I built my house above the clouds.
I lived my dreams, lived them loud.
All the world, they knew my name.
They knew my glory, knew my fame.

I'd saved them from the beast beyond.
With joyful hearts they sang my song.
My life, a legend that would be told
Of a noble king with a heart of gold.

Then, without warning, the sky went black.
Another beast? The next attack?
Worse than that, I'm quite aware:
The darkened world of Ordinare.

My gathered sheets, my squeaking bed,
The pillow tucked behind my head.
From the window, sunlight falls
To illuminate the empty walls.

"Why here," I ask, "must I reside?"
And then, in vain, of course, I tried
To fall asleep, to go back there,
Or anyplace, anywhere.
