Lisa's POV

"How much longer I'm I gonna have to stay here?" I ask my lawyer as he's looking through his notes. "Hopefully they'll be releasing you soon. They still don't have any actually proof that you..."

"Soon!?" I snap, cutting him off. "I shouldn't even be here in the first place and you know why there's no proof? Because I DIDN'T DO IT"

"But you were in the house that Mary was found and..."

"And so has Michael and Leanne and Mia and God knows how many other people yet I'm the one stuck here getting all the blame for something I didn't even do"

"Well like I said hopefully we can get you released soon but..."

"Hopefully? What kind of lawyer says hopefully? Have you ever even won a case?" I say with an attitude. "Actually I've won many but if you wanna know the truth" he says then sighs heavily. "The detective that has your case is one of the most sneaky and corrupt detective I've ever met. I've never been up against him myself, but I've known many that have and lost"

"But I didn't do it so how can you possibly lose?" I frown "if you didn't do it then there won't be any kind of evidence, but you have to realise that you were heavily connected with Mary and you have been arrested before for attempted..."

"I was having a mental breakdown at the time" I cut him off. "Which they'll try and use against you and say that you broke down again. This is a serious case and their not going to let this go until they have someone charged for this"

"But they already made me see a therapist yesturday and they obviously wouldn't have found any proof I did it because I didn't so how long until I can leave this place?"

"Soon hopefully, but um.. there's one more problem"

"What now?" I sigh rolling my eyes "if they don't find anything soon then they won't have any choice but to release you but..."

"How's that a problem?" I ask confused "there may not be any proof that you were the one that killed Mary but.. "

"Because I didn't" I cut him off "But..." he continues ignoring my comment. "There's still video footage of you going into the house and taking items with Mia and if Leanne decides to press charges then they won't have to let you go and you could be charged with breaking an entry and burglary and..."

"What!!?" I snap, cutting him off. "So far she hasn't and there's a chance she won't, but there's still a chance she might and if she does then she has a solid case because there's video evidence"

"So I'm stuck here no matter what? Is that what your telling me? They can't do this to me. I'm pregant. I can't have baby in some stinking jail cell. I haven't done anything wrong" I croak, trying not to cry again. "I'm doing everything I can to get you out of here" he says softly and I don't say anything, trying despretly to hold back my tears.

Michael's POV

After taking Leanne over to my parents to hang out with Janet, I go to work and spent most of my time around other people to avoid Randy, but the moment I go to my office to get something Randy comes over.

"Finally. I've been trying get you alone all day" he says closing the door behind him. "You do know how creepy that sounded right?" I chuckle slightly and turn to leave and he takes my arm pulling me back. "Wait. I wanted to talk to you about Leanne. Is she ok?" he says, stopping me from leaving. "Leanne's doing great thanks" I smile through pursed lips and turn to leave and again he stops me. "You haven't told her have you?"

"I couldn't do it. She's already been through enough and..."

"You have to tell her. You've known about this for weeks now. It's not fair to do this to her"

"Do you have any idea what this could do to her? How would you feel if you found out something like that if it was you?"

"I'd be hurt. Of course I would, but I'd wanna know. That poor girl doesn't even know her real name for God's sake. Do you realise how cruel your being right now?" He frowns "You have to tell her"

"I don't have to do anything and I'm not going to tell her. I thought about. I've done nothing but think about it and all telling her is going to do is mess her up even more and break her heart. She's been hurt enough and her memories of her parents is all she has left. She deserves to have at least one happy memory from her childhood" I explain. "Their not her parents though and never have been. I get you trying to protect her to make her happy, but what your doing isn't fair. You read what Carley wrote. Do you remember what she said?"

"Of course I do"

"And your still not gonna say anything? You have a mother who's heartbroken about her daughter. pleading with strangers on the internet to help her and you know exactly where she is and your doing nothing about it. How would you feel if it was you? You have a baby on the way and Carley was 17 just like Leanne and how would you feel if someone took your baby in the night? Wouldn't you want someone to help you find your son or daughter?"

"Of course I would" I sigh slightly. "But that's not gonna happen, because Leanne's having a home birth so we won't have that worry about that"

"That woman has been looking for her daughter for almost 18 years. Are you really that heartless your not gonna tell her?" He frowns confused. "As her mother she wouldn't want Leanne getting hurt or being heartbroken. I'm protecting her daughter and sparing her from more pain. If anything Carley should be happy" I shrug. "Well if you won't tell Leanne I will" he says and turns to leave and I quickly grab his arm, pulling him back.

