Today had not gone well, I had gotten into an argument in my Science lesson with the teacher who then ended up sending me to isolation. Then Mike came to pick me up, I was not looking forward to his reaction.

"Only you could get sent out and start do a book report and get sent home for it." mike tells me as we leave the school a little while later. I was shocked he didn't seem angry or even mad at me.

"Well they didn't like the fact that I wasn't doing Science work." I replied explaining why the had chosen to send me home for 'refusing to cooperate'. 

We drove home in pretty much silence. 

"Go upstairs and finish that book report." Mike tells me. 

"We're not going to talk? You don't want to shout at me or lecture me?" I asked thoroughly confused about the whole thing.

"Do you want me too?" He asked.

"No but that's never been the point."

"Look, I have a lot of work to get done before I get the rest of the kids from school. There's not much point anyway, we both know that you never pay attention anyway. How many times have I told you to buckle down at school and start working or told you not to go out without telling me." He replies.

"I'm going to do my book report." I quickly say before going upstairs trying to stop the tears rolling down my face.

Jody's POV:

I went straight upstairs to Teagen's room when I got in from school, Tyler had told me that she got sent of Citizenship and we all know that she wasn't in after that so it must have been pretty bad. I walked into her room to find her laying on her bed crying.

"I guess Mike didn't take it to well then, did he give you a massive lecture?" I asked rubbing her arm to comfort her.

"No, just sent me up here." she replies. I was little confused about this, it didn't sound like Mike and what had happened to Teagen then.

"What's happened then?" I ask.

"He's given up on me Jodes. He said there's no point lecturing me because I don't listen anyway. He didn't even ask what happened, He dosen't care anymore." She tells me through sobs.

"Cause he does."

"He dosen't. I was actually trying really hard and now I have messed all up."

I hated seeing her like this, I guess it wasn't really Mike's fault he had a point Teagen has been unreachable lately but nevertheless I still found myself in his office shouting at him.

"Why didn't you lecture Teagen or shout at her?" I questioned him.

"Look Jody this is a private matter. Just don't tell the others." Mike tells me clearly thinking that was the reason I was annoyed because he lectures everyone else.

"What because you don't want the others to know that you aren't that great ad you do give up on kids?" I questioned angrily.

"Jody Calm down what are you even talking about?"

"Teagen, she's up there sobbing her heart out because you don't care about her anymore." I shout at him.

"I do care about her Jody, I will talk to Teagen but nothing I say is going through to at the moment." Mike tells me calmly.

"Well don't worry the fact that you have given up on her has really gone in." 

"I didn't say that--"

"You didn't have too." I interrupt. "It was pretty obviou since you didn't even care what happened. Didn't let her explain, you just shut her out."

"Look Jody I will speak to her about it later,  I need to get on with this so if your finished." Mike says gesturing for me to leave.

"No, No I am not finished." I say pulling Teagens report from a stack of paperwork."Do you even bother to read this, you should be proud of Teagen."

"Jody she is on report for a reason. Which is not something to be proud of." Mike tells me.

"Yes, I know but it should show you something. She got a 4 in dance, fully participated in the lesson, I haven't seen her participate in one dance lesson. She hates it. French she got a 2, yeah that's not the greatest but for a normal French lesson that would have been a 1 if not kicked out."

Mike glares at me.

"Ok I know you don't think this is helping but think about it she never participated in anything. She gets suspended and put on report. Yeah maybe she still ain't the best but she is trying her hardest and you've totally given up on her for one blip which if you actually speak to her wasn't even her fault." I don't know if any of that helped at all but it was worth a try. I leave the office and go back upstairs to sit with Teagen.

"Thanks for that." Teagen says with a small smile.

"You heard that." I questioned a little embarrassed

"I think the whole street heard some of it." She laughs.
