Epilogue
"Mom, it's too fancy!" Mia groaned getting lost in the layers while trying to get out if the dress. "We wanted a simple wedding, you know that," she tried to reinforce the fact knowing that the three women won't settle for something simple. "Oh, just shut it already. You love it too, but you won't admit it," Charolette practically squealed wiping off her tears.
"I love it," Mia confessed in a small voice as Martha and Christine clapped unanimously. It shocked her how much close she had become with Charolette and Christine who were like sisters she never had. She had asked Charolette to be her maid of honor and Christine, one of her bridesmaids. Nervousness settled in the pit of her stomach. Those must be the pre wedding jitters. She thought. Seeing her only daughter in a wedding dress Martha couldn't help but let the tears slip as she engulfed her, kissing her forehead. Mia cried too. Apparently everyone else in the boutique had heart eyes for them. Leo ran off from his mother's lap and hugged Mia, more like hugged her gown as the women broke apart laughing at the little one's affectionate actions. Mia picked the four year old up and kissed his cheek while he just wiped the tears away. It was just too perfect.

Mia looked at herself for one last time in the mirror before finalizing it.

Nathan patiently waited at the other end of the aisle. He couldn't wait to see her. The last few days had been grueling and stressful even though they had decided to keep the wedding as small as possible owing to what happened when he proposed her. It was shear luck they didn't make it to the news that night, and the next morning wasn't pleasant either. Mia had managed to teleport them to a strange remote island. So the wedding needed to be small. Mark, who was Nathan's best man and who knew about his powers patted his shoulder to give him some support as he nodded back courteously. Dexter, Christine's husband came in and stood behind Mark. Only family and a few office friends from Nathan's side and the same from Mia's side were attending. So the hall seemed empty but it had all the people important to them.
The music started as Mia ascended down the isle along with Nick who had the pleasure to take Matthew's place. Nick was the closest friend of Mia. Nathan's breath hitched on seeing his bride as his eyes moistened unknowingly. She looked so beautiful. Beyond words beautiful. All the cloudiness, hesitations and fears had drained away from Mia's heart as her eyes met his ocean blue laced with tenderness and love.

"You shall speak your vows," the priest said directing towards Nathan who sucked in a harsh breath making everyone giggle.
"Mia," he paused taking her hands in his, "I love you." He breathed as the small crowd cheered. "You are an amazing woman and I don't know what I did to deserve you. Those seven years, without you were the worst," he closed his eyes cringing. "But you found your way back to me and it felt better than a miracle. You.... you repaired me. Made me who I am today." Mia violently shook her head tears pouring down her face as she muttered, "It was all you baby," as he pulled her close wiping off her tears.
"I love that dominating streak you have. I love when act childishly when I cancel our plans at last minute sometimes. I love how you scrunch up that little nose of yours when you find something out of its usual place. I love how crazy you are for your job even if it hurts that you love it more than me," Mia giggled at his remark as he continued in a tone lower than usual so only Mia could hear him,"I love the effect I have on you."
"Speak up loudly!" Came a loud voice from the crowd. It was Christine who was cheering and laughing with moist eyes as everyone erupted concurring with the groom's sister.
"But," Nathan said rather loudly this time smirking at Christine for a moment then diverting his attention to his wife. "I also hate that you are too sacrificing. I hate that you think of everyone before yourself and don't take care of yourself," he said earning a , "That's why she's marrying you," by Charolette as Martha shushed all the interruptions. "I just can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you so much," he concluded his speech as a cry left her lips. She held her face in her palms trying to calm down as he pulled her closer pulling her arms slightly away from her face for her to look at him.
He gently wiped the tears away kissing her forehead. The priest turned to Mia after everyone had calmed down a bit. "I need a moment to calm down," she laughed and so did everyone else. After a minute or so she spoke out, "I remember the night we met. My first impression of him was that of a giant arse, a rich brat." She giggled at the memory. "He is," Christine retorted.
"I swore to myself that I'll never associate with him. I remember our first date, our first kiss, first fight, us breaking up, everything falling apart and me pretending like nothing happened." Silent tears poured down her face. "All this and I know there'll be more to come, but I'm looking forward to it. Because that means I get to spend the rest of my life with you. It was all worth it. I can't promise that we'll be always happy or everything will be alright because honestly I'm way too scared but I promise that I'll stay true to you, true to us. I love you baby." She breathed as everyone applauded.

"By the power vested in me, I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride," everyone cheered as Nathan snaked his arm around her waist pulling her close and sealing the gap between them.

Song for this part: Dynasty by MIIA
Throughout the car ride, Nathan held her hand as they impatiently drove to his house not wanting to waste a second of their newly married life. By that I meant (narrator), to get changed and leave for honeymoon.
Suddenly, something was thrown in their way causing Nathan to hit the brakes rashly, which made their car skid because of overdrive crashing into the divider as the car caught fire, fuel tank bursting. Mia saw everything in slow motion, a black van passing them throwing a sack in front of their speeding car before driving away in the opposite direction, Nathan turning the wheel violently, her grip tightening on his hand, eyes fear-stricken praying Let us be safe but it was too late.

"Car crash at the Sixty Seventh, I repeat. The car was on fire. We have managed the scene. But there is a problem," the firefighter reported to his senior.
"What?" Came the voice from the walkie talkie.
"There was no one in the car."
