Halloween Chapter
(Hey there, I think for every holiday I'm going to make up a character that you'll only ever hear about on that day. So you've met Klaus, now meet the Halloween one: Trick!)
Today was the day you've been waiting for. One of the only days a year you could be anything you weren't and get candy out of it. The day that prided yourself on for having a great costume.
It was Halloween.
You arose incredibly early and was ready for the night to come. When you batted your eyes into consciousness, you glanced to the ordinary black and white clock stationed on the wall.
6:20.
Oh. You had 12 hours until you could go trick-or-treating. Guess you could use this time to think about why you're in high school and still trick-or-treating. You guess because it was fun. And because it had reminded you of Trick.
Before you could even think back to your memories of him, the door creaked open, just large enough for Kale to go through. You met each other's eyes and he pursed his lips and brought a finger to them to signify, 'Quiet.'
You raised an eyebrow, but obeyed, watching as he made his way to your bed. He leaned in toward you, and next to your ear whispered, "There's some fucking weirdo outside."
You choked back a laugh and gave him a look. Who here wasn't strange? He continued a moment after, "Not like that." He rolled his eyes, "I don't think he goes here."
There were more than 3,000 students. Even if more than half of them were locked up, how would he be able to tell who went here and who didn't?
You decided to ask a question instead, "Why were you outside?" He glanced to the door and just stared at you as if you should have known what he was doing.
"Uh. Okay." You muttered and he just gave you a kiss on the neck, to which you responded with a quiet yelp.
"Night." He whispered before slipping off his shirt and into bed, still wearing his black jeans and a smug smile.
You glared at him and decided to go check out whoever the weirdo outside was. What did he even do to get the title weird?
You grabbed your clothes from under your bed and walked out to the bathrooms, where you changed. Today you decided on an oversized black jacket, orange and black striped tights, and jean shorts. Over your socks you wore a pair of black combat boots. (If you're a boy or girl who just doesn't like this look, feel free to change it, it's one am here and i need to sleep.)
You quickly brush your teeth and hair, (or if you don't have hair, you check your outfit to make sure it looks good). Leaving the restroom, You put your PJ's under your pillow, and leave the room again.
The moment you open the building and see the sun rising way in the distance, you feel a bit more awake. It's gorgeous.
The sky is painted with pinks that fade into blue, but come from a bright yellow where it all emits from the sun. Stars still light up some of the sky, but you can see them begin to fade into the perfect stillness of the early morning.
"Hey."
You look over to see someone entirely new, yet somehow, very familiar. The person is tall, just below 6'7, and has hair that's impossibly black. It's combed to the side and looks professional. His eyes stare at yours in a shade of normal brown with nothing to special about them, besides the contact ring around them that you can barely make out. He's dressed the same way an accountant usually is. With a plain white button up with a few pens in the front pocket and normal black trousers, with brown business shoes.
"Hi?" You call back, wondering why this person looks so familiar.
They give a charming smile in return, "I'm a bit confused. It's my first day here, and I was wondering if it could tell me I need to be headed." The voice it what makes it click. A terrible attempt at a foreign accent.
"Braxton?" You ask, genuinely confused.
He bows dramatically, "My lady." Holding out his hand, you place your left in his and he places a soft kiss on them. "Did I surprise you? This is my Halloween costume."
He dyed his hair and put in contacts to go as an accountant? "Yes, you did! You're supposed to be who?" You asked, hoping he wouldn't say accountant.
You had to admit, you kind of loved his blue hair and preferred it that color over black.
He gave you a quick wink, "I'm supposed to be what I'm not."
Someone sane? Was your immediate thought.
"A respected member of society bgev also known as, not a drug dealer." He gave himself a content smile accompanied by a nod.
That solved your question of who the weirdo was outside, you guess. Now what? Surprisingly, there wasn't much you could do at this hour. They never enforced their curfew, so everyone was allowed to be almost anywhere, at any time.
The trees of the school had been decorated with fake bats and orange lights. The ground was also decorated, but with glitter and pumpkins in random areas, along with the occasional plastic ghost figurine.
