Aric Nash had just got back from hunting and had been attacked by a bear. His family knew that he would die soon.
Aric's daughter, Jane Nash, sat beside her weak father. He looked at his beautiful daughter with sad but happy eyes. Even though all the girls in the small town were beautiful, Aric only thought that Jane was beautiful.
"Jane." He said to the 7 year old girl. "Always be yourself. Don't listen to what other people tell you. In this town, girls may be fancy and the boys may be tough, but you are stuck right there in the middle. Don't change that! Just be yourself..." Aric's words drifted away as he died in his daughter's love.
Jane grabbed her father's dead, cold, hand and said sternly, "I will. Good bye daddy."
