When the corruption virus was first discovered everyone went crazy there was no order, no safety, no anything. Every country, state, and continent was in complete and utter panic, I mean who wouldn't; the virus turned person against person, love one against love one, and consumed your mind, thoughts, and actions. There were afraid and because of that people kept dying, lives kept being lost and no one knew how to stop it.

Most people became religious, calling the virus the call of God to purify the world's sins, others just seen it as a virus, just a plague to test humanity's will to survive. No one ever knows for sure...

5 years after the massacres the government went back into power, they created cities in what used to be military bases. After that they grabbed people who weren't infected and together everyone worked to rebuild society and keep it under control. Anybody suspected to be infected were either contained or killed but the people didn't take chances.

During the building process there was a rebellion people attacked the scientist and locked them inside a local abandoned hospital, they said that since the scientist were exposed to the virus the longest they shouldn't be let in the city for safety reasons. The government sided with the scientists being useful but oddly enough they never let the scientists out of that hospital.

There were several cities made in the United states, many fell during the first several months due to breaches but there falls only made the few cities stronger and eventually there were only 4 standing successfully. Ronan, Cipher, Terra, and Vegas. They were build with giant walls surrounding the city, so no one got in and no one got out.

Food was rounded up and sent to Vegas where the government officials stayed. The government then rations them to each city every month and the officers in that city gave it out by a person's ration card, you work hard you get one every week and then you get a good meal that will probably last you for a few days.

A ration card was only given to people 21 or older, anyone under had to share with a parent but as time passed the rule was less enforced because of low supplies. Now if your capable of working, you work no matter your age.

Curfew was issued to be enforced everywhere, people locked their self up to keep deaths minimal just in case of a breach. Oddly enough it worked, except for minor problems every city functioned and maintained order.

Everyone thought generations would live on to hear the tale of the virus and how humanity overcame it, unfortunately the peaceful world everyone witnessed fell short...

One day Ronan had a breach, then Cipher then Terra...one by one the cities turned into chaos, and the government issued a extermination order and began to bomb the cities...that day everyone was hit with a harsh reality, your never safe from the dark...you only prolong the inevitable...we are all corrupted...

Tyler p.o.v

"Day 798 log, this is Tyler Gray. Progress has been slow, the hospital is short on food. We probably only have a week's left before we run out and after that we'll most likely result to inhumane methods of substances..." I took a deep breath, "Its been 2 years since we were locked in here, some people have lost there heads, others have lost hope. Hey who knows, maybe humanity is already gone. Maybe were the only ones left...but I will not give up hope...Katie if your still alive believe me when I say I will not stop trying to find a cure. I will never stop trying..."

"Tyler were running the beta test, want to watch?"

"I'll be right there." He nodded and left, "This test should lead us to many promising results, with the lack of supplies and resources it's going to take awhile to form a cure...more time then we have available. If anyone's watching this, then you need to know..." Suddenly I heard an explosion. "Oh shit!" I turned off the camera and ran outside.

I seen glass everywhere, "The...The Damn breaker shattered..."

"Are you okay? Where the sample?!" He pointed to the table and it still looked intact.

"Ahhh!" I looked over and seen Kyle, another scientist, on the floor with a piece of glass in his leg.

"Oh shit...Tyler he's infected."

"What?" I looked closer.

"Look at his leg, black veins. He's infected." I noticed the black veins spreading from the cut in his leg.

Kyle looked at the wound then at me, "Tyler no...I'm fine it's just a flesh wound...please don't do this!"

"Help him up and take him to the room in the far end of the hall so we can get this glass out and control the bleeding."

"But Tyler he's..."

"Now." I nodded at the scientist and they got the message. The other scientists cleaned up while two picked up Kyle and took him to the room. I wiped by face and sighed, "I'll be right there."

I walked to my office and turned on the recorder, "Tyler Gray day 798." I heard Kyle screaming.

"Let me out! I'm not infected! Let me out!" The sound echoed of him banging at the door. "You can't leave me here!"

I took a deep breath and looked at the camera, "One of the scientists has been infected, an experiment gone wrong. We did what we had to..." I looked down... "We did what we had to do...for our survival." I looked back up at the camera, "Were unsure how long til he's completely gone and he breaks out, We never had much supplies for a contingency plan so the best we could do was lock him up in quarantine down the hall." I sighed, "We probably won't make it out here alive, whether it's by a corrupted scientists or by eachother. Its all the same...people are getting antsy, looking to me for advice. When did I become the leader? When did I have to make the tough calls?"

Kyle p.o.v

"Let me out!" I kept banging at the door but nobody answered. I felt nothing but searing pain throughout my whole body. I started to spit up blood and fell to the floor. "Somebody...help me..." My throat became to burn as I coughed loudly and I started to get shortened breath, my vision got blurry and everything seemed distance. I tried to reach the door handle but I didn't even have the strength to lift myself up. "Anybody..." I felt helpless, betrayed, and most of all in pain. "Help me...HELP ME!"

I turned on my back and coughed up some more blood and then suddenly everything went black.

Tyler p.o.v

"Were not making it out of here so before we...die...please find my daughter Katie Gray. Protect her, and do what I couldn't. Katie...happy birthday baby girl, I'm sorry I couldn't be there to see you grow up."

Suddenly I heard screaming, "He's out! He escaped!"

"Stay with Travis, Katie! Stay with him and he'll protect you. He might not show it but he's responsible, I love you honey." I turned and seen Kyle standing at the door, "Kyle no..."

Suddenly I lifted off the ground unable to breath as if I was being choked, "Tyler Gray...accused of betrayal...you've lost your way...and for that this where you die..."

"The cure..."

"Ignorant...all of you are nothing but fools...you can't stop corruption...embrace it."

"......Katie......" I'm sorry...

Kyle dropped the body to the ground, "Show's over...now The fun begins..." His voice was raspy and demonic.

He walked over to the hospital entrance and before leaving, lit the hospital in flames. Towards a city, shining with lights and oblivious to what comes next...
