I hate putting this out there. I really do. However, I think it is important for those interested to know. I do know what I am talking about. 

I have a Bachelor's degree in English - Creative Writing and my day job is as a writer. I have spent weeks of my life in writing workshops and writing up whole pages of constructive criticism for my peers. I have also been writing seriously and publishing online since I was 12 (I am turning 23 next month, June 2020). I am also knowledgable in the publishing industry, querying, and what agents and publishers expect from manuscripts. 

When I beta read, I tend to focus more on the plot, characters, and how well the language itself is working. I will point out distracting typos if I come across them, but line editing is best done when these other things are figured out. I can also give you tips. Therefore, while I may point out some typos, I will likely not point out the majority of them. That said, if a sentence or metaphor, or even the whole chapter isn't working, I will mention this.
