||A couple of hours later||

I was finished up at the police station and now I had to go 'home' accept that wasn't home anymore. Mike left me and Luke to have a chat.

"Thank you." I hugged Jack.

"Everything's going to be ok now." He smiles.

"I can't go back Jack." I tell him tears forming in my eyes thinking of being met by Harley again he will know I told Mike.

"I know what you want me to say Teagen but it just won't ever happen." Jack tells me as mike comes into the room.

I go over and hug Mike tightly letting the tears flow. The addition of that one word had broken me. Those four letters had ripped my dreams apart.

I looked up at Jack hopefully as he walked towards us but he just left the room and started a conversation with someone else with a smile plastered across his face.

"I can't go back, not with Harley." I sob to Mike.

"Harley's gone, you have nothing to worry about." Mike tells me.

"So everyone knows what happened?" I asked.

"Not at all Harley chose to move to a different care home." Mike said with a small smile that told me he was persuaded more then asked.

We walked out to the mini bus and Mike handed me a book.

"Your going to need something to read." He smiled.

I took the book from his hands and opened up the first few pages to get to the title since the one on the front had been covered. On the inside page it said To Mike with a message and then love mum.

"I can't." I said trying to hand the book back to him.

"Once upon a time I needed that book and now you need it. Take care of it." He said gently pushed the book and my arms back towards my chest.

"I will." I said holding the book tight.

I started reading it on the journey home, luckily I had been reading since I was little so I didn't get car sick when I read anymore. The car stopped abruptly to me as I hadn't realised where we were lost in my own world. It was finally time to face reality.

As I walked through the door I was faced with many faces right in front of me.

"Back up yeah, give the kid some space." Mike tells them all.

"Where have you been?" Tee questioned.

"out." I said as though I had just been shopping or something.

"You've been gone for days." Floss added.

"Point?" I asked.

"Harley left, I bet that was your fault. You ran away so they wouldn't let him stay." Johnny said clearly annoyed at me. I immediately saw red at the mention of him and took johnny my his shirt and pinned him against the wall.

"Don't talk about stuff you don't know about. I heard he chose to leave, maybe he wanted to get away from you." I said inches away from his face.

"Teagen!" Mike shouted.

"I know, I know, Room I am going." I tell him.

I sat in my room undisturbed for a wile, Jody did come and check on me but I told her I need to be alone for a while and thankfully she respected that. It wasn't until dinner time that Mike came up to my room.

"Coming down for dinner?" He asked, I didn't reply only shook my head.

Don't want to see everyone or to busy reading." He asked.

"Both, I really like it." I smiled.

"I used do this sit in my bedroom and read for hours on end. That book my mother gave to me when I was in the hospital with appendicitis." Mike told me.

"I'm sorry about all that stuff I said. I'm such an idiot, your the only one that actually cared." I apologised. It was true I would spend endless hours reading ignoring the world around me while it ignored me back apart from Liam, Mike was the only one I talked too.

"I understand, you were hurt and I should have believed no matter how much you have changed recently." Mike tells me.

"You right I did want to be like Liam, I thought maybe then he would come back for me or Jack would help me but I didn't want to go this far. Harley told them it was me so he could run free." I told him.

"It's not going to help acting up. It won't make Liam come back, he'll make things right once he realises that Jack isn't his only family." Mike smiles.
