20. Bad timing
There he stood, expressionless as he gazed upon me and the stranger that just so happened to be holding my wrist at the time. At a first glance it would almost seem as if we were a couple (not that we were) so this was defiantly a badly timed meet up.
"Um, Rae... who is this?" BeastBoy asked with a confused face, eyebrows furrowed as he spoke.
"He's just a..." I begin, but find I don't have a defenition for what he is to me. A friend... defiantly not. A fan... Maybe. An aquantance..? Yeah, let's go with that.
"He's an aquantance." I finish, looking back at the guy with a glare, only that had no effect on him as all he did was smile back.
"Awe, C'mon rae...I thought we had a connection." He began, placing a hand to his chest on an almost teasing manner, as if he were trying to make matters worse. Which he did.
"What kind of sick joke are you trying to play here? Because this is not funny in any way, shape or form." I hiss at the stranger causing him to let out a 'shocked' gasp.
"Whaaatttt?! I would never do such thing." He assured, shaking his head slowly to the side as he finally let go of my wrist to cross his arms.
At this beastboy just stood there, not knowing what else to do as the scene unraveled in front of him, his mouth agape as he watched. Confused and unsure of what to do he eventually interfered, walking up to us with a green finger pointing in our direction.
"Soooo... nothings going on between you two?" He stupidly asked, a single eyebrow raised.
"No!"
"Yes."
I actually give up. This guy is just taking advantage of my situation and ruining everything. I barely get along with beastboy as it is and now he has to ruin the tiny spark of hope left in the two of us. Unbelievable.
"I give up." I say in defeat, throwing both arms up in the air with an angered huff. I say nothing to the stranger as I walk off, shoulder hitting Beastboy's as I exit the cafe area.
With me gone, Beastboy put two fingers to his eyes and pointed them to the unknown person as a warning - although not very effective - before twisting around and running off in the direction where I left off at.
By that time, I was already in another shop, Searching for Starfish as I knew shed be in a place like this. And yes, before you ask, I was in a clothes shop.
"Star!" I call out but to no effect. Maybe I wasn't being loud enough? I mean, I am quite a quiet person so...
"STA-" Before I had the chance to finish calling out her name I was knocked down by an u natural force. And there's only one person I know who is that heavy.
"Whoops, sorry Raven." Cyborg apologised with a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his neck as he fave me a cheesy smile.
"Whatever." I mumble, placing a hand down onto the floor to haul myself up. He extended an arm out for me which I efferlessly swatted away before standing fully up. As I dusted myself off he looked at me oddly.
"What?!" I snap causing him to shake out of his trance.
"Oh nothing... I was just wondering why you were in a clothes shop." He laughed. I stared at him before sighing.
"I was looking for Star." I say when suddenly several loud screams echoed through the shop.
"What was that?" Cy asked, looking around to find the source of the noise. That's when a green blur flew past me and before I knew it I was on the floor... again.
"Terribly sorry friend Raven, but I am doing the rushing right now." Star apologised, floating down quickly until both feet were on the ground.
"What's wrong star?" Cy asked as I stood up again and began patting myself off.
"Yeah, what was so important for me to have been pushed to the ground?" I also questioned, correcting my posture.
"There is an emergency, one of the shops is in the flames current-" She began but was interupt ed by the tin can.
"Well why didn't you say so! C'mon, let's go..." He boomed before he and star ran off, knocking me over again in the process.
"Aaaahhh!" I yell as I collide to the ground again, for the third time.
"Really..."
