Chapter 16
Chapter 16
I sat in my car after my therapy session, and texted my mother, telling her everything had went well.
I wasn't going to go back home now. I kinda had plans. Date plans.
Lexi and I had never gone on an actual formal date.
I was about to change that.
I called my Pumpkin.
"Hello Blakey-Boy," she replied after a couple of rings, a smile in her voice.
I smiled back, even if she wasn't there to see it. "Hi Pumpkin."
"How did it go?" she asked me.
It was really such a relief to be this open about everything with her now.
"It went well," I replied, and then couldn't help being an idiot and added, "Doctor Boseman says you need to start hitting me in bed, it's gonna fix all my problems."
My girlfriend snorted on the other side of the line. "Suuuuuure."
She wasn't convinced. I laughed at her tone.
"But honestly, it went well," I said, being serious again. "He's changed the dosage of my medication a bit, so we'll see if that's going to help. And we basically talked a lot, about me figuring out how to manage my issues without turning them into bigger things."
"That's good."
"Yeah. And also, we've been talking about little things I'd like to accomplish in general in my life, to find happiness, you know."
"Right."
"And I realized I've never taken you on a date. Well, that time I brought you to the Chinese buffet had kinda been a date in my mind, but it didn't count because you didn't know," I added, almost as an afterthought.
"Yeah, it was kind of a date," my girlfriend agreed.
To me it had felt like it at the very least. It had made my heart soar and given me more hope than I thought I could have. It was the beginning of us actually getting along and spending time outside of school having fun together.
It had been one of the first times when I'd been thinking that we could actually work together as a couple in real life and not just in my fantasies.
It was kind of wild to think that now Lexi was actually my girlfriend.
"But it wasn't official. This one is," I stated.
"You want to take me out on a date?" Lexi asked, sounding a little amused.
"Yes! Dinner and a movie," I specified.
"Dinner and a movie?" she repeated, still sounding amused with me, but like, in an endearing way.
"Yes! That's the most common one, isn't it? Let's start with a beginner date and we'll move to expert ones later," I answered enthusiastically.
There were so many things I wanted to do with her. I should write a list for that too.
"Are expert dates in sex dungeons?" Lexi asked, making me choke on air.
"Bold Lexi is not invited to this date," I grumbled, making Lexi laugh.
"Bold Lexi is gonna ruin your date," she said, and I could imagine the wicked grin she was making.
"I'm looking forward to it," I replied, grinning too. I could bitch and moan all I wanted, I loved Bold-Lexi. "I'll pick you up in half an hour," I said and left no room for argument.
She would have told me if she had plans already. And I was too excited for our evening to wait any longer.
So, I drove to her house, and when I parked in front of it, I walked up to the front door and knocked.
Lexi's father answered the door, looking at me like I was a weirdo for knocking and not just walking in.
"Hello Mister Grayson. I'm here to pick Lexi up to go on a date," I told him with a stupid grin on my face because I felt stupidly happy.
"Oh, so that's why it's like there's been a tornado in her room," he said rolling his eyes.
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
"Go see for yourself," he said, moving away from the door and motioning for me to go upstairs.
I complied and took the stairs two by two.
When I stopped in front of Lexi's room her door was wide open and it looked like she'd taken out all the clothes from her wardrobe and thrown it everywhere in her room, the biggest pile being on her bed.
I covered my mouth to stop the loud laugh from escaping my lips.
Lexi noticed that I was there and turned to me, pointing at me. "Where are we going to eat?"
"I told you I was going to be there in half an hour, didn't I?" I just replied finding this sight quite amusing.
"I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO WEAR!" Lexi whined, shaking her hands over her head.
"What you're wearing right now is fine," I replied, leaning against her doorframe. She was wearing jeans and a green top that was a little tight on her so it showed her waist the way her baggy shirts usually didn't.
I liked that quite a lot.
"Is it fine? Or are you just saying this because you want us to leave?" she asked, narrowing her eyes at me.
"You look beautiful Pumpkin," I assured her. I was probably looking at her with heart eyes, so I didn't understand how she could be questioning this.
"Do you truly believe this? Or would you say I look beautiful even if I was wearing a garbage bag?" she asked, her hands on her hips.
I chuckled. My Pumpkin was too adorable for my own good and her own.
"Well... I mean, I do love you, so yes, I would probably still find you beautiful while wearing a garbage bag. Buuuut. What you're wearing is perfect. I didn't change either."
She gapped at me in faux horror. "Oh, so you put no effort on our date?"
"That's it," I snapped and bended a little, grabbing Lexi and throwing her over my shoulder.
It felt like I was doing this often. And I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it.
"Hey! Put me down," Lexi whined.
I complied, putting her right back on her feet. We were just inches away. I brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear, smiling at her. "Do you want to stress about this for a few more minutes?"
"Yes please," she replied in a small voice.
I chuckled, smiling more at her, and kissed her forehead. "As you wish."
Lexi grinned back at me, catching the reference.
