'Cring! Cring!'

"Hye, little bro. How are you?" greeted P'Mew, happily as soon as he took the call.

"P'Mew!!! Why are you picking up mom's phone?" asked Forth in wonder.

"I'm fine too. Thanks for asking," replied P'Mew sarcastically.

"How come you're home? Don't you have outstation work this month?" asked Forth as he set up the phone on the kitchen counter.

"Finished early. So, I'm back home for the weekend. By the way, How's Beam? He is in his early second trimester, right?" questioned P'Mew.

"Yes, he is. We thought Beam wouldn't experience morning sickness since it didn't hit him up in the first trimester. But seem like it was late on schedule. He is coping up, though. Where's mom?" asked Forth, a little restless.

"Wait a bit, mama boy. Mom went to the kitchen to check something. You are going to be a dad soon. Be mature, please," teased P'Mew.

These Jaturapoom brothers never miss a chance to tease their baby brother. Even though Forth is soon going to be a father, they still treat him like a baby.

"She can hear you. You are on speaker mode," added Mew.

"MOM!!! P'Mew is bullying me," was the first thing he said when Mew informed their mom's whereabouts.

Forth complained to his mother while preparing the ingredients for lunch.

"Stop teasing him, Mew. How are you and Beam, baby?" asked Mrs. Marla when she joined Mew in the living room.

"We are good, mom. Mom, I need your recipe for spicy carbonara pasta. Beam is kind of craving for it," stated Forth.

"Personal advice from me. Don't cook. Why don't you buy it from outside? I'm pretty sure that you're not going to make it," kidded Mew again as he laughed his ass off.

"Mooooom, look at him," whined Forth again.

"Stop it, you two. Follow my steps and, your pasta is going to be wonderful. I guarantee that, okay?" consoled Mrs. Marla.

Forth listened to the instruction carefully. Forth even jots down some steps to avoid making mistakes.

"Share the results in our family group. Forth, I'm so excited for the arrival of my niece/nephew," stated Mew excitedly.

Forth doesn't know how to react to that sudden statement. The soon-to-be dad is not familiar with this kind of comment yet.

"Update about the outcome, okay? Take care of yourself and Beam's as well," stated Mrs.Marla as she hangs up the call.

It was a simple recipe but, with Mew teasing Forth non-stop, it took merely half an hour to teach him the steps.

Forth prepared the remaining ingredients and put away the phone before start cooking. If Beam saw the phone anywhere near the stove, Forth can say goodbye to his phone. It's dangerous to have electronic devices such as a phone near the fire. Who knows when it will burst due to heat.

As Forth was cooking, he heard slow footsteps from the stairs. Beam was walking down from their master bedroom. That poor soul threw up everything he had for breakfast and slept due to exhaustion. He slowly walked up to Forth and back hugged him as he rested his head on Forth's broad shoulders.

"How do you feel now, baby? Are you hungry?" questioned Forth softly as he relaxed into the hug.

"Much better. Little dizzy," answered Beam while he inhaled Forth's scent deeply.

"Why don't you rest in the coach? Lunch will be ready in a few minutes," suggested Forth.

He kept moving from the fridge to the stove to the kitchen counter. But Beam didn't let go. He followed Forth as he keeps back hugging him.

"Have this milk and stay seated on the couch. I'll play some songs through Bluetooth. So that you can relax and chill," advised Forth one more time.

Beam didn't answer him. He looks at Forth with his puppy eyes as he blinked them a few times.

"Oh-ho, I know that look. No! Beam," warned Forth.

"But, I'm bored," reasoned Beam as he clung to him.

"Still no. You promised not to touch your hospital works today," reminded Forth sternly.

What can Forth do? If Forth is not strict about this, then Beam will indulge himself with works again.

"I promise. I won't be hard on myself. Please na Forth, I'm damn bored," Beam tried his luck again with pouty lips this time.

Forth can never win against Beam.

"Fine. Only until lunch. After that, you should rest. Deal?" Forth offered a peace deal.

"Okay," Beam excitedly replied as he skipped to the couch like a mousedeer.

"Beam, slowly.....," warned Forth from the kitchen counter. Forth can watch Beam rest and do his work from the kitchen. All thanks to Mew's architect touch in their house design.

Beam started to review his patient's report as he listened to the calming music Forth played in the background.

~

One month back in the Hospital,

"Quit staring," said Beam as he returned from his check-up and seated beside his perplexed husband.

Forth has been staring at the ultrasound picture for almost half an hour now. Beam wonders what's so extraordinary in an ultrasound picture. But, what Forth asked next made Beam blank for a moment.