"You can't tell her"

"Watch me" he frowns and turns to leave "she won't believe you" I say and he turns back to me. "DNA test don't lie" he shrugs.

"There is no test" I mumble "what are you talking about? I saw it myself?" He frowns confused. "I burned it"

"YOU WHAT!!?" He snaps "I burned it. Along with the letter and all that stuff about Carley too. So if you tell her then i'll just deny it and she'll believe me over you and...."

"What the fuck!? Mike, you can't be serious right now!? Please tell me you still have that stuff" he frowns and I shake my head. "You had no right to do that to her"

"And you have no right to tell her anything. Do you even give a shit about Leanne or how she feels?"

"Of course I do! She's like a little sister to me"

"Then why do you wanna hurt her so bad?"

"I don't wanna hurt her. But she has the right to know the truth"

"But she doesn't have the right to be happy? Is that what your saying?" I shrug "I'm not saying she doesn't have the right to be happy. I'm saying..."

"That's you'd rather see her heartbroken and you wanna traumatise her a little more than she already has been.... Sounds like you really give a fuck about her" I say that last part with an attitude.

****
Detective's POV

"Any knew leads yet?" Carl my co-worker asks, coming into my office and I shake my head looking through my case files "So what happens now? We're gonna have to release that Lisa woman if we don't find anything soon"

"Yes! I know!" I snap then sigh heavily to try and calm myself. "Why are you getting so pissed? It's just a case and from what I've heard about that Mary woman. whoever killed her did the world a favour" he chuckles slightly. "I'm getting pissed because all the time I've been here there's never been a single case I haven't been able to crack and I'm not gonna let this one get me" I shake my head. "Just relax. We can't win them all. And this isn't excatly the easiest of cases. Everybody that knew her had a motive and there's no trace of any kind of weapon or even a key for that lock on the basement. If we could find that then maybe..."

"That could have easily been thrown in the trash long before we found the body" I sigh, shaking my head. "It's that girl. I just know it"

"Leanne? She's a 17 year old little kid and the fact she's pregant at that age shows she's not very smart. I doubt Leanne would be able to pull off a murder and cover her tracks this good. She's not smart enough" he shrugs. "Maybe not by herself, but she has that Michael and his family protecting her. She's the one that did this and obviously their covering for her"

"Why are you so adamant that it's her? I've interviewed her myself and trust me, she's no murderer" Carl insist. "Because I just know. The second I looked in that girls eyes, I knew"

"So what are you gonna do about it? We can't arrest her based on you being sure because you looked in her eyes" he says in a slightly sarcastic tone. "We need to bring her in again, but this time we go straight over there. She had plenty of time last time to prepare, but if we get her unexpected then there's no way for Michael or anybody else to get to her or tell her what to say" I say getting up from my desk. "We're gonna go now?" He frowns confused. "If she has nothing to hide then she wouldn't have any problem with it would she?" I shrug.

Michael's POV

I get a call of Joesph saying the police have taken Leanne back in for further questioning and I quickly rush down to the station and mother and Joesph are waiting for me.

"Where is she? What's going on?"

"They just showed up and said they need to take her in for more questioning" mother explains "an none of you thought to stop them!?"

"We didn't have much choice" Joesph cuts in. "Where is she now? I thought they weren't allowed to interview her without someone over 18 there?"

"Janet's with her" he says "How did she seem when she went in? Did she look stressed or scared or..."

"She looked confused, just like us. They just turned up out of nowhere. Why would they just take her like that?" mother asks confused. "They interview people over and over to try and find anything different in their story" Joesph explains. "But why just turn up like that? They didn't give her anytime to prepare or anything"

"That's the point" I cut in. "If their suspicious about someone then they try and catch them off gaurd. They took her quick so we didn't have time to get to her first" I explain "But Leanne already knows what to say. She said it last time"

"And she was prepared last time" I say nervously, hoping Leanne sticks to the same story.

****
Leanne's POV

"You've already asked me this question like three times already?"

"And I'm asking you again. Where were you the night Mary was murdered?"

"I was with Michael"

"Your sure about that?"