Deciding on going to the cafeteria for an early breakfast, you made your way down to the building. Cake's Confectionary didn't open until way later, but the cafeteria was always open, at the expense of pretty gross food.
You thought about how the night would go. You wondered who was going to dress up and as what, and how the whole trick-or-treating process would go. Classroom to classroom or?
On the door to the cafeteria was a letter taped to it, addressed to you in black ink. "Oh." You let out, taking the note off the door.
You opened the orange envelope to find more orange paper inside.
"Hey there!
Now, I know you're wondering, "Wait, why's there a letter addressed to me on a building I barely even go to?" But even more so, you're probably wondering how in the world I found you. Fun fact: I'll be here every Halloween. Should we get started on this year's challenge?
Your hint: All colors never meant on this day, somehow shine at the front of the school, in glory held higher than the heads.
Now what could that mean?
Your old friend,
🎃 Trick! 🎃"
Your heart stopped momentarily.
Every year since you were six, a strange boy who was barely older than you, would propose a game. He never told you his real name, and only ever showed up that one day a year. Last year, his game was trying to find him in your parents crowded mansion during their Halloween party.
How and why, did he find you? You smiled. This year was a scavenger hunt. You opened the cafeteria and got (bland breakfast choice AND JESUS CHRIST DONT HAVE CEREAL IF YOUVE READ MY HETALIA BOOK YOU KNOW I REALLY HATE THE WHOLE BREAKFAST CEREAL THING) Sitting down with the letter in hand, you are your breakfast while trying to decipher it.
At the front of the school, you could start there. You moved to the front of the school after your breakfast and found yourself staring at it. The gate was huge, and barbed with wire. The gold crest of the stood out on the jade colored bars. On either side of the entrance, was a statue of an angel with it's arms out, as if about to hug someone. Above the gate, was the flag of school, held brilliantly above everything.
The statues could be the heads in the riddle, but would do the colors mean? The flag didn't have any Halloween colors, it was the white flower tainted with blood, on a navy blue canvas with gold linings. While it did fit the description, where was the next hint?
You moved from different angles and still saw nothing. After a good ten minutes of trying to figure something out, you frustratedly threw a medium sized rock at the flag, and a small shiny object popped out. Surprised that that actually worked, you went up to it and picked it up.
A key. Tied to the end was a small note, once again on orange paper.
"Hi, Alice!" Was all that was written on one side. You guessed it was a reference to Alice in the wonderland. You turned it to the back, "Guess where this goes? Next hint: Pink, frilly, and loved, inside you'll find another note!"
Confectioner's Cafe! There was no way it wasn't! The only bright pink place you could think of! How did he get a copy of her key though?
You ran to the building, entirely out of breath by the time you arrived. On the door was a sticky note. You took it off.
"Tisk tisk tisk! Think outside The box, love."
The box...... what was the box? You looked at the key again and shoved the note in your pocket.
"Who's there?" A voice called out from behind you. You were jabbed with a walking stick in the leg and you turned to face Cake.
She was dressed as a deer, with a white and gold tutu, brown leggings and long sleeved shirt, a headband with ears on them, and a pair of brown and white flats. Her makeup was done with little white dots around her face and on her shoulders to give the spotted deer look.
"Good morning." You said and she cocked her head to where you were, probably trying to figure out who you were.
"Yeah, good mornin'. Sorry, you sound really familiar. Who are you?"
Before you could respond she continued with, "You didn't follow me from the classroom did you? Gosh diddly darn it."
"What."
She shook her head, "Roue's been rubbing off on me." She asked for you to say something again, but not your name.
"Hi?"
"Nike! Oh no, she's working in her box." She looked thoughtful for a second.
"Box?" You asked, hoping this would relate to your clue.
"Er- office. Whatever you people call it."
"What is she working on?" You asked. If it was pink and frilly you practically had your next clue.
"Uh, my new formal dress." She gave a look of recognition. "Ah! (y/n)! I know this!"
