eight months.

Afzaal had to keep up with his medical practice and after trying a lot he couldn't change cities to be with Sana. Hence they would stay in different cities until Sana could finally settle for Islamabad office. Thus from that day they would try their level best to meet up for weekends to make up with their relationship.

Inspite of the strict work boundaries between them they still managed to keep up with their marriage.

After two or three weeks either one of them would visit the other partner. So the things were going well between them, they  still loved each other!

FLASHBACK

Afzaal POV
At half past nine in the night, I got out of my car after I parked it in the porch. I then noticed  through the uncovered windows to the house that there was no electricity but I could already see a small candle lit in the living room and Sana was casually roaming around while her phone pinned to her left ear. She would keep changing ears while she roamed around the house.
She was wearing a gold loose top with a loose trouser of a similar but lighter tone. Her hair were clipped at the back of her head such that it tangled with her butterfly earings.

I smiled admiring her features, her hair partially falling on her neck, her sweaty face shining under the dim candle light , her cranky expressions and the way she bit her lips habitually. And above all her smudged makeup made her look extremely gorgeous as if she were the most adorable person in the world or specifically the most beautiful person to my world.

After few minutes of staring at her just like a roadside romeo, I finally decided to step inside. I walked inside softly, trying not to make any sound as I wanted to surprise her, I continued to walk towards the door.

I unlocked it calmly, walked inside pushing the door open and locked it back. There was now pin drop silence, I believe she had hung up on that phone call by now.

I softly walked towards the dimly lit room, peeking through the door, I saw her looking right into her phone, completely engrossed in it, swiping through the apps.

I hurried myself with quiet baby steps towards her and stood right at her back. I quickly grabbed her into a big huge hug.

"Ah..Ah...," Sana screamed instinctively and immediately turned around, still bound in my tight grip.
"Afzaal!" She said and joined in the hug with me.

"You scared the hell out of me." Sana confessed as we broke the hug.
"Yes I know that." I replied proudly pulling up my collar and she childishly punched my left arm and I primly caught her by hand again and pulled her onto the nearby couch.

She let out a laugh.
"Afzaal!" She laughed again, slaying me multiple times in a row like always.
"I am tired." I said while stretching my legs on the floor and closing my eyes to relax.
"Need something?" She asked me and I instantly opened up my eyes.
"Yes." I told her and she gestured with with her killer eyes asking me what.

"You, just stay by my side." and in no time she wrapped her fingers around my arm.
"Better?" She asked sarcastically.
"Yes." I answered laughing at it.

"By the way, did you noticed the power cut?" Sana broke the prolonged silence after a couple of minutes.
"Ahan yes I did." I told her looking around and for real acknowledging the power cut because the matter of fact is I was too busy with Sana that I barely cared about the power cut. All I cared about was her being with me!

"Any idea what could have caused it?" She asked while still in my arms.

"Hmmm no. Did you call the electricity department?" I asked her trying to look serious as if I cared about it.
"I tried to but I couldn't find the number." She added.

"Oh I changed the cupboard setting. The bills are in the lower cabinet below the stairs." I told her and she rushed towards the cabinet, shuffling the stuff in the cabinet.

I stood up and walked sluggishly to her. I opened up the right drawer and pulled out a bunch of papers which she snatched from me.

"Oh you said cabinet didn't you?" She mocked at me while going through the papers.
"The drawer is the part of cabinet, isn't it." I produced a suitable reply within seconds.

"Whatever!" She walked away and I as always followed her obediently to the living room.
"The landline or the cell ?" She asked and I pointed to the cell.
She ran to the other room to fetch her phone. She came back with stampeding steps clutching phone in her right hand.

She quickly dialed the number and pinned the phone to her right ear. I was standing in front of her constantly observing her.

Suddenly the place lightened up, apparently the electricity was back. Both of us looked around and acknowledged the situation. I smiled in relief and she disconnected the call.

She moved a step forward when something jingled with the hard sole of her black flat shoes. She looked down irritatingly and abruptly came to a halt, staring at the floor.

"What happened?" I asked her, looking down at the floor.
She glared at me again in amazement or to be more accurate, in terror.
It was a silver grey dagger with huge, sharp, pointed blade.

"Where did this come from?" She asked immediately stepping back from it in fright.

"I don't know. I don't own it." I replied as I picked it up carefully observing it.
"Don't!" she shouted while got my hands on it.
"It's okay." I replied as I continued to examine it.
Just then my sixth sense kicked in and I involuntarily turned around towards the main door. I held the knob and rotated it, it moved without any friction which means the door was unlocked.

"You didn't locked the door when you entered?" She asked me staring at me with her big eyes.
"I did." I blurted out and she gave me another frightened glare.

In less than a minute we rushed outside, looking around to get any clue about who entered our house and left that deadly weapon in there.

"There is no one." Sana said as we circled the main road.
"Who could it be?" I questioned while we walked inside the house, making sure to lock the door.

"When you came home today, did you see this dagger?" I asked Sana who had settled down on the couch  anxiously.
"No. I came back at five pm. The door was locked and there was no dagger." She narrarated.

"Hmmm." I replied plainly.
"Then the electricity went out at eight pm, I was using my phone all the time and then you came." She added crossing her hands.

"Electricity doesn't go like this here except in bad weather." I told her while taking seat next to her.
"What do you mean?," She asked while crossing her legs.
"Is it a case of attempt to robbery?" She continued eyeing me constantly.

"No it isn't robbery. It's something else." I proclaimed and she looked at me confusingly.
