Puffy, purple-tinted clouds zipped past me as I flew through the pitch black sky. I was on my gilder in the air, zooming through the night sky. I was heading to The Enemy's headquarters, following the directions the holographic map on the side of the glass area of my helmet were giving me. Although it would've been scary if I was going to the place I was least expected to go due to past experiences, I was not that shaken. I was at peace that I was all alone in the moment--it's nice to be alone for once after being around people day after day after day. I can never go an hour without seeing a person in that base unless I was sleeping... Even when I was sleeping I couldn't go an hour without seeing someone in the base!
There was a patch of emptiness beneath the clouds that showed me what was below me. I gazed down to the right of my hover board, seeing blackness below me; no lights, nothing. That meant that I was over an unpopulated place; typical for a villain to have his lair established in.
I made a rounded right, following the directions. I began slanting downward while turning, since I was nearing the lair. The clouds pulled backwards as I zoomed toward the ground so that I could get under the clouds.
After passing the clouds, I positioned my glider parallel to the ground so that I could go back to my normal speed. Now with the light that was emitting from my glider, I was able to see the ground below me: brown, rushing dirt that was cracked up and dried. 'Ой,' I thought to myself as I reverted my sight back in front of me. Yikes. I shook off the fear and uncertainty that was growing inside of me, since I did not come this far just to turn back and go back to the base. "Я могу это сделать... я пойду к нему и он принесет мне вернуться к нормальной." I can do this...I will go to him and make him bring me back to normal.
I then saw something massive coming into view in front of me. I saw an enormous, dark rectangular building with some windows and a door; that was all I was able to make out in the dark.
I began decelerating as I approached the looming building. I made a complete stop in front of the door and with a sigh, landed on the ground. I applied pressure against the glider with my foot, making it fold underneath and into my boots. Once I touched the ground, I pressed the side of my helmet; it folded into my suit.
I was now able to feel the air that was in the atmosphere: cold and crisp, giving me the feeling that my ears and nose would turn red with coldness like how they usually do. I breathed out a puff of warm air and began making my way toward the door.
Before I was able to halt in front of it, it opened on its own and someone came out of it: The Enemy. It was like as if he was waiting for me.
"Aw, Sasha, you couldn't keep away from me, right?" he told me in a sing-songy voice as he walked up to me; he had his hands clasped behind his back.
"I'm not here to be your hostage--I come here for you to take this away." I pressed a button on my right glove and it deactivated in pixels, revealing my bare hand. I extended it toward him, making sure that he could see the glass fully.
The Enemy gazed at my hand with narrowed eyes and an expression of confusion. "You want me to take your hand?"
"Glass!" I spat out while shaking my hand in front of him vigorously. "I have glass on my hands! I have glass on my body! I want it gone!"
"Aw-ho, poor Sasha, feeling the affects of his powers!" He lifted his heels off the ground with his hands in his dark-coloured pants' pockets, then placed them back down. "You know, those are part of your powers: to turn into glass," he informed me in a serious, low tone.
My eyes flew open with shock. "I don't want to turn into glass!" I shrieked. "I want to be human, not a glass statue!!!"
"Sh, sh, sh..." The Enemy faced the palms of his hands out in front of me, motioning me to quiet down. "You can control the glass--you have glass manipulation, just like you can create glass, you can also manipulate it."
"I tried to manipulate it, but I can't!" I stomped my foot on the dusty ground with my hands in fists. "I tried to do the same thing you told me to do when I created glass, but it didn't work! I want you to take away this glass!"
He cocked an eyebrow while tilting his head to the left. "So you don't want your glass powers?"
"NO! I want to be normal! I don't want this! I didn't ask for it!"
"You don't want to be supernatural? You don't want to be superior among normal human beings?"
I drowned my ire in deep thought. Yeah, I want to be superior... But not when I can't control the my powers! "Yeah," I replied, "I want to be superior."
"See?" He nodded his head. "So keep your powers."
"But I want you to heal me--I want you to help me control the powers. You gave me the powers, right?"
"Errr...not technically speaking, to be honest." He gritted his teeth.
I made a puzzled look. "Wha?"
"Buuut, I'll be more than happy to help you with whatever you need help with!"
"Okay, thank you." I nodded a bit. "So, how can you take this glass away?" I waved my bare hand in front of him.
"Well..." He seemed tentative while thinking of what to say. "...you can stay here...and I'll take the glass away, okay?"
"Stay here?" I pointed to the ground. "Here? No. I don't want to."
"Okay then, in that case, you'll just have to deal with that!" The Enemy shrugged, turned around, and began walking back to the door.
No, no, no, no! I need him to heal me! I want this glass to not be visible! But I don't want to stay...unless I do stay and during that time...I can learn more about him and how he...yes, how he knew that my parents didn't want me! I can learn more about him so that we can defeat him! Okay.
I took in a deep breath and straightened myself up, staring straight at The Enemy as he began walking through the door. "Fine," I told him sternly. "I'll stay here. And you'll heal me."
He gradually turned around to face me; a smirk was on his face. "Good, I'm glad you took my offer. Come on in, Sasha." He then walked into the building.
With a shaky breath in, I followed him toward the door and stepped into his lair with the door automatically closing behind me.
There was no turning back.
