Chapter 13:

Joey's P.O.V.

Every year at the end of January out school holds a winter ball. The theme every year is Winter Wonderland but there's never any real snow. So the school blasts the air conditioners and decorates the whole first floor turning it into a winter wonderland.

This is the first year I'm actually going and I even have a date. When I walked in from school today and told my Aunt Lily and Uncle Logan that Luke was taking me to the Winter Ball it was...well lets just say I never saw it coming. My aunt practically jumped with joy and hugged me so tight I almost stopped breathing. Almost. However my uncle was less enthusiastic. He crossed his arms and watched us. My aunt let go of me and went over and swatted his nose. "Oh Mr. Big Bad Alpha lighten up. You've known Luke since he was born. It's not like they're going to run off and make puppies. " that caused him to turn bright red an his eyes widened a I started to laugh. "Trust me. This virgin will still be a virgin when she comes back. " my uncle hid his face in his hands and groaned. "Oh my god. " he was redder than a tomato and I couldn't help but laugh more. "Virginator away. " I giggled the whole way to my room when he practically had a heart attack while my aunt giggled right along with me. Oh how I love to tease my uncle. He was practically my father. Just like Lily was like my mother.

I didn't remember my parents at all. I had fuzzy memories of them. I sighed and flopped onto the bed. Staring up at the ceiling I didn't notice the knocking on my window until it opened. I looked over and saw Kira slipping in. "hiya!" I chuckled "there's a front door for a reason."

She made a face "Pfft. Front doors are so last year." We look at each other and burst into laughter. Oh how I love this girl. She's been my best friend forever. I don't know what I'd do without her.

She grinned, "So how is the whole make Blake jealous thing working out?" I smiled, "Perfectly. Luke's even taking me to the Winter Ball. Which means you have to come too. It should be a great night." She groaned, "But I hate dances. Parties I like. Dances nope." I made the cutest puppy dog face "Please. It will be no fun without you."

She groaned, "Fine. But only if I get to pick out the dresses and you have to wear heels."

I groaned at the word heels, "Oh alright. I'm already wearing leathered boots with heels. One night in those strappy things you call heels won't kill me. " I paused, "Right?"

She giggled and grabbed my hand and dragged me into my closet all the way into the back in a hidden cupboard where I hid all my dresses. She opened the double doors and sifted through the dresses until she found what she was looking for. A long white elegant gown with beautiful swirls of sequins and beading. It was a single strapped dress that flowed all the way to the ground. "This is what your wearing. With those heels I got you for your birthday. "

I sighed, "Fine. Ill get Aunt Lily to do our hair." She grinned "Perfect."

Luke's P.O.V.

I was shooting hoops with a couple of guys when someone from behind shove me to the ground. I knew who it was before I even turned around. It was Blake.

"You need to stay away from Joey." He snarled at me. I easily got to my feet. "Hey your the one that rejected her. It's not my fault she moved on to better people." That really ticked him off and he swung at me his fist connecting with my jaw. I didn't hesitate to punch him back. My fist connected with his nose and I heard a crunching noise as it broke from the impact.

This only caused him to get angrier. He then swung again this time at my gut and it knocked the wind out of me and I landed on the ground. He didn't hesitate and started kicking me with his steel toe boots.

Just then I heard a car pull up and someone screaming. Joey. She always had the perfect timing. The fiesty little blonde hopped out of her truck as came right towards us. Blake was instantly distracted and this gave me a chance to get up.

Joey was now face to face with Blake her eyes were black and I mean really black. She was beyond furious. He voice was heavy with power and Blake cringed away. "How dare you! You have no right! You rejected me! So you stay the hell away from my boyfriend! You lost your chance! You are going to listen to me this time and listen good. I am ordering you to stay away from Luke. If you so much as lay a finger on him again you will lose that finger. Just like you lost me!" He voice was a snarl but the authority behind it was clear. Her whole body radiated with power as she looked each of the pack members in the eye then turned to me and her gaze softened and she took my hand in hers and pressed her lips to mine. I knew she was only dating me to get at Blake and I had agreed to the whole plan but I loved this girl. I always had and I always would. One day I would find my mate but until then I am going to keep loving her and making her happy.

Just to piss Blake off I pulled her close to me so her body was pressed against mine and I lifted her up so her legs wrapped around my waist and we kept kissing. I ran my tongue over her bottom lip and she opened her mouth slightly granting me access. After what felt like eternity we pulled away from each other and started walking towards her truck still hand in hand. I cast a smirk back at a broken looking Blake who looked like he had just taken a punch to the gut. I felt guilty but it passed when his gaze fell on me and it turned to rage. I smirked and turned to face the truck again and climbed inside sitting next to Kira who had remained in the truck. As Joey drove off Kira started to laugh, "You guys are so bad. You should've seen Blake's face. And you," she turned to Joey "Nice with the whole Alpha voice. Very nice." Joey chuckled and rolled her eyes then drove me home and gave me a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks sexy." She smiled at me. "Anytime my dear anytime." I chuckled and walked towards my house and watched as the girls drove off. Tomorrow night would be very interesting.

Joey's P.O.V. 

Oh my god one of these days I'm going to hang these boys by their manhoods until they beg for mercy and then another hour after that. Sighing I dropped Kira off at her house after I'd taken Luke home. Tomorrow was going to be interesting. I just hoped no one loses there ears at the dance. Yeah like that was going to happen. Blake just wanted to try something funny and his manhood would pay the price. Pulling into my driveway I shut off my truck and closed my eyes just thinking when someone knocked on the window of my truck. 

Opening my eyes I turned my head to see none other than Blake. Sighing I caved and opened the door getting out of the truck to stand in front of him. Our skin brushed slightly when I closed the truck door and electricity shot up my arm. The involuntary shiver coursed through my veins. I looked up into his eyes and instantly regreted it. They were so full of pain and betrayal I almost crumpled to the ground but I stood strong. "What do you want Blake?" I knew what he wanted before he even spoke but I was going to let him speak. 

He opened his mouth and word just started tumbling out, "I'm so sorry for everything I ever did to you. You didn't deserve it not at all. None of it. I love you so much Joelle." I gasp as he says my real name. I had never told it to anyone not even Kira or Luke. I lose it then and have to lean against the truck. "How?-How do you know my real name?" I stare at him never before had I felt such confusion until just then.

He sighed, "When you disappeared I looked for everything about you and I found your birth certificate. There's something you need to know." His words raced through my mind all jumbled as my heart started to pound in my chest. "W-what?" I curse at myself for stuttering but I needed to know what he was hiding from me. What could he possibly know that I didn't? 

Taking a deep breath he spoke, "Your real parents aren't who you think they are. Alpha Logan doesn't have a sister. He and the Luna are your real parents." His words rang in my ears as i stared at him in horror. No that couldn't be true. The world suddenly came crashing down on her it made sense everything but why they had sent me away. It was like they hadn't wanted me. Tears formed in my eyes I had never felt so betrayed and lied to in my entire life. That wasn't much to compare to. My whole life had been a lie. The tears slide down my cheeks and I found myself in his arms. Though at the moment I didn't care he was the only one not lying to me. Kira and Luke they had to of known something my own best friends had lied to me. They knew. They had always known. The knowing glances the small nods. They had been told the truth and they had kept it from me everyone had kept it a secret. Everyone but Blake. I looked up at my mate teary eyed and leaned in and kissed him. The kiss was loving and passionately. The whole world could have burst into flames and I wouldn't have cared. After what seemed like eternity we pulled apart to breath. "I love you too." I whispered in his ear.