You smiled, "Yeah, what does your dress look like?" You asked, what to get the next clue.
"Oh, it's supposed to be really frilly and pink, but I haven't seen the color pink in forever so I'm not really sure what it looks like. All I know is that it feels great. Anyway, what're you out here-"
You cut her off with a quick goodbye and thank you, rushing to Nike's office. When you got there, you knocked on the door. The key was too small to fit in the lock, so it must be for something in there.
Nike answered the door and you walked into her classroom. She just looked at you, waiting to hear why you visited, without even saying hello.
You smiled and glanced around the room, "I have a question."
She raised her brow, "Yes?"
You came up with a quick question. "Why are you and Braxton such good friends?" You could've done better.
She smiled back this time, and took a strand of her messy black hair, playing with it in between her fingers. "He helped me."
Her gaze went from loving back to cold in seconds. "I have to go." She muttered and walked out of the door without any other words. It was probably Danny, needing her to do something.
You decided to scavenge the room. Under her desk you found a Chancy Pokémon, dressed in a pink, frilly, dress just like Cake's dress that stood in the corner on a mannequin. Upon further inspection you noticed that it was in fact, a box.
You took the dress off and, sure enough there was the line to open the egg that stood in her pouch. You unlocked it with your key and took your orange letter out.
"You probably can't tell, but I'm clapping. Good job!
Last one: In a labyrinth of green you'll find a celebration of orange.
See you soon,
Trick!"
You knew what this meant. The maze! In the middle he must have left some confetti or something.
You bonded toward it, leaving the key inside the room. When you made it to the maze you messed up a few times and met dead ends, but eventually found the center. By this time is was dusk. Jumping into the center you saw a huge party taking place.
Everyone you knew was there! Roue as Tsuriburi, Kale dressed up as Blue (fully equipped with headphones & hoodie), Blue dressed up as himself, Will as Jason Borne, Nike as Bob Ross and Mathis as a generic serial killer. All of which sparked a laugh from you.
The party was awesome, glitter, confetti, tables of food, music, Braxton dancing to single ladies, and a drunk Kale, was apparently all you needed for a party to be amazing.
About 30 minutes I you noticed it. Leaning off one of the tree branches, was him.
Trick. He was dressed this year as a prince, his bright scarlet hair pushed neatly to the side, and his pinkish yellow contacts glowed in the dark. On top of his nicely combed hair was a crown, pushed lazily to the side. He was dressed in very formal attire with a sash over it, and you had to admit, he looked like a prince of some scary far-away land.
(SORRY TO RUIN THE GOD DARN MOOD BUT THERE WAS A BIG ARSE ROACH IN MY SHOWER AND IM SCARED BUT MY FREIND KILLED IT AND NOW I THINK IM GONNA HAVE TO GET HIM TO SLEEP IN MY BED BECAUSE IM SCARED OF ROACHES AND AM A VERY BIG WUSS)
You ran to the tree and he jumped down with ease, rolling on the grass with his crown tucked under his arm. He stood up and placed he crown on, still lazily to the side.
He held out his hand and you put yours on top his, so happy to see him again. He put it to his lips to your hands in a soft, loving kiss. "Darling, it's won-" you tackled him in a hug and he caught you, but you both tumbled to the ground. He pinned you to the ground, his nicely done hair falling to the sides and framing his face.
He leaned down and kissed you under your left eye, then on the edge of your nose, and finally on your forehead. He leaned in to your ear and whispered, "Do you know why I call myself Trick?"
You shook your head, your heart was beating to fast and your head was filled with too many thoughts to form a coherent response.
"I call myself Trick, because you're my treat."
Needless to say, that night ended with some very jealous boys.
(HOW WAS YOUR HALLOWEEN? Comment who or what you went as this year! I was a deer, mainly because I really wanted to wear the tutu that came with the outfit. Ohhh, how about candy? Did you get a lot? What's your favorite kind? I love me some chocolate!
Haha, anyway, I'll catch you later, you sweeties, so stay safe!!!
AND WITH THAT,
Ms. Cupcake OUT~!
