Chapter 24
Writing spreeeee~
Let's goooooooooooooooo
Travis' POV
Gods it was a long restless night. I woke up in the morning feeling shitty and praying it was all a dream and that Nico was still in his cabin, or better yet in our arms. I groan, sitting up and seeing Connor pacing back and forth, coffee cup on the table and his eyes were bloodshot.
"Connor?" I ask and he freezes.
"I-I couldn't sleep and I didn't know what to do I'm worrying so much oh gods Travis I'm so scared where could he be when can we leave I can't sit here all day I want to find him we need to go." He said worriedly and fast.
"Hey, calm down." I say, holding his shoulders. "We're gonna eat, pack up, and go talk to Hades ok?"
"Yeah." He said, calming down.
"Have some breakfast and take a nap while I get everything ready." I tell him, getting our backpacks.
He nods and trudges to the little kitchen we had in here, putting some cereal before sitting down and eating. I take a breath before grabbing two changes of clothes for each of us, along with ambrosia, nectar, and other essentials. I grab my belt of knives, rolling it up and putting it into my bag as well as getting my swords and then putting Connor's sword and two daggers by his bag. Connor was knocked out on the couch, snoring away and I chuckled, getting something quick to eat. I settle on eating a muffin, munching on it happily while thinking of anything else we'll need. It seemed like we had everything, I remembered the magic containers that we had stolen on one quest we did, it was similar to the cornucopia, never ending food and drink. The bags were packed, I was semi rested, Connor was napping, and we had Nico to find. I just hope he's ok. Why would this whole mess even happen? Like for gods sake it was eilodons we're up against. Why did Piper have to be studying fashion design in France? She could've been such a big help now but noooo.. She completely turned herself around and let Drew get her into fashion.
~time skipz~
Connor woke up a couple hours later, yelling at me for not waking him sooner. I groan, trying to tell him it was only noon and he needed rest if we were to go. He eventually gave up and calmed down, us both washing up before grabbing the bags and leaving the cabin. We go through the woods and into the big house, Chiron waiting for us on the porch.
"Rachel has a prophecy." He says.
"This is gonna be that big of a deal?" I question.
He nods and we sigh, going inside to see her. She was just sitting on the couch, eyes closed and some green glow radiated off her.
"Rachel?" Connor asks.
Her eyes snap open, bright green and glowing. Smoke surrounds us as she starts the prophecy.
Restless spirits cloud a mind
Of one going through troubled times
Round and round the body goes
Enduring a fight between two ghosts
Two will save him
But unknown to all
Will it end with three or none at all?
Her eyes go back to their natural green-brown color and she takes a breath. "A lot of emotions in that one." Rachel mutters.
"Gods I never thought it'd be this big." I sigh.
"Nico..." Connor whispers, wiping his eyes.
"We need to get to Hades. Now." I say.
Chiron pointed us towards the nearest entrance, wishing us luck. We quickly head off, making it to the entrance in about thirty minutes. I open it up and we make our way down, Connor holding the flashlight. I was glad I packed drachmas to give to Charon, that dude was as creepy as ever. He takes us to Hades palace and me and Connor quickly run inside.
"Ah, I wasn't expecting guests." Hades muttered as we entered.
"My lord I don't know if you noticed but Nico's missing." Connor said.
"Yes I've noticed. As soon as I manage to pinpoint him, he vanishes again, appears either across the country or on the other side of the world." Hades sighed. "He either doesn't want to be found or there's another eilodon."
"Its option two." I say, handing him the note Nico.. It had left us.
"Oh my." He said. "I'll inform the other gods. This pest problem is getting out of hand. I'm not letting some rat of a spirit get away with possessing my son."
"Do you not know what's really going on or are you ignoring it?" Persephone asked, walking in. "He's shadow traveling at least seven times a day. Its going to end up killing him. He's not getting food, water or any form of rest from what we know. Give him three, maybe four days before he's done."
"Excuse me?!" Connor exclaims, trembling slightly.
"If you don't find him soon and kill that thing, it'll kill him." She said.
Connor bit his lip hard before turning and clutching onto me, choking back sobs. "W-We can't lose h-him Travis."
"We won't." I reassure. "We'll find him."
Nico's POV (I'm an awful person, I know)
Gods it feels like its been so long but its only been a day. I don't recognize the places I'm being forced to so its all useless. Most of the time its in alleyways or in dark, cold places. I was shaking as rain poured down around me. My throat was so dry I actually tilted my head up to catch the water in my mouth.
Desperate and weak after such a short period of time. I wonder how long you'll last.
I wasn't dealing with it right now. I didn't care. Everything ached and I was trembling, not even able to call for help.
Just think about it... In the end you'll be with all the people who've died to our plans. Yet at least its people you love.
Gods just leave me alone... Please...
You're fading fast and it's only been a day. You might end up as a spirit, forced to wander as your body is taken from you.
I can't feel anything.. Please no.. I can't do it... Not again.. Please...
Begging will not help you now.
It took over and we shadow traveled far away from where ever we were before cause as soon as I land I pass out.
Yeahhh
So many feels I know