"Yes"

"But if you didn't know anyhing about the murder then how can you be so sure where you were the night she was murdered?" He asks skeptically. "Because after I left, I went back to Micheal's house and I've been there every night since. So what ever night it was, I would have been with him" I explain and he sighs heavily, getting more frustrated "And what about Michael? Where was he?"

"With me"

"GOD DAMMIT!!!" He snaps slamming his hands I the table. "Jeff, Calm down" the officer next to him says. "No I won't calm down!" He snaps at him then turns back to me and sighs heavily.

"Look, I know you had something to do with it. You know you did. So why don't you quit the bullshit and TELL ME!"

"She's just told you she doesn't know anything!" Janet snaps cutting in. "You stay out of this!" He snaps at her. "Where's the weapon? How did you do it?" He turns to me and I shrug, not saying anything. "YOU BETTER START TALKING OR..."

"That's enough" my lawyer cuts in. "My client has answered your questions and has nothing more to say. This interview is over" he says calmly to him and gets up from his seat and me and Janet do the same. "I can't stop you leaving, but you do know how that makes you look when you stop the interview and walk out? guilty"

"Actually, my client didn't stop the interview. I did" my lawyer turns you him. "I'm not going to sit here and have my client be yelled at and bullied into confessing to something she didn't do. Now do you have any other questions you'd like to ask nicely?"

"I want her to tell me the truth and..."

"So that's a no" he cuts him off "So unless your going to charge her then I'm advising my client to leave this interview" he says with an attitude and Janet and I quickly leave the room.

"What the hell was that about?" Janet frowns once we leave the room. "Are you ok?" She turns to me and I nod. "can he really yell at her like that!?" She frowns turning back to my lawyer. "It's an intimidation tactic, but it's fine. He has nothing and that's why he's clutching and straws and.. "

"So screaming at her like that is ok!?"

"Janet, it's fine just..."

"No it's not! They said they wanted to interview you and that guy spent most of the time yelling at you and..."

"Who yelled at you?" I hear Michael's voice and turn to see him, Katherine and Joesph walking up the hall.

"Nothing. It's fine we can go home now" I smile through pursed lips. "The detective yelled at her and tried to bully her into confessing" Janet cuts in "HE WHAT!!?" Michael snaps and I sigh slightly and tell him what happened.

****
Michael's POV

"I still can't understand why your doing this? And why won't you complain about that detective guy?" I ask Leanne as we're driving.

"I told you why and there's no point complaining to anybody. Do you honestly think he's gonna lose his job or anything over this?"

"I guess not" I mumble "But he still had no right to just turn up like that or yell at you"

"None of that matters now" she shrugs. "I didn't breakdown and I stuck to everything you told me to say. Isn't that a good thing?" She looks at me confused. "Of course it is. I just hate that I wasn't there to help you while some guy yelled at you and if I'd came back early or..."

"Michael, you can't be there to protect me all of the time and like I said. I'm fine. It was pretty obvious he was yelling because he couldn't get the answers he wanted, which I'm pretty sure he thought he'd get by just turning up out of the blue"

"You weren't this calm the first time" I point out. "That's because I was panicking and this time I wasn't. I wasn't even thinking about Mary" she shrugs. "Then what were you thinking about?"

"Me, you and our little family" she smiles placing her hand on her tummy and smile back at her the same way.

We continue driving awhile longer and we stop at a red light. "There's Mia" Leanne says pointing across the street and I look and watch her walking into a café.

"Are you sure you wanna do this? Because we can just..."

"One hundred percent" she cuts me off and I turn and pull over towards the café.

****
Mia's POV

"I heard you've been looking for me. Sooo... Here I am" I shrug with an attitude. "What do you want?"

"I just came see how you were" she mutters "fine. Is that it? Is that all you wanted?" I say shakily. "Why are you getting so fidgety and anxious?"

"You really wanna know why!?" I snap "Because I haven't had a fix in over 2 hours and I have some spoilt little, rich brat in my face asking me stupid fucking questions"

"Are you still?... you know?" She mumbles. "What? Fucking for money? Yup and why not? We don't all have rich inheritance from dead parents and a boyfriend's with multi million dollar companies. Some of us have to actually work for a living"

"Michael doesn't own the company his parents do"

"Then he's a spoilt brat like you then. Did you just come here to rub it?"

