Chapter 5
A/N: There has been some confusion on the character Bristor. Bristor is not just Eclipse's master, he is the master of the Sicarus Dominum. This means he is the master of all the assassins in the Sicarus Dominum, and they basically "owe" him for training them, raising them, or taking them in. He doesn't want their debt repaid in money. As a sadist, he prefers they repay their debt in blood.
"Ah, Eclipse! It's nice to see you for once! Most of the time you don't even do your overseer checks!" A dark, curly haired brunette grinned slyly at her. His locks poofed out around the top of his head, while his light brown eyes gleamed darkly in the light. He was quite short, at least a half a foot shorter than Eclipse. Dark and hole-covered pants contrasted against the light grey t-shirt he wore under his dark grey vest. It was Miguel, one of the dozens of overseers.
Eclipse narrowed her burning amber eyes as a warning to the short little man, causing him to laugh slightly, holding his hands up as a sign of surrender. 'Of all of the overseers in the Sicarus Dominum, I get stuck with this coward? Pathetic.' Eclipse thought to herself, scowling internally.
"Anyways, here's the extra info you might want on your mission," Miguel grunted, handing Tobias a slightly torn and unkept paper that looked like it had been jammed into someone's pocket. "Oh, and Bristor suggested that I tell you to have a quick battle with each other in order to gain some respect for each other."
"So basically Bristor suggested that we beat the shit out of each other to show the other person that we can fight so they don't kill us in our sleep?" Eclipse inquired, raising an eyebrow.
"... Just do it..." Miguel sigh in exasperation.
"So you want us to fight? What if we hurt each other? Aren't we supposed to be a team? I don't understand why we have to fight, it an unnecessary thing to do. What's the point?" Tobias continued to blabber on, practically ranting to Miguel.
'This is going to be far too easy. I'm insulted that they didn't give me a challenge. He's talking too much... Time to take out the annoying pain in my--' Eclipse thought to herself while silently placing her hands on the cool, smooth surfaces of the handles of her twin ivory daggers. Then, sliding them out of their sheathes, Eclipse leapt at Tobias while his back was to her.
Tobias must've sensed Eclipse's attack, because he leapt out of the way of Eclipse's attack with a startled yelp.
"What the heck?! That was a low move, trying to stab your partner in the back! I don't even want to fight you! It looks like I have no choice... Fine. Have it your way!" Tobias shouted, as he reached into his jacket and pulled out two triple-bladed katars.
Eclipse made the first move, lunging forward at the grey-eyed male and aiming a slash at his right shoulder. In a whirl of movement, Tobias blocked the blow with one of his katars, then kicked out a leg at Eclipse, the force knocking her back.
"Hey, give me some space!" Tobias taunted, lighting a burning fire of rage in Eclipse. She snarled, leapt to his right side and roundhouse kicked him in the gut. He groaned in pain and sent a punch at her with his katar, which she dodged and elbowed his back. In a single swift moment, Eclipse spun around and brought one of her dagger down upon Tobias, only to be blocked by his katar, which he then twisted, sending the dagger flying out of her grip and into the wall right next to Miguel's head.
Eclipse stared in shock at her now-empty hand, momentarily forgetting she was in the middle of the battle. Tobias took advantage of this and swiped his leg beneath hers, knocking her over and sending her to the ground. He pointed one of his katars at her throat.
"Tobias won. This is what we get for having a female assassin," Miguel laughed mockingly. A sharp glare from Eclipse shut him up.
'How did this happen?! Pathetic. I lost. I'm a cursed fool.' Eclipse thought, staring at the katar held near her throat.
Tobias pulled his katar away from her, putting both away back to being hidden in his jacket. Then, he smiled softly and held out a hand to Eclipse saying, "Hey, you did great. You'll beat me next time."
'Damn right I will,' Eclipse thought bitterly as she ignored his outstretched hand and stood up on her own. Then, she walked off, mumbling something about gathering things for the mission.
"What a drama queen, am I right?" Miguel sneered, nudging Tobias with his elbow.
Sighing, Tobias reply, "Drama queen or not, I still have to practically live with her until this mission is over."
