She watched as Thompson headed towards the fire escape. He climbed up a few stories before slipping into a window of a building. She looked away, shying away from the heat of the fire. The man behind her grunted out a noise as she accidentally laid against him in her attempts to distance herself from the flame.
"Looks like she'll be okay with it," the man called out to his buddies. They all chuckled in response. He reached around from behind, trailing his fingers up her stomach before fondling her breasts. She jerked away from his touch, pure horror and hatred filling her features.
"Oh, someone's going to be feisty!" another guy hollered out. "I don't think she'll be as willing as you think, Mac." At the time, Thompson returned with the duct tape. She struggled against them at the sound of the duct tape unraveling filled her ears. They wrapped tight bounds against her wrist. Sun felt her resolve slowly start to break as she realized there was no way out of this. Tears leaked from her eyes and pleas for release spewed from her mouth. They fell to deaf ears as the men began to pin her to the ground.
She thrashed and screamed until both her legs were secured down by strong grips. Her hands were yanked above her head, rendering her defenseless. She wept, barely babbling out "no" over and over again as the unbuttoned her jeans and slid the zipper down. She tossed her head to the side, crying for help as the cold air hit her abdomen. Her pants were pushed down past her knees. She closed her knees together in an attempt to ward off the invading men. Hands pried them apart. Chilly fingers pushing her underwear aside. She let out a fearful whimper as the feeling of defilement washed over her in waves.

Then suddenly he stopped. Her glassy eyes widened in confusion, as a loud shot rang out. The man dropped dead, his limp body landing haphazardly over her legs. Her capturers let go of her at once, raising their guns towards the skyline. Sun wriggled up, tucking in on herself. She shielded her body from the outside, loud cries ripping from her lips.
Another shot went off, and the next man dropped to the ground, his lifeless eyes staring blankly into nothing. She winced again. As the remaining two men wildly searched for their attacker, she used the time to pull her pants back on, fastening the button and closing her zipper. She took in obnoxious breaths through her nose, the stuffy sound coming out. She scooted herself against the nearest wall, bringing her knees to her chin. She shook violently, hoping that she would be left alone.
Soon enough, not a single person remained around except for her. She flinched at the sound of someone climbing down the fire escape. Footsteps rushed across the square towards her, and she forced herself into a smaller ball, hoping they wouldn't come for her.
"Oh, Sun..." She heard him breath out from above her. She hesitantly raised her head a bit, her red face and bloodshot eyes shocking him. He had never seen her so broken. He scooped her up, resting his back against the building side. She fought his grip, tearing at his arms as she screamed and cried for him to let go. He clenched his jaw to keep in his emotions as he held her tightly to him. He tilted his head towards the sky, closing his eyes. He fought away the tears that pricked at his eyes. If only I got to the roof sooner. He blamed himself for what happened to her.
Slowly her fight drained away. She curled against his chests, sobs wracked her body as she clung to his shirt. He brought his head down to her's, rubbing her arm, and pulling her closer.
"I'm so sorry..." he whispered in her ear over and over again. He murmured sweet nothings as he cradled her. Little by little, her hysterics ebbed away into small hiccups.
"I can't take this, Alex," she managed out. The thick, almost painful feeling rose up the back of her throat, and it kept her from saying more. She buried her face into his chest more so as she shook.
"Don't try to talk. It's okay, I don't expect you to do anything," he shushed her. He looked around, noticing the girl that led them into this mess slinking along in the shadows. He growled under his breath, raising his gun up. Without a second thought, he fired the gun. The girl looked up in alarm before scampering out of the area with a yelp of fear. He sighed out loudly through his nose as Sun winced at the sound of the gunshot.
"You came back," she choked out. "I thought you abandoned me."
"Of course not, Sun," he started. He pulled back a bit, forcing her to turn and look him in the eyes. He couldn't help but pity the woman that was falling a part in front of him. "You're the light that guides me through this." He wiped at her cheeks, brushing away the tears. He could tell she stiffened a little under his contact, but refrained from pulling away. He pulled his hands away.
"How can I be your light, when mine has stopped working long ago?" she asked him meekly. He smiled slightly at her, pushing a stray hair from her face.
"Because I have trust in you. Just like you have trust in me." His smile fell as he looked her seriously in the eyes. "I swear on my life, I will never let something bad happen to you again, you got that? You will never experience anything like this." She nodded her head numbly. She took in a deep breath checking out her surroundings. Her eyes stopped short on the men's bodies, and another wave of shivers raked over her body. Alex grabbed her face, pulling it back to him, causing her to look away.
"I'm not letting you stay here another minute." He stood up, grabbing her hand to have her stand with him. He walked over to one of the beds, grabbing her supplies and gun. He slung her backpack on before carrying her gun as well.
"I can take those," she stammered out awkwardly, shuffling her feet. He sent her a sharp look.
"No," he stated. He walked back to her, ushering her out of the square. "You're not carrying these for a while."
