Chapter 14: Disappear
Chapter 14:
Blake's P.O.V.
Her words shocked me to the bone and I picked her up bridal style and kissed her again.
She didn't resist but did the opposite. She kissed me back. "I dont want to stay with them." She whispered when we broke apart.
I held her close to my chest. The last time I had seen her this frail and upset she had been broken and almost dead.
I pushed the thoughts away I hated seeing her like this. "We'll sneak in through your window and pack a bag then we can go somewhere. Anywhere you want."
She smiled up at me and got down from my arms and we moved to the back of the house.
Her room was on the second story so we would have to climb the tree and jump onto the balcony.
I watched as she climbed up the old oak tree. She jumped to the balcony and landed numbly on the balls of her feet.
She slipped into her room and started packing as I climbed up the tree. I leaped and landed on the wooden balcony then slipped into her room.
Joey moved quickly around her room as she stuffed things into her bags. She paused and looked at the silver gown that hung on the door of her closet.
I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. "I will take you to the ball Sweetheart." She turned her head and smiled resting her hands over mine.
Voices reached our ears from the bottom of the staircase and we moved quickly. She grabbed the gown and put it into the bag and she pointed to the heels which I grabbed and put in her bag.
Zipping it I carried it as she ran and jumped over the balcony landing in a crouch then looked up at me.
Footsteps came down the hallway heading towards her room and I tossed the bag down to her and jumped off the balcony landing beside her.
Taking the bag we ran to her truck and she hopped up into the passangers seat while I jumped up into the drivers.
Starting the truck I pulled out of the driveway and drove away from the pack house. "Where do you want to go?" I asked glancing at her.
"My cabin." was all she said. She wasn't looking at me she was staring out the window. I could tell she was lost in thought. I didn't want to push her so we drove in silence for the entire trip.
Pulling up through the forest towards her cabin it came into view and I was about to nudge her when I realized she'd fallen asleep.
Smiling I pulled up behind the cabin to keep the truck out of view. Opening the door while shutting off the truck I hopped out and slung the bag over my shoulder and went to her side shutting the door on my side.
Slowly I opened the door and unbuckled her picking her up and carrying her bridle-style. She mumbled slightly but didn't wake up. Instead she snuggled closer to my chest.
Smiling I closed the passenger side door and carried her inside. Setting her down on the couch I grabbed a throw blanket and set it over her.
Leaning down I placed a kiss on her forehead then went and set her bag in one of the rooms.
Looking around the cabin I went from room to room. Her cabin was beautiful. It was very much like a home. I paused when i reached a wall of pictures.
The pictures varied. Most of them had her in it. There were many with her and Alpha Logan.
I noticed something sticking out behind one of the pictures up higher and pulled it out. It was a picture.
A picture of a baby girl being held by the Luna with the Alpha smiling beside her. I turned the picture over and read the cursive writing on the back. "Joelle Marie Moon. 7lbs 11oz. " I read the words on the back out loud.
"What are you looking at?" The soft voice made me turn. I offered it up to her and she took it gingerly.
"How did I not see this before?" She looked up at me.
"It was up really high behind a picture. I almost don't see it." I shrugged slightly not sure what to say to her.
Sighing she turned and left me there while disappearing upstairs.
Rubbing my hand over my face I wondered if I made the right choice in telling her.