"Beam, where is our baby?!" asked Forth, alarmed as he, keeping staring at the ultrasound pictures intensely.

Beam doesn't know if he should laugh or cry at his husband's stupidity.

He laughed a little as he took the picture from Forth's tight grip and pointed at the small ball-like image in it.

"This is our baby, Forth. I'm still in my 10th week of pregnancy. So, this is the progress we can see for now. We can see more when I reach the Second trimester," explained Beam slowly while looking at Forth dearly.

The poor guy is still in shock.

"Beam, I-I, How is this possible?" he questioned. The frown on his forehead is so unnaturally cute. Beam smiled and caressed Forth's forehead as he talks.

"It's a rare case scenario but, it's not something new. There are successful cases before mine," described Beam.

"What do you mean by some successful cases? Will this pregnancy risk your life? I don't want this if it's dangerous for you," declared Forth, anxiously.

A baby as an addition to the family is fine, but he can't lose his Beam for that.

"Be a little optimist, will you? I'm going to be alright. I have you by my side," assured Beam as he hugged him tightly.

"I love you, Forth," he said as he hugged him tighter.

That new news didn't come as a surprise for Forth only. It was a piece of big announcement for himself too. A huge responsibility and an opportunity are given to Beam to complete their small family.

And Beam swears to do his best. A small version of Forth running around would be pleasant.

~

Forth did precisely like his mother's instruction. In less than half an hour, they managed to finish the cooking. The pasta looked very appealing and, Forth did the plating nicely.

Forth arranged the dishes on the small table in the living room in front of Beam.

"Beam...., put away those reports. You have to finish this portion and take your meds," said Forth while he went back to the kitchen to get some orange juice.

"SPICY CARBONARA PASTA!!! YEAY!!!" exclaimed Beam happily as he quickly put away his things.

Beam started to dig in as soon as he gets rid of his things. Don't judge him. He got to eat for two now. Just as Forth was about to take a bite, the house's warning bell ranged.

They don't remember inviting anybody. Forth and Beam were not expecting visitors on their supposed to be alone time. He got up to check the doors through the monitor.

Forth could only take a deep breath and sigh when he saw who's outside their home. His and Beam's friends were in front of their house entrance. They were waiting for him to let them in as they were holding a few packages in both of their hands.

"Our friends are here. Should I act like we're out?" suggested Forth.

"Don't be mean, let them in," replied Beam as he continued to enjoy his pasta.

Kit and Ming walked in holding baby toys in both hands, followed by Park and Lam holding some takeouts from fast-food restaurants. Wayo was carrying bags of baby clothes from a branded outlet while Phana walked in with books on pregnancy for Forth and some books about Cardiology for Beam.

'Keep cool, Forth. All is well!' Forth reminded himself in mind.

He released a long sigh when he noticed how his once clean living room now is filled with bags.

"Don't you guys have anything important to do? Why are you here every weekend?" questioned Forth with a flat face.

"How could you ask us that, Ai Forth? We are here to support you mentally and, we're very excited about Beam's pregnancy," replied Park with dramatic actions.

"Oh really. You sure, you are not here to bother me more," asked Forth sarcastically.

"WOW, there is pasta," exclaimed Lam as he digs into Forth's portion of pasta.

"Hey, that's mine," said Forth as he tried to save it, but he's late in that. Lam has already finished half of it.

"Don't worry, P'Forth. There are other foods here. You can have that," stated Ming to save Lam and Forth from bickering at each other.

The person who always is the judge is Beam and he is busy eating his pasta.

"I want some fries too," said Beam as he took that to consume.

"Eat slowly, Beam," advised Phana when he noticed how fast Beam eats.

"Guys, with the number of clothes and toys you bought, we might not need to do baby shopping for a year," commented Beam while checking the goods his friends bought for his baby.

"Sorry, P'Beam. I can't stop buying them. It's so cute," replied Wayo as he smiled at Beam apologetically.

Forth resign to the kitchen to get the utensils to share the lunch with his friends. It was not the first time.

All of them visited his house without notice for the past three months. To be precise, they are doing so since they knew about Beam's pregnancy.

Forth returned from the kitchen as he passed the plates and utensils to his friends. They formed a big circle in the living room as they seated around him and Beam.

All Forth could think as he watched his friends and husband chat with each other excitedly was, " Never Have I Ever know that people get more excited about our pregnancy news than us."

Forth saw how happy all of them are for him and Beam. He also noticed how excited are they about the unborn child. Even the so-called emotionless P'Mew and Lam are excited about this.

It felt weird but, he has to admit that he is excited too.
