A/N: The prologue will be about the legends for both the birth of the Jersey Devil as well as Jezebel's birth given her Jeckadrend form, because of that form people have legends about her as well and I thought it would be cool to start the story off with legends about both creatures just so you are all aware.

      It all began not with our main character of this story but with the secondary one in 1735 when a women by the name of Mother Leeds found herself pregnant for the thirteenth time. Just so we are all aware, back then it was common for women to have a large amount of children however Mother Leeds was not living a wealthy lifestyle and was thought to be practicing dark subjects and her husband was a drunk who made few attempts to help care for her and her twelve children. Reaching the point of absolute exasperation it is said that she raised her hands to the heavens and proclaimed "Let this one be a devil". Months later, Mother Leeds went into labor on a stormy night and was no longer mindful of the curse she had uttered regarding her unborn child and she gave birth to a healthy blond haired, blue-eyed boy. However, unfortunately for her, the curse she bestowed upon her new baby was soon fulfilled as they boy's eyes soon turned burning red while his hair suddenly grew coarse and black as coal. His skin became leathery as two wings soon sprouted from his back while his nose turned into a snout and his feet morphed into cloven hooves. Legends differ after this arguing that be baby killed his mother, killed everyone present, just flew away in the chimney or was locked up and flew away sometime later. For centuries since then locals have claimed that something stalked the Pine Barrens and ever since then locals still claim to see a creature they can't explain. This creature is known by many names but is most famously known as the Jersey Devil.

     For decades this creature was thought to be the only crypid stalking the Pine Barrens and the surrounding area until October 31st, 1996 when another crypid was born to Jaclyn Ashlyn, a very well known shapeshifter who could unwillingly turn into a fire demon herself and Jacob Ashlyn. Since this baby was a shapeshifer like her mother it took her until the new moon of that month to shapeshift into a monster that locals call the Jeckadrend. It is said that shortly after Jaclyn gave birth to her healthy baby girl that she ended up dying of unknown causes, some believing that the baby transformed earlier and killed her mother just like the Jersey Devil is said in some legends to have done so. Because of that people began to become afraid of the full and new moon phases since that is when it is said that the baby, could first transform herself into the Jeckadrend. It is also said that when she turned fifteen that her father, Jacob abandoned her at the house he and Jacklyn owned since he grew afraid of her and six years later is where this story truly begins...
