'Thud, thud, thud!'

I hear footsteps climbing up the hard, concrete stairs. It must be my boss... Slade! I start to panic, he is my savior yet also the scariest person I know. I've never even seen his face before, all day and all night he wears a cloak covering his true identity. His face hides like a shadow.

there are good guys and bad guys, I believe he is a bit of both. A bad guy when outside, but when he's inside with me he is kind. But at the same time mean.

"Violet!" I hear him yell like usual. I pack my things in my desk drawers and step outside my bedroom door quietly. I blow a puff of wind from my mouth, moving a strand of hair from in front of my eye. I like the style but Slade differs, and whatever he says, I do otherwise i'll get kicked out for good. I would LOVE to have a pet to keep me company, but of course the 'boss' argues yet again saying it will distract me. If I could choose one though, I would have a wolf. The master of the woods and my favorite animal.

"Violet!", he was standing right in front of me and I didn't even notice. I need to control my daydreaming, seriously, it's getting out of hand.

"Come down stairs with me, we need to talk." I hate it when he says that, it makes me really nervous. Yet, I still follow him down to the dining room, one of my least favorite places in the WHOLE house.

"Come child, we need to discuss something..."
