Chapter 3: Hide the Prey
Pushing the corpse around was fine, but dealing with this crowd. It's frustrating.
Why won't you move out of the way? Get off your phone and actually, pay attention to what's happening. I bet if I pulled out the gun from my holster they would start to care. I can't get lost in this rage.
"Excuse us"
In the opening between the crowd, I noticed a flashing green arrow appear on the wall.
Ding.
The doors were closing. As I guided people away.
"Move we don't have time!"
Everyone made way. Running towards the elevator.
"Leave it open."
The doors halted and began to open once I was a few paces away.
The woman waved me in with her eyes widened
"What floor?"
"Five. Keep it pushed."
I had to keep my voice as convincing as possible. To this woman, it's a medical emergency.
I placed my hand on the corpse's shoulder.
"Everything will be fine Mr. Sevantor. We have an evac on their way to pick you up"
Ding
Exiting the steel doors I released my grasp from the handles. Walking to the edge.
dang it Tarek. Where do you want me to throw him?
Seconds later a rumble erupted from the inside of my pants. As I stuck my hand there I removed my flip phone from the pocket.
"Schlinder. Turn left there will be a bush below, make it work."
He sounded like he was hiding something. First he leaves clues in the bathroom instead of telling me. Now he's hiding something. What's next Tarek are you throwing me under the bus? Am I just a decoy like what you did to Sarah in Thailand? I clasped the phone gripping it even harder.
"Why didn't you tell me how to deal with the bodies when we were at the bathroom. It would've been done sooner."
"Get the job done."
"Tarek how am I going to-"
Beep. Beep. Beep.
"Get out of here"
Dragging that thing sitting on the chair was not enjoyable. There were many times where even the slightest step I took moving forward made his hand slip away from mine. Once I finally managed to have him at the brim of the roof. A slight push dropped him into the abyss.
I felt another rumble against my leg.
" Run! Get out of there"
There were sounds of leaves cracking from his end.
Looking over the edge, there were two lights shining at one spot. It wasn't the bush.
The phone hung up
"Geh untersuchen den Bereich! (Investigate the area!)"
One of the lights shined somewhere else flashing side to side.
Ding.
