Felicity

It's been three weeks since I've let myself be close to Kendrick. The distance is excruciating but I tell myself I need to stay strong. I can't give in.

The pain in my heart only increases the longer I stay away from him. The harder I fight the need to set my eyes on him. To be near him.

I can tell he's been trying to find me, to talk to me, but I keep evading him. I've been avoiding Angela too. The closer you get to someone the harder it is to move on, to forget about them. I can't let them get close to me, I'm a ticking time bomb just waiting for the moment to explode and hurt the next people around me.

I am just walking by the front door when a quick and urgent knock is heard against the door. I find it a little unusual as pack members never knock but just walk right in. They know it isn't locked seeing as the pack house is home to many. Curiously I open the door to see who could be on the other side.

A patrol guard is outside panting with his hands on his knees bent over trying to catch his breath. Immediately I think the worst and think something must have happened to my mate. The pain in my chest throbbing at the very idea of him in danger.

"Lu-Luna, there is a wolf at the border requesting your presence. Says you know him and will come immediately to see him. He wouldn't give us a name though." Although confusion enters my mind at who this wolf could be a gasp of relief leaves my lips, thankful that his rush here isn't about my mate.

"Okay, I'll come with you. Let's go see what this is about." We begin to walk to the north end of the border, in the direction of my old pack and a shiver runs down my back. Who could this be?

The foliage is deep in this part of the woods and I don't see him until the last minute and when I do I stop in shock.

The person standing across from me is not even the first person I would imagine visiting me. I know it has to be me because why else would he be here.

Lance.

"Wha- what are you doing here Lance?" He takes quick steps forward and reaches out to hold my hands but I retract them.

"Well, I've come to see you Felicity. I was told by a pack member on my way back from my six week long trip, that you had left to be with another visiting Alpha. I was surprised to hear it and I wanted to make sure-" he cuts off and then looks around him at the three patrolmen watching us. "Could we take a stroll? I'd like a little privacy."

I found his request a little unusual but at the same time I myself found it a little weird to have three men I am not entirely familiar with listening into our conversation. "Gentlemen, you may go." They hesitate for a beat but it isnt until I explain that Lance is a friend from my old pack that they step away and leave us to talk alone. Clearly not that far because if I strain my ears I can hear the light shuffling of feet.

"Well, it's good to see you Felicity. You look positively ravishing. I guess after you and your ex broke up you decided to set your sights on someone else now that our Alpha is no longer available? Very smart. And as I said, when I heard you left without another word I rushed right over here. I thought you were going to be the Luna to our pack? I guess that midget is the one he has chosen after all! I guess you can't fight fate." I was really confused, it appears he didn't stay long enough to hear the whole story and why I'm really here. A trickle of annoyance entered my being at all the insults he was throwing around in all directions. Is this how he saw me? Although I can't really fault him, I guess this is the impression I gave.

"Yeah, well about that Alpha-" I hadn't realized how close Lance had been to me becauae one minute we were walking, our elbows brushing, and in the next I stood frozen in place.

I couldn't even say another word before Lance threw himself against me, pressing my back against a hard tree and began to kiss me deeply with his tongue in my mouth. He found access to the inside of my mouth pretty quickly since I had been in the middle of talking when he grabbed me.

At first I was too shocked to move but once I snapped out of my shock I tried to push him away. It was no use, he must think we are playing the servant and lord bit that we have in the past. Where I would have previously tried to fight him and he would dominate me. In the past I loved it, now was not one of those days.

The more I tried to struggling against him the harder he pressed himself against me, to make me submit to his ministrations. What he didn't know was I had something to fight for, something I wanted so badly but has cowardly been pushing away for the last three weeks.

In my distraction I hadn't noticed his fingers creeping into my panties before I left his finger on my clit, touching me in the way he knows I like it. I doubled my struggle which made him even more turned on like it has before. I was beginning to get frustrated with my lack of escape. It was just before I felt like no one would find me to help is when I heard it.

"GET. OFF. MY. MATE!"

It took Lance a moment but the words finally soaked into his brain and the movement of his fingers froze.

I looked at him, the fury on his face clear as day. "Kendrick, I can explain. It's not what you think!" Now I've really lost him. After all that's happened, how can he trust me? Regret filled my whole being. Shame of my past eating away at the love we have been building together.

It wasn't until his eyes connected with mine that I felt like I could breath again. The concern and fear for me clear as day.

"What are you doing on my property wolf, molesting MY MATE! Who are you and what do you want? I suggest you think and answer wisely."

I don't think I've ever seen Lance move so quickly in any direction then I did today. He backed away from me so quickly it was almost comical. I bit my lip to keep from laughing.

"Oh! I-I- didnt-"

He had nothing to say, nothing to justify what just happened. After all he is the intruder in this scenario, and on so many levels.

"Felicity, please come to me." Kendrick reached out a hand to me and I quickly took it without another thought. I needed to feel our skin, something I know both of us have needing for the last few weeks.

"Well, I'm waiting for an answer wolf. I know you are from her old pack, my men told me as much but I don't see why you are here, without permission from the Alpha who also happens to have found you with your hand down his mate's pants. I suggest you speak quickly because the longer you take to answer the worse the case will be for you."
