☆Drilliens and Appearances☆

You trace your fingers down the bridge of an old book, then open the cover. Dust puffs up, and you sneeze.

Inside, Drilliens leap and dance, colors soft and faded by age, yet still do close to the real things. Flipping to the next page, your eyes a caught by one curled around the page number...

Drilliens can vary quite a lot, but they all have key components that are quite easy to break down

Please be sure to keep your Drillien's design true to the biome that they come from!

General Appearances
*☆*

Drilliens are sleek creatures, with almost leathery skin, and not scales. They are very smooth, and have three spikes/frills that extend from their jaw. It is only ever three, no more, no less.

They have long, curved faces, with noses similar to a cats, and two short, straight horns, tilted slightly up

Drilliens have long supple bodies, built for movement and speed. They have long flexible necks, as well as long tails, to help with balance, slender front legs, and powerful back legs

There are three main components to a Drillien's coloring, and it is rather simple. There is the dorsal stripe, the underbelly, and markings

Dorsal stripes are fairly common, appearing on Drilliens from the Savanna, Woodland, Cave, Prairie, and Tropics

A pale underbelly is a little less common, belonging to Cave, Prairie, Coastal, and Tropical Drilliens

Then come markings. There are three types of markings: stripes, dappling, and stitching

Stripes are thin stripes that run down the back of a Drillien, usually paired with a dorsal stripe

Dappling is another common marking, which can vary from plain smudges, to slight rosettes

|| Jungle Drillien, dappled markings||

The final type of markings is stitching. Stitching is when there are two sets of broken lines running down the back. One set along the spine, the other along the edge of the dorsal stripe. Must be paired with a dorsal stripe

Uncommon Markings
*☆*

There are a few uncommon markings that show up on Drilliens, such as different colored talons, or bright colors, or shaded tails

Different colored talons are the most common of uncommon markings, and almost any kind of Drilliens can have this marking

||Savanna Drillien, dorsal stripe and different talons, stripes||

Bright and/or saturated colors occur when a Drillien has a diet consisting mostly of fruit and flower nectar. Though it is common to see a vibrant Jungle or Tropical Drilliens, when seen on other breed types, it is considered uncommon

|| Coastal Drillien, dappling and vibrant colors||

Shaded tails is the last kind of uncommon marking, and it is when a Drillien has a dark tail, but no dorsal stripe

|| Arctic Drillien, dappled markings, shaded tail||

Head Markings
*☆*

There are three different kinds of head markings for Drilliens, and any breed type can have these markings

The "full" marking is commonly found on Prairie Drilliens, but other kinds can have this marking as well. It goes from their mouth, to the edge of their spines

|| Prairie Drillien, dorsal stripe and stitching, pale underbelly||

The second kind of markings is the most common, known as a "half" marking, reaching from their nose, to their eye marking

|| Tropical Drillien, dorsal stripe and different talons ||

The last kind of marking is a "partial" marking. It is when only just above the nose and near the horns is shaded

|| Cave Drillien, dappling and pale underbelly||