So, I left her to her messy room and headed back downstairs.
I was about to walk past Lexi's father study when he called out my name. I stopped in my tracks. "Blake, you mind coming here for a second," he said.
"No problem sir," I replied, stepping in his office.
He'd been sitting behind his desk, so he got up now, walking around it and leaned against it. "I feel like this is a conversation we needed to have together on our own."
Oh oh.
"What is it?" I asked, trying not to freak out too much.
"If you hurt my daughter again, I will not be as cordial as I've been so far," he said point blank.
Yeah, I'd deserved as much. Honestly, I was still completely flabbergasted that he hadn't punch me.
"I understand," I replied, nodding.
He sighed, staring right at me. "I've been nice because I know this is what's making her happy, and I want her to be happy. She's always thinking about everyone before herself and it's a noble quality to have, but sometimes I'd love for my daughter to be able to be more selfish."
"Me too," I agreed.
Lexi deserved a lot more better things than she was getting now.
"And I want you to know that just because I've been nice to you doesn't mean that I won't murder you and burry you in the backyard if you ever make her cry again," he warned me.
I wouldn't have expected anything less.
"I'll do everything in my power to not make her cry again, sir. Maybe just like, happy tears could happen, but that's it," I reassured him. As long as I had any control on things, I'd make sure Lexi would be happy all the time.
She'd gotten enough shit with her mom leaving, with Alex shaking her self esteem, with her friends ignoring her problems and with me making her feel like shit.
"Lexi is very very precious. She's an amazing kid, and I love her and I want her to be happy, you get that?" he told me.
"I do sir. I want that too," I agreed.
"Alright. Well I've said my piece," he said, after taking a deep breath, like the conversation was over. "Remember, shark!"
I nodded trying not to chuckle at the shark thing. It amused me greatly in terms of threats.
"I'm ready now," Lexi said, appearing at the door.
She'd done a cute little braid updo with her hair. It was giving me free access to her neck now. That was going to be dangerous in a dark room while watching a movie.
"So?" her father said, walking towards us.
"So," Lexi replied.
"Do I need to give you some rules?" he asked, looking at his daughter with stern eyes.
"I'll bring her home at a reasonable hour, and I promise to be a gentleman," I replied automatically.
"I'll know if you aren't," he told me sternly.
Lexi was rolling her eyes beside me.
"I have no doubt sir," I nodded.
"See how good of a kiss ass he is?" Mr Grayson said to his daughter while she rolled her eyes again.
"The greatest compliment you can give me sir," I said.
"I really love this one," her father contemplated.
"Leave before my dad asks to trade me for you. Because then you'll have to break up with Lexi," Tyler yelled from his room, probably hearing the whole conversation.
"Gross," I replied.
"My sister is the gross one. GROSS GROSS SISTER," he yelled back.
Lexi grabbed me by the hand, dragging me out. "Byyyyyye. See y'all later," she yelled behind herself.
So we headed out.
I opened the door for her on the passenger side and went on my own afterwards.
I'd said I was going to be a gentleman after all.
Lexi sat beside me in the car, buckling her seatbelt. "This is kinda exciting."
"Only kinda? I really gotta up my game now," I replied, driving away from her house.
"Yes, please wow me Blakey Boy. Take me out on a memorable date," she replied with a smile.
"Your wishes are my command."
"So? If I ask you to drive with your shirt off, is that the kind of wish you'd grant?" she asked with a wicked grin.
I let out a pained sound. "I should have known this was coming."
"Yes Blake, you should know when things are coming."
I chuckled, shaking my head. "I've created a monster."
"Nah, I'm just comfortable with you know," she replied and pressed a quick kiss to my cheek. "You're in trouble Blake Boy."
I grinned, looking at her side ways, grabbing her hand with the other not holding on to the steering wheel. "The best kind of trouble."

Happy Monday my little Pumpkins!
Blake and Lexi are going out on a date! Hooray! I hope you're enjoying all the fluff. It's really just a fluff story this one. There's not going to be any real big problems (except for like Blake's smashing his head, but that's not for a whiiiiiile) Anyway. If you have any demands in terms of fluff stuff between Lexi and Blake, I'm always happy to comply. It's like... for Blake and Lexi, 4 to 5 months before the accident, so 4 to 5 months of just well. This. XD
So yeah, do tell me what you think and would like to see.
Also, hope you enjoyed the part with Daddy Shark. I know people complained about Blake not getting enough shit from him. XD I find it absolutely hilarious the way people seem to side with the love interest. When it was Lexi's POV, Blake was getting all the apologies. But no that it's been Blake's POV for a while, people are team Lexi. I have a theory about this. It's because you see the love interest through the main character's eyes, and they're so in love with the love interest that you naturally side with them. Poor Lexi, I wish she had more support back then. XD
Anyway! This week has been sort of a mess for me. I think I need a vacation. :') But in the meantime. Gonna go write.
See you all next week! LOVE YOU GUYS! <3