"Of course not" she shakes her head. "Then what... do... you... want?" I say with an attitude. "I can't sit around here all day I have to find some work. Unless you wanna pay me for a good time?" I say sarcastically. "I'd ask Michael the same but clearly you've been letting him shoot his load all up in you for free and.. "

"Why are you being such a bitch?" Leanne cuts me off "I came here to talk to you and maybe see if you needed some help with money or food and..."

"You have some money?" I cut her off and she nods. "Emma told me she saw you and you looked like you were struggling and lost alot of weight and I thought you might need some hel..."

"I do! And I am struggling! I'm sorry I was being a bitch. I just didn't know what to expect when I saw you is all. I thought you just came to gloat or something" I fake a smile at her. "I get kinda grumpy when I get hungry too. You kinda know that already since you lived with me at the..."

"Yeah. We would always get grumpy when we were hungry" I fake a smile. "So about that money?"

"Can we talk about Mary? I haven't really had anybody to talk to about what happens. Michael knows, but he's not really good at talking to about stuff like this" she mutters. "What's to talk about. The fat, ugly cunt is dead and I'm glad she's dead. I wished I would have had the balls to have killed her myself. Mary's gone and she ain't coming back" I shrug "Your not actually upset about it are you?" I frown confused and she shakes her head. "Why did Mary send me to you?" She asks and I look at her confused. "When I first got there she sent me to you and anytime a new girl came in Mary sent her to you too. Why?"

"You know why?"

"Tell me"

"Fine" I sigh rolling my eyes. "Mary sent all the new girls to me so I could train you and..."

"You mean 'groom me' not train me?" She cuts me off "same thing. Whatever" I shrug. "But it wasn't anything against you personally. Mary gave me alot of money for each girl I trained"

"So you were working with Mary in it?" She asks and I nod "yes. And I'm sorry. I really am, but money's money's you know?" I shrug "were any of the other girls working their apart of it?"

"Nope. It was just me and Mary. She brought them to me and I trained them all by myself. We were partners originally, but then once we got a few girls working for us. Mary got greedy and wanted everything for herself and you've seen how easy Mary can manipulate people. And that's how I ended up this way. One minute we were buisness partners and the best of friends and the next she's beating the shit out of me and forcing me to take drugs until I was hooked. and now look at me" I croak and start getting upset "I'm sorry. I just haven't spoken about this before and..

"I'm gonna have to go" Leanne cuts me off and I turn to see Michael standing outside the café by the door. "He can come over if he..."

"He doesn't want to" she cuts me off. "Here" she smiles slightly, handing me $20 "I'll come and see you again soon" she says giving me a hug and I hug her back.

once she leaves I go into the restroom and smile taking out what I just pickpocketed from Leanne as she hugged me and I smile at the amount of cash she had on her.

As I'm counting I notice a small key that I must have accidently grabbed when I was stealing her money. I'm not sure if it'll come in handy (just yet anyway) but I put it in my pocket and will think about that one later after I've finished counting what looks like at least a thousand dollars in cash.

Not only can I not believe how much money that little brat carries around with her as loose change. I can't believe how easy it was to it steal from her without her noticing a damn thing.

After counting up all the money, I smile to myself as I call my usual dealer, Jimmy

****
Michael's POV

"Here you go" I smile handing the guy some money. "Did they ask you any questions?" I ask and he shakes his head. "I did exactly what you asked. Walked in, dropped it off and walked straight back out and didn't say a word"

"Thank you" I smile slightly and give a little extra money than we agreed and he smiles, taking it from me.

****

Detective's POV

"I swear I had nothing to do with Mary or any of that shit! I already told you. Lisa was the one that wanted me to go to that house. Why are you wasting my time with this bullshit again?" Mia shrugs. "So how do you explain this?" I raise an eyebrow and play the tape we were sent anonymously.

The fat, ugly cunt is dead.... and... I'm glad she's dead.... I killed her... all by myself... Mary's gone and she ain't coming back

"That is your voice on the tape right?"

"Y-yes, but I didn't say that. Not like that. I never..."

"Do you know what this is?" I cut her off, placing a key on the table. "It's a key. So what?" She shrugs confused. "The right. The same key that opens the basement door to the house we found Mary in. Care to explain why you have it?"

"I- I don't... wait! Leanne! She did it. She was the one that had the key not..."

"So how come we found it in your possession? Along with some money which I'm guessing you stole from somebody?"

