Deans POV

Its been 2 weeks since the wedding and im just packing my bags ready to make the trip to Stanford to see Sam, man is he going to be surprised when I turn up with my wife and a 4 year old and 5 month old kid. His gonna freak, I've just finished packing when I reach for my phone and notice a voicemail. I listen and its my dad but there is white noise in the background sounds like a woman.

"Hey Hannah can you take a listen to this, see if you hear anything strange".

Hannah takes the phone from me and listens to the message then starts to frown "it sounds like a woman, I think she's saying I can never go home. What's this mean?"

I take a deep breath and look into her beautiful hazel eyes, "it means dads in trouble, he wouldn't have tried calling otherwise."

"well it looks like were going to have to put our trip on hold" she says as she takes my hand in hers, I look at her in shock as she continues "look I know you and your dad haven't seen eye to eye for a very long time but I also know you, you would never leave your family behind and that includes your dad. Don't worry about me and the kids, just go do your job and come home alive."

I pull her into a hug and kiss the top of her head "how did I get lucky enough to marry a woman like you?"

she chuckles and kisses his lips "it was fate, now go find your dad and come home safe, and keep me posted, I want at least one phone call a week."

I laugh "it will be at least once a day, im just going to say goodbye to the kids and I will try not to be to long and don't worry I will stay safe I promise." I exit the room and walk into the living room.

"Hey champ what you doing?" I ask as I sit down next to Matthew.

"im looking after James, mommy asked me to keep eye on him."

I look at him with pride, his just like me at his age before we were dragged on the road after mom died, "listen buddy, the trip has been put on hold for a bit, you see your grandad needs a bit of help and I gotta go help him".

I look at Matthew as he pouts with disappointment, he never liked goodbyes. He took a deep breath and nodded "ok daddy I understand" he hugged me tight as if he was committing what I look like to memory "stay safe on your mission dad, we love you." he said referring to him and his brother.

I hugged him back and said "I love you 2" I pick up James from his play pen so he can join in the hug "I love both of you and I will call you every day I promise". after saying my goodbyes I head into the driveway and load my bag in the back of the car and set off down the road to the next job.

But first I need to make a quick stop at Stanford, if im going after dad then I cant do this alone, I need the smartest guy I know, I need my brother.
