DING.....
Elevator door opens and people start to flood out of the opening followed by Maria dressed in beige, buttoned at the ankles trousers with a pink patterned shirt and a similar beige dupatta draped from her right shoulder to her cuffs.
Her hair was tied in a elegant fish braid while her face moderately covered in a dull pink blush with slight tinge of  nude eyeshadow on her pale eyes and a light coat of pink gloss on her lips with a white handbag dangling from her left hand.

She was dressed well today just to make up for her doomed appearance especially in front of the Doctor. She really wanted to make a good impression in front of that person who is going to treat her, beacause the first impression is the last impression!

She exited the elevator and took the very first turn towards the left and kept walking smoothly, observing the walls simultaneously. Her sweet sounding heels clicked on the black and white tiled floor as she marched through the busy corridors of the building with whitish grey walls, spotless white tiled floor and the roof covered with loads of white lights.

Along with this there were a few dark blue benches beside the walls. She moved towards the broad grey reception desk right in front of her, carefully handling her handbag. She stopped at the desk and the woman authorised, dressed formally turned to her and greeted her with a bright smile.

She nervously smiled back and pulled out a file from her handbag, without saying anything and presented it to her trying to built up minimal conversation.

She took the file, opened the flap, went through the first page of it and showed it to the woman.

"Hmm. You can go inside, it's the third cabin on the left." she told her while returning the file which Maria held in her right hand tightly and nodded.

She took a deep breath without showing her nervousness to people around her. She looked around as she followed the receptionist's directions, straight then left. She took another left opposite to the staircase. She then turned to the cabins at her left, counting them as she had to be at the third cabin.

She also read the names of the officials written in bolds on the cabin doors. Just then she came to an expected halt in front of the third cabin glancing at the name written on the door in bolds followed by itallic subtitle.

"Dr Afzaal Shah," she read the name in low tone so that it was only audible to herself.

"The psychiatrist." she read the two bold italic words written below the name. She calmed herself down, and took another deep breath while adjusting her hair and her bag.
She finally managed to gather the confidence to enter the room. So she did pushed the door open, entering the room and left the door to automatically swung close.

Maria POV
I finally stepped inside the cabin of Dr Afzaal though the creme walls of the rectangular shaped room and the fragrance in that room probably of some disinfectant in the air was already haunting me. In order to behave a little bit of less weird and look less like a weirdo, I started to further observe the room so that I get distracted.

The room was very clean, I must say the floor was sparkling white as well as the curtains. Beside the right wall, a desk was placed topped with a few files, a black cell phone, a watch, a writing pad etc. Behind the desk was a grey black chair turned towards the wall. All I could see was the head of the person seated on it.

He looked like he had light brown thick wavy hair, and was of a good height and strong physique.
"Ahem ahem." I coughed lightly and in less than a moment the person swung his chair facing me directly. He was a tall and had a slim physique with a round clean shaved face with fair complextion, plain grey eyes and black hair.

"Aoa Miss Maria Yousuf, right." he greeted me with a comforting expression as he folded his hands on the desk.
"Woa." I replied awkardly.
"Please have a seat." he gestured me to take the seat in front of him and the desk. I slowly moved ahead and took the seat placing my handbag and file on the desk.
"Water?" He asked me as he presented me a glass filled with water.
"No thankyou." I refused.
"So how are you feeling?" he calmly asked me.

"Not very well. From about a few months I have been observing severe headaches, sleepless days and nights, unexpected sweating and shivering and some known and some unknown flashbacks.....or visions .. ..
I dont exactly know" I detailed him on my symptoms. He noted down each and every word of mine on the notepad and again turned back to me.

"Okay, but we'll have to start from the very start of it." he said as he rolled his pen sprightly and I stared at him in puzzlement.
"Let's start with the introduction first." he added while closing his notepad and I smiled hesitatingly.

"Okay, I am Maria Yousuf." I started.
"Hmm I am Afzaal Shah, I work as a psychiatrist here." he continued giving another playful smile to which I laughed out a bit.

"I am a university student, ." I told him.
"How much I hated my university years," he murmered and I laughed again.
"So basically I am from karachi but I came to islamabad for medical college. Then I stayed back for my specialisation and job." he said.
"I belong to islamabad only, my both parents are from islamabad" I answered.

"What about your family?" I asked him.
"Well, my parents still live in Karachi with my younger siblings, one sister and one brother. I live alone as my wife is out of city at the moment due to her job. And yours?" he replied elaborately.

"I have a younger brother, Haider who is in college. We live with our mother. My parents divorced few years back, though we do meet him twice or sometimes thrice a week." I honestly answered at my turn.

"Sorry to know that." he apologised.
"No problem." I replied. "So what do you plan on doing in future?" he asked me casually.

"Umm honestly I haven't thought about it yet," I told and we started to laugh.
"I believe I have got few years of my studies to decide it." I completed as I got myself back from laughing.
"You seem like a chill person." he complemented.

"Yeah, though my mother hates this thing about me." I said.
"Mothers always hate such thing." he whispered to me sarcastically.
"Well I guess we have had enough of the introduction, let's get back to work." he proposed.

"Yes you are right. It's been alot..," I replied as I gazed my watch.
"It's been almost twenty minutes." I acknowledged.

"Yeah. It's my problem, I talk alot," he said while reopening his notepad.
"So Miss Maria, I have gone through your file but I need you to tell me" he started.

"Tell what?" I asked him.
"Your previous history," he finished and folded his arms like a proffesional on his chest and rested his back on his chair.

"I read that you have been through severe depression few years back. What happened?" he asked me and I nodded.

Though matter of fact is that I am never very comfortable discussing my past with anyone but I feel like I can talk to him. He doesn't seem to cause me the usual anxiety and that pain I go through when ever I think about it.