"Fine" she sighs slightly. I admit I stole some money from Leanne's pocket when she came to see me today and I must have grabbed that key when I took the money"

"You stole that from Leanne's pocket?"

"Yes and I said I was glad Mary was dead and wished I'd had the balls to kill her myself, but I didn't say I actually did it! She must have recorded me and edited the tape somehow or..."

"Or maybe your lying and never actually saw Leanne at all"

"I did! And I'm telling you the truth what happened!" She frowns getting agitated"

"We counted that money and almost a thousand dollars is quite alot of money for her to be just walking around with so carlessly" I shrug "well she was and I admit I stole it but that's all I did"

"Then how come she hasn't reported it? It's kinda strange she wouldn't report something like that. Don't you think?" I ask and she shrugs. "I don't know why, but what I do know is that this is all a set up and you need to let me go!" She snaps. "Why are you getting so agitated? You in need of another fix already? Or is it because your guilty as hell?"

"I didn't do anything wrong. Now can I go?"

"Nope. I'm afraid what ever dealer your planning on meeting up with is just gonna have to wait.... a loong time" I smirk

*
After interviewing and charging Mia. I go into my office to collect my things to leave and Carl comes in. "I didn't expect that" he chuckles slightly. "Me neither. Did you find out who brought in that tape?" I ask and he shakes his head. "I checked the cameras here and it was some homeless guy. He came here and handed in a tape and a note of where Mia was and left before the guy at the desk even had a chance to speak"

"He didn't say anything?"

"Nope. Just walked in. Dropped it off and left" he shrugs "She's claiming the tape was edited" I point out  "if it was then whoever it was did a hell of a job" he shrugs and I don't say anything for a moment.

"I was so sure it was Leanne" I mumble "so? I was sure it was Lisa, but the point is. We got the right person in the end" he smiles proudly "I guess so" I smile back through pursed lips.

****
Michael's POV

After paying a homeless guy to hand in the edited tape I quickly get back home to Leanne.

I walk through the door and Bugsy rushes over to me. "What the hell?" I look at him confused and pick him up.

"Leanne!?" I call out "I'm in the kitchen!"

I walk into the kitchen and Leanne is at the counter, making up bottles of baby milk "umm... Why is Bugsy wearing a diaper?" I ask confused "I was practicing. It took awhile, to get him to stay still though" she giggles and comes over and pecks my lips.

"Did you do it?" She asks and I nod "I still don't understand why you wanted to frame Mia though?" I ask confused. "Because she needs help and the longer she's out there on the streets. The worst it's gonna get for her"

"So you set her up for murder to help her?" I frown even more confused and she nods. "I know it sounds strange, but her going to jail is the best way I can help her. There not gonna let her take drugs in there with her and she won't have to sleep at bus shelters and drug houses anymore"

"Then why not help her into rehab? It helped me when I had a painkiller addiction remember?" I point out. "Yes, but you wanted to get help. Mia might not see it right now, but if she's in jail then she won't have much choice about not taking drugs or sleeping with men for money and she can spend all her time working on how to get her life back. I know it sounds bad, but trust me. She's in a way better place there than she is right now"

"And what about Lisa? You know they'll let her go right?"

"They probably have by now" she shrugs "and your not upset by that? You remeber what she did to us right?"

"Of course I do, but she's been punished enough" she mutters "How has she be punished? She got to walk away free after almost killing us"

"Trust me she has. I'm not saying Lisa is a good person or anything like that, but she didn't deserve what Mary did to her. None of us did and in away, that fire was actually good thing"

"How is almost killing two people a good thing?" I frown. "Do you know what happened to the other girls that were in that brothel?" She asks and I shake my head.

"Those that had them went home to their families and others that didn't, did what I did and started a new life and just like me, some are even starting families of their own. I haven't forgotten what Lisa did and never will. But I do forgive her" she smiles slightly.

"You forgive her?" I mumble and she nods and moves a little closer and wraps her arms around me. "Everybody's been through enough pain" she smiles and pecks my lips and I pull her in closer to me, not saying anything.

I'm only supporting Leanne on this one because I can't tell her who she can and cannot forgive, but personally I can never forgive any of them for what they've done. Lisa and Mia have done some of the shittest things someone can do to a person and put her through hell, yet Leanne's still able to find it in her heart forgive them and wants to help them.
